  2. They are beginning to get what they dish out in return. They don’t like it. Unfortunately the civil war has already started, and wars only end when the will of one side is broken.
    Has the war already come to Canada, or is it still in the future for us? I know it’s started in France, Germany, UK already. I am going to assume it must already be underway here too.

  5. What I think many north of the 49th miss and I think trump does as well, is there is a key difference between the white supremacist frInge and the totalitarians on the left.
    They believe that whites are superior to all other races and that as such should dominate those other races. No one on the left is claiming that some other race is superior to any of the others. White supremacists are in a league of their own in that regard. And as such deserve to be singled out.
    This is an acute issue in the US where one of the greatest wars in human history was fought to defeat white supremacism (that is the differentiator between American slavery and say slavery in Africa or that conducted by Indian tribes in North America). Trump’s tone deafness to this is unfortunate.

And the Civil War was not fought to defeat “white supremacism”. Yes, slavery was the driving issue, but the South did not argue that they were superior to the slaves and therefore entitled to enslave them. It was basic economics and the fact that the Northern states were changing the rules on them.

  18. I find the swastika and the hammer-and-sickle equally abhorrent, and I’d be as inclined to wear a Che t-shirt about as much as I would a Hitler t-shirt, which is not at all. Others have different tastes and sensibilities.
    Socialist ideologies have caused the deaths of many millions, but the whole business of “racial purity” espoused by Hitler and the horrendous results for Jews, Roma, and homosexuals are particularly repugnant.
    We’ve toured Auschwitz and visited the “killing fields” of Choeung Ek near Phnom Penh, standing next to the tree on which Pol Pot’s soldiers bashed out the brains of baby’s nightly as music played to mask the sounds. They were killing their fellow Cambodians, including babies and intellectuals, and if I were in charge of Hell, Hitler and Pol Pot would share the same furnace.
    La Raza just changed their brand name to UnidosUS, apparently after a lot of debate and surveys. People had “misunderstood” the significance of “The Race.” Okay.
    Regarding the Nation of Islam, back in 1974 Muhammed Ali as an enthusiastic member talked a lot about “the blue-eyed, blond-headed Devil.”
    Once all the statues have been removed, I guess somebody’s idea of a perfect society will emerge.

  23. I know many people use the term fascist to describe Antifa and Blm etc. They are right in the main but I think a far more apt description is Taliban. They are religious fanatics that will resort to violence first, if and when their belief system is countered. I say use violence first not in the context of being the first to resort to violence in any given confrontation but rather their default position is violence. They don’t discuss, they don’t reason, they act violently.

    Yes it is a collectivist belief that is no more offensive than other collectivist beliefs. It is based on equally adherent and flimsy justifications as to why an individual is to be subjugated by the state.

They’re nothing special about them and indeed given how marginal they are they very benign. I hadn’t noticed or realized the difference between national and international socialism. It certainly isn’t taught in schools. I remember being told the Nazis were right wing, in the classroom. That conclusion was never justified, just parroted from some left leaning textbook.

    Obviously Hitler’s Nazis were very evil but according to The Black Book of Communism: Crimes, Terror, Repression, a 1997 book edited by Stéphane Courtois, Communist regimes have killed “approximately 100 million people in contrast to the approximately 25 million victims of the Nazis.”
    To ignore this seems almost insane.

    Mussolini knew the Italian people wouldn’t like it if they’d found out he was Marxist so he invented the term Fascist which came from the well known fascio which was a bundle of rods(symbol of unity) a word which came from the Latin(Roman) word fasces.
    Hitler liked the ploy that Mussolini used on the Italian people and adopted it himself for the Germans.
    I could give you a list of clearly socialist Nazi programs but it would take too long. I could also draw parallels with similar programs in the Soviet Union.

  47. I think you are missing the big picture here. Sure white supremacists think they are better than others. I contend that at least a certain percentage of BLM think Blacks are superior. And of course Muslims think that anyone who is not Muslim is far inferior. I think this business of thinking your group is superior is pretty typical of the human race. There are tons of examples of where different ethnic groups claim superiority to some other group.
    Now I agree that white supremacists have the wrong idea, but how big a problem are they? Most people do not agree with them. There are probably some closet white supremacists, but nobody is proposing to bring back slavery or Jim Crow. By contrast, Antifa is a larger, better funded group and they are creating chaos in many places. They are instrumental in fomenting violent confrontations. (Charlottesville is only one example).
    The danger in Antifa and BLM is that they are deliberately sowing social discord. I suspect they are funded by those wanting to bring down the US (making way for the globalists). The white supremacists are just a bunch of guys who sometimes demonstrate, but not often. They have been around for a long time. They are not significant in number and pose no particular threat — until people start agitating and make them feel threatened.
    Trump is absolutely right. The fault lies on both sides. I think it is a problem that the media has been silent on BLM and Antifa.
