A lot of us, starting with Trump, say something like “a pox on both their houses” and “those idiots are wrong, and this is terrible.” And we mean both sides, the Nazi idiots and the Antifa idiots who showed up armed and ready to intercept them.
Here’s the thing, dear left: A lot of us hate Nazis but think they’re covered by the First Amendment. A lot of us hate communism but think that if all the Antifa thugs did was show up and shout, they’re covered by the First Amendment. A lot of us laugh at your safe spaces.
The most powerful hate group in the USA is the MSM. Having grown up in a time when it was a civic duty to read the daily paper so you would be informed today anyone who reads the paper as a source of information is misinformed. The journalists who write the stories and the editors who rewrite the stories have an agenda of hate against the idea of ‘America’. Some of the writing is done out of sheer ignorance but much of it has malicious intent.

Be careful using the term “Nazi” just because the MSM applies it to one side of the conflict. In co-opting their terminology, we give credence to that label. Unlike most of my acquaintances, I am willing to admit that I do not know all the necessary details of this incident. But I do know that just because CBC refers to one side as Nazis (and the CBC crowd has no idea that the term “Nazi” is rooted in socialism) or fascists does not make it so. I refuse to use their terms unless I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are true.
And the MSM has been wrong on pretty much everything else. Usually deliberately.

It is slanderous to call this a “Unite the Right” event since the performance had nothing to do with the political right. Underlying it all was another attempt to bring down Trump. He may have said the wrong thing (many people think he was right to point to blame on all sides), but it really did not matter what he said or when — the media was at-the-ready waiting to bring him down. He is accused of defending Nazi’s. I heard him attacking the Nazi’s, so I am not sure where that comes from. As I said, it does not matter what he says, he will be attacked.
That’s not irony — boy are you clueless. We mock the left’s obsession with safe spaces because they mean safe from ‘mean’ things that people might say or criticism. Safe space for them is escaping from adulthood which necessitates dealing with the real world. Goldy used the term in a context where there was real danger and the possibility of an attack. White supremacists were pretty much done and relegated to the fringes of society. Only in the imagination of progressives were they still a powerful presence. If they are indeed making a comeback then identity politics and this bizarre idea that all white men are evil must share the blame. Stopping the proliferation of toxic identity politics and returning to the ideals of individual rights is a surer way to minimize all tribal violence. It won’t end it of course.

Identity politics is a tool of progressives that has now been borrowed by the right. The last US election was the first where whites noticeably began to vote as a bloc. If Trump is removed or forced out, I think relations between the ruling class and disgruntled voters will get worse, not better. If he is removed by violent means then things will get very ugly.
The lefts use of antifa as their unofficial (quasi official?) morality police to decide which speeches people are allowed, what public works of art are acceptable and which groups are allowed to assemble is absolutely disgusting.
