All those little people down there

CNN founder and UN benefactor Ted Turner:

“We’ll be eight degrees hotter in 30 or 40 years and basically none of the crops will grow…Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals.”

So then, what’s he doing in the meantime?

Turner shuttles endlessly among his 28 properties…..traveling hundreds of thousands of miles per year on his private Challenger jet.

  1. Nobody watch CCN anymore.. Braves are losers.. Jane left me.. f*** all of you.. where are those teenage Japanese girls?!.. Geez, it’s hot in here..
    — Ted Turner’s last words

  2. …and has a 50,000 heard of bison.
Now, if you look at the details, the bison heard generates more gas than the fracking fracking.
Many times, one wonders that, otherwise intligent people, people that have accomplished stuff, made a lot of cash along the way, say things that seem out of character.
Or as one that is not cultivated would say, stupid.

  3. “…Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals.”

A well fed sniper on a mission.

  5. Another jet set eco-warrior, burning more JP-7 in a day than any “regular Joe” does in five fracking years.
    dwright

  6. He is Al Gore the Second.
    {Sarcasim on} “…Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals.” Perhaps he will be foced to eat Al an Dr. Fruit-fly – unless they get to him first. {Sarcasim off}

  7. Like Al Gore, Ted Turner has no background in science. I refuse to be lectured in science by ignorant, self-serving sell-outs who are only concerned with the next money making scheme. Because they are rich they are supposed to have credibility? Just see how it goes standing between those two and a buck. Save your dire predictions for the naive, Daddy Warbucks.

  8. O and that’s at cruise velocity, double it when he is in a big hurry to convince people that he’s not rich enough.
    dwight(disgusted with Ted)

  9. “We’ll be eight degrees hotter in 30 or 40 years and basically none of the crops will grow…”
No, Ted, farmers will just plant their crops earlier in the spring.

  10. Talk to the ranchers southwest of Great Falls Mt whose grazing allotments were recinded by the govt. so looney Ted could continue on his one-derful adventure. He took over a huge tract of land for his buffalo scam and the ranchers that had rented the land for years were told “beat it”. This clown needs to be ranting on a corner in downtown Atlanta with a end times sign, only because he is rich do the breathless suck-puppies of the media listen and repeat what this certifiable nut says.

  11. True story …
One of our kids graduated from University of Georgia in Athens, GA, an hour outside Atalnta. The graduation guest speaker and honorary degree recipient was Ted Turner … the evnt was held in their huge football stadium on a gorgeous late Spring day, with about 20,000 parenst and guests in attendance.
Somebody had written a decently inspiring speech for Ted to give to the grads (we could see him reading and turning each page), and he was deliering it well … until, BAM! – something snapped about 10 minutes into it, his meds quit working, and he stepped away from the podium with the mic and started rambling … an incoherent, arm waving semi-rant about God only knows what … and after about 3+ minutes 20,000 people started booing so loudly you could not hear a word he was saying! …but the university Preseident and faculty sat there DOING NOTHING, as 20,000 tuition paying parents were loudly booing as if the Leafs were down 4 – 0 in the middle of the first period!
Finally, Ted Turner got the message, wandered back to the podium, put down the mic and walk away … to a standing ovation, to which he flipped the bird to us all.
We were all completely amazed by what we had seen – our kid still talks about “his weird graduation ceremony” – and from that day everyone in that large Georgia audience knew Ted Turner was a VERY serious head case. If he wasn’t so wealthy he’d likely be committed to an assylum somewhere.

  12. Speaking of CNN, the few times I check out what’s happening “at the other guy’s” I’ve noticed CNN has TONS of advertisements for CBC. Is THAT a prudent use of our tax dollars? Anybody else notice that phenomenon?

  13. @ soccermom
So does Fox. I believe the CRTC mandates air time for CDN advertising and CBC is the big spender. Actually they are the only ones that spend big time on US channels from what I have seen.

scientists who wrote the report say it focuses on identifying emerging issues in the global environment, and that it is not about mandating solutions.
But its critics see an agenda lurking in its 60 pages, which call for a complete overhaul of how the world’s food and water are created and distributed — something the report says is “urgently needed” for the human race to keep feeding and hydrating itself safely.
Sure have to give them credit for tenacity. World government keeps rearing its ugly head. Definately time to scrap the UN and turn the UN building into rental units.

  15. Ted Turner is just another Limousine Liberal who like all the rest of them know exactly how the rest of us should live.Far as I m concerned he and Hanoi Jane were made for each other but I guess no house was big enough to accomodate those two gigantic egos.

  16. Actually, I have written complaints to both Shaw, my satellite provider and to the CRTC about the similcasting of Canadian ads especially CBC ones into Fox Cable News – I don’t watch CNN but the same case would prevail. Since no-one “owns” the Can. rights to FOX Cable or CNN the cable co. or sat. provider puts the ads in, and collects the fee. Even tho, in the case of FOX you pay a special fee for the channel, they then turn aroung and collect the ad fee too! CRTC and Shaw essentially told me to stuff it.

  17. perterj – I have noticed that weird phenomenon on Fox news also, makes me change channels during ads.

  18. It seems there is more CBC advertising on CNN and Fox than I ever remember before. Nervous about losing their share even more (since Sun came along??) I cringe every time I see Petey’s big head on those commercials. They lost me as a viewer many years ago and I don’t care to be reminded of them.

  19. That is my feeling too, Soccermom @1;14. Cbc is using our tax $$ to pay for these ads on Fox – where are the lefties who hate Fox News? Why are the fanatics not squawking about funding Fox News with Canadian taxpayer’s $$? Fox is English only, where are the Dippers/blocheads? They should all be sending out ear splitting screeeetches in the HOC.

  20. Ted Turner: a man with the all the gravitas and relevance of the Kardashian family.

  21. Ted Turner, along with George Soros, Warren Buffet and Al Gore are truly part of the 1% of scum sucking elitist Billionaires who preach that Capitalism is bad and must be abolished. Meanwhile they’re political vices are clearly marxist, communist and socialist to the core.
Meanwhile the occupy idiots think that rich people are the middle class and need to be wiped out or taxed to kingdom come.
    God the left is so……….

To steal from Kathy Shaidle (I think), it’s that annoying noise you hear in the background at airports.

  23. is he still banging Ms Fonda?
man she was hot in her day. and that exercise vid she did, bouncing up and down like that flexing those hips.
excuse, I gotta, um, go have a cigarette.

  24. Founder of Chicken News Network banging Hanoi Jane?
    History, chum, history.
As Jane sags, so do CNN’s viewers.

  25. The rest of us? Ted, I’ve got news for you. Your money won’t save you. You’ll be another hungry old man competing against younger, stronger, faster people for scarce food.
The survivors will, I’m sure, forgive you for your previous lifestyle that helped recipitate the crisis. Or not.
