Jeff McMorris, a caucus organizer, said turnout appeared to be “at least double” numbers in the 2008 presidential caucus, when an estimated 12,000 attended statewide.

Also, that damnable CPC strikes again (from the same article):

In a last-minute twist, the King County Republican Party warned Saturday morning of robo-calls to voters falsely claiming that the caucuses had been delayed a week.

God’s gifts to the Democrats

For those who haven’t been following the story (lance touched on it here), last week at a single-witness hearing conducted by Nancy Pelosi a law student at a Jesuit university testified that the costs of birth control for students such as herself are onerous – $3,000 over three-year stint, she averred – and should be included as a part of mandatory health coverage.
Her position is more than debatable on its own terms, particularly in light of information indicating that she decided to attend the Jesuit university “with the express purpose of battling (its insurance) policy”, but hey, why stick to the issue at hand when you can offend women on all sides of the political spectrum à la Rush Limbaugh:

“What does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex.”

Idiot. The Democrats have long enjoyed a hugely significant, double-digit advantage among female voters. Can you think of a better way to drive women who are potential Republican voters in the arms of the Democrats than by calling a young woman who disagrees with the conservative position a slut and a prostitute?
Rick Santorum can:

“I believe and I think the right approach is to accept this horribly created — in the sense of rape — but nevertheless a gift in a very broken way, the gift of human life, and accept what God has given to you.”

All those little people down there

CNN founder and UN benefactor Ted Turner:

“We’ll be eight degrees hotter in 30 or 40 years and basically none of the crops will grow…Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals.”

So then, what’s he doing in the meantime?

Turner shuttles endlessly among his 28 properties…..traveling hundreds of thousands of miles per year on his private Challenger jet.

God Bless You, Senator Glenn Grothmann

This one really put a burr under my saddle. The arrogance of the Forbes author enrages me. I’m not putting this link up here to get traffic, I’m putting it up here because 1) I don’t want to write twice and 2) any of you Canadian or American Latch-Key kids will also have your blood boiling.
Will SDA get results?
Thank you for your time, last post for a while. Didn’t want to monopolize SDA, but this one just really chaffed my hide.

Sí señora, soy un ciudadano Americano

Arf arf!

A Republican man in New Mexico wanted to show how easy he thought it was to commit voter fraud. So the Albuquerque man did just that…by registering his dog, Buddy, to vote.

This is Buddy, a three year old labrador. Now he’s also a registered Democrat…”

(The owner) said he was trying to expose the problems with the registration system. He said he just received the dog’s voter registration card in the mail Wednesday, and it was way too easy.
“They should verify. Somebody should have verified this information and somebody should have come out and took a look at exactly who it was.”

Racist.

CWB: Discovers capitalism

The CWB has had its tantrum and been told to go to their room. Now that they’re back at the kitchen table, surprise, they discover that capitalism actually works.

“We are very pleased that Cargill, as a forward-looking company in the western Canadian grain industry, has become the CWB’s first handling partner,” said wheat board president Ian White.
