“The issue of telecommuting I find cute, removed, and academic. The reason why is because I work from home and I largely view telecommuting to be for the sheep and the shepherds that employ them. But as I approach my now 9th year since my last appearance in rush hour traffic, I’m so far removed from it that I see a commute much like an abused wife sees her ex-husband for the irrational, damaging, and ultimately pointless waste that he is. The only question I have is
Why do you guys commute?”
A rare Mea Culpa
How news organizations, including this one, unintentionally misinformed the public on guns.
I take exception with the “unintentionally” part, at least on the part of the studies authors.
This “activist study” reminds me of Canada’s very own fake news.

Goodbye, Los Angeles– hello Oklahoma City. I left Rancho Palos Verdes at 8am yesterday (California time) and rolled into the show grounds here around 3pm. A bit of a hike that was.
Raylan (AmCan Grand Champion Minuteman Justified) and I had a very good day in LA on Sunday — won the American Miniature Schnauzer Club national specialty, and then went on to a second in the terrier group, at Great Western Terrier Specialties (about 400 terriers in competition!). Perhaps the biggest overall win of my dog showing career.
No photos yet, I’ve been either loading, unloading, sleeping or driving since Sunday afternoon, but will update if I find something worthwhile via this free wi-fi.
What fun. What fun.

If you’re interested in Kate’s progress: she got Select on Friday with Raylen, Award of Merit on Saturday and then won the AMSC National in the Great Western Terrier Specialities on Sunday. She took that win into the group and got Group Second. A very good day for Raylen.
She is also handling an Australian Terrier and he won the breed on Sunday.
A good California trip. She’s on the road now to the next destination.

Personally I think the University of Delaware has every right to do with their employees as they wish. I also think there should be some leeway in holding employees accountable to the mob for speech made outside of the office. I understand she wasn’t an employee but just a contractor awaiting renewal and that does change things.
New Rules, though eh. We’re long into lowest common denominator territory.
