  1. All I can say is … God Bless America. Nowhere on the face of the planet is it easier and more institutionalized to make $$$ for nothing (except maybe in the Nigerian “Royal” family). In America, you can even get the SEC to allow someone with NO actual products or business to SELL shares in their fictitious operation! Only after the perps have extracted $$$$ millions from naive “investors” (lured by the promise of a 15% return – typically) do the investors initiate a Federal examination and consequent shut-down the FRAUD. By then, however, all the investments are gone *poof* … into various offshore bank accounts or businesses in wives and children’s names. The “investors” LOSE everything.
Yes … my mother-in-Law lost $ half a million dollars to just such a scam … despite my pleas (and her financial advisors pleas) to NOT participate. Just RUN … far-away. But the FRAUDulent Securities sellers of this particular Ponzi scheme SOLD their FRAUD at a particular Southern California mega-church. They used the CONfidence of faith in Christ as a vehicle to peddle their EVIL. And … they were paying up to 40% (yes … 40%) commissions to local brokers to peddle this crap.
Yes … FRAUD is quite easy to perpetrate in America. Nowhere on the planet is “caveat emptor” a more important admonition.

  2. I love watching ‘American Greed’ and remind my fellow viewers it isn’t *just* the scammer exhibiting the greed. it’s the ‘25% return’ SUCKERS whose greed puts them in the crosshairs.
the entire world economy is a Ponzi scheme.
the dow jones, tse, et al are Ponzi schemes. (SEC re Madoff etc)
‘housing bubbles’ are Ponzi schemes. (tranna every 10 yrs or so)
one of the best investments I made was an outfit called E A Manning. penny stock. a.k.a. ‘pump and dump’.
I lost about 600-700 bucks and gained a lifetime insurance against making any similar ‘investments’.

  3. Yep….about ’86 I invested in a penny stock, mining, solicited by phone, and promptly lost my $500.00 “investment”. I still have the worthless stock certificate attesting to my stupidity. A great life lesson, and cheap at the price.

  4. your post reminds my of Silly…erm Billy Graham, one such big crook. Here in Ontario (Canada) his scheming org was a large part of the impetus for “power od attorney. And a few years ago he “apologized” for his anti-Sematic rants during his visits with Nixon. Great religious leader….NOT!

  5. One of my favorite quotes is: Only a swindler can be swindled. Yep, chasing a “secret” “special” investment that “Wall Street doesn’t want you to know about” … makes you RIPE for picking. And a total dumbazz.
Yes, Jim and Tammy Faye Baker USED Christ to enrich themselves. And Mother Theresa didn’t. Christians are REAL people … just like any other … some good, some bad. Confessing Christ doesn’t inoculate one against committing SINS. And personally ? I believe that anyone who USES God as a vehicle to STEAL … deserves a lifetime in burning HELL. But, then, that’s because I am also a sinner … who doesn’t have the patience and tolerance of a loving God. Billy Graham and Nixon … anti-Semitic ? niggah-puhleeze ?! Whoops ! we can’t use that phrase if we aren’t “black” can we ? Even wit the -ah …
You can tell that I have a philosophy that believes words are just words … but what REALLY matters is what’s in ones HEART, and MIND, and intention. I have -0- malice toward anyone … until they step on MY (or my loved ones) toes. Until they attempt to IMPOSE their belief system on me. You are FREE to choose. Choose-away, knock yourself out. But leave ME … FREE … to choose as well.

  6. I received one of those scams years ago. I suggested that when I receive the 500k promised I would be more than willing to help them out. Haven’t got one since.

  7. Yeah sure, scammers are a dime a dozen. What makes this one stand out though, is that it is being done with (by) corrupt lawyers and judges. Where’s the Justice Department? Oh wait, they’re too busy chasing down the fake Russian conspiracy.

  8. When return on investment (ROI) is 2%, it’s too low, a waste of money. You barely get back your original investment. In fact you lose money after inflation.
When the ROI is 5%, it’s still not worth the investment.
When the ROI is 12%, it’s too risky, people won’t invest because the reward is not worth the risk.
When the ROI is 25%, it’s a scam. You know it’s a scam. And that is when investors start pouring in.
