Good.

Unlike the left, hypocrisy is unacceptable on the right.

Derek Fildebrandt’s political career began to skid last week. On Tuesday, it dropped right off the cliff.
The young MLA for Strathmore-Brooks abruptly quit the UCP caucus at 9 p.m. as more troubles piled up around him. He will sit as an independent MLA.
His announcement was typically bombastic but, also, I thought, honest and almost touching.
“I’m a flawed man, and I can do better,” he wrote.

  1. This could work out perfectly! Canada could finally rid itself of these pesky family farms and organize all agriculture into collectives answerable to a central authority. Harvests could be carefully organized in 5-year plans, and many small farms could be aggregated into large kolkozy or sovkhozy. There must be countless examples where this idea has worked spectacularly!

  2. The Rebel is thriving, likely considerably more viewers than CBC. Brian Lilley likely had to pull out the kneepads to keep his day jobs. I’m sure they couldn’t handle the truth as seen on The Rebel.

  3. To add – Faith Goldy would likely win awards for her coverage of Charlottesville if she worked for a network. You never see reporters do real reporting anymore. She was like 10 feet from the car crashing into the crowd. Her sin was reporting that the communists attacked the rednecks which is, or course, the truth.

  4. Other news outlets such as CBS, NBC, and Reuters have asked permission to use Faith Goldy’s footage although they probably only took the car crash footage as the other reporting wouldn’t fit the narrative they established from the start.

  5. Fildebrant was one of those pushing for the PC’s and the Wildrose merger. I always thought he was a piece of carp. Everyone involved in murdering the Wildrose is a piece of carp.

  6. Sooooo, you calling Manning a piece of crap, because his interference got the ball starting to roll. He convince the “defectors” , to defect, which killed the wild hose party

  7. That is good news for Rebel. When organizations like NYT, CBC, Macleans, have to start saying you are in decline… well, safe to assume it’s nothing more than projection.

  8. I am a Wildrose supporter who agrees with the UCP becoming a party. I also agree with Fildebrandt removing himself from the party. I judge the integrity of a politician by the way they handle other people’s money. Fildebrandt failed my integrity test.

  9. You were duped. There is no one involved in creating this abomination that has the best interest of conservatives at heart. You gave birth to the Red Tory paradise redeux.

  10. …and the people have been duped a 100% of the time. Take ’em over from the inside…

  11. One of Fildebrand’s sins was double claiming meal expenses of about $190.00 over 2 1/2 years. That’s $6.33 per month. Somebody really had to be committed or nuts. That’s probably what the communist government uses their research budget for.
Another sin was renting out his Edmonton apartment, not a government apartment, on Airbnb when he wasn’t in Edmonton. It didn’t effect the government housing allowance which maximizes at $23,160.00. According to the rules he did nothing wrong. If his costs less his Airbnb money came to $23,161.00 he did nothing ethically questionable. I’m sure a furnished apartment in downtown Edmonton plus utilities, phone, internet, insurance, parking, etc. could easily add up to $23,161 but I don’t know.
The “leaving the scene of an accident” charge could mean pretty much anything, especially if the damage was ludicrously insignificant. As if everyone hasn’t driven away from one of those, based on the number of dings my car has acquired over the years.

  12. Just out of curiosity; was that with Brian as leader or without? Neither Wildrose nor UCP would defeat the NDP under him (or Derek).
