Multiculturalism At Its Finest

Winnipeg Sun- ‘Hamas is coming for you’ shouted at Winnipeg pavilion

At Folklorama’s Israel Pavilion, Shalom Square, held at the Jewish Community Centre in Winnipeg this past week, attendees faced something that should be unthinkable in Canada. An unruly mob openly celebrated Hamas, a designated terrorist organization, directly harassing Jewish community members, their supporters, and guests of all faiths and nationalities for several hours. Frightening threats were shouted, including vile sexualized slurs aimed at women and girls and menacing declarations like, “Hamas is coming for you.” This was not just offensive speech — it was a breach of Canadian law, a violation of the basic right to safety, and a profound failure of leadership.

Circling The Drain

The fact of the matter is that John Q. Public is generally okay with the borrowing spree, no matter what the province or level of government. If there’s any negative consequences to an exponential rise in debt, most voters have pushed that concern to the back of their minds.

The province said its deficit is now projected to be $668.7 million for the 2025-26 fiscal year, up from the $549 million forecast in the March budget. Revenues are expected to be $59.6 million lower than forecast in the budget, and expenses are projected to be $60 million higher than the March estimate.

Kudos to Elections Canada

I’ve never been a huge supporter of Pierre Poilievre and still am skeptical of his commitment towards ACTUAL positive change in Canada. But what happened to him in the last federal election was a travesty. It was a clear attempt to subvert democracy and was successful in doing so. With the latest byelection, the same approach of flooding the election rolls with hundreds of people was a clear attempt to prevent Poilievre from getting elected once again.

This “legal malfeasance” clearly was a stab in the heart of the credibility of Elections Canada. So, rather than just sit back and do nothing, they actually took action, introducing an adapted ballot with which one had to actually write down the name of the candidate rather than just check a box. This is completely fair, yet fought back against the efforts of the usual suspects. The results will necessarily take longer to tally, but it looks like Poilievre has won a clear majority.

Let’s hope that the past 4 months have given Poilievre time to reflect on how incredibly terrible Canada has become and to what extent the Lieberals and their minions will go to never surrender power. Assuming he becomes Prime Minister one day, we’ll know if he’s serious about actual reform by whether, in his first year in office, he ends all public funding to the CBC and all other journalists, whether he gives all Canadians full free speech rights, and whether he gives the likes of Tamara Lich and Chris Barber a Record Suspension (aka Pardon). Failure to do all of these things will be a clear indication that he’s just another run-of-the-mill CINO and really doesn’t believe in the future of Canada.

And The Winner Is…

National Post- Poilievre sweeps to Battle River-Crowfoot byelection victory

Poilievre, who faces a leadership review early next year, needed to not only win the riding but post numbers similar to Kurek’s. With 150 of 286 polls reporting, Poilievre had 18,263 votes. Second-place runner Bonnie Critchley, an independent, had 2,124 votes. There were 214 candidates registered, many of them placed by the Longest Ballot Committee, a group that is advocating for electoral reform. Because of the length of the potential ballot, Elections Canada decided to go with a write-in system instead, slowing the vote count.

Coal Injunction, Part 2: their arguments against coal

The Coal Injunction, Part 2: Arguments against continued coal use made in injunction filings

A 12-year-old child, a podcaster and a Manitoban as well as Saskatchewan Environmental Society and Citizens for Public Justice have filed for an injunction to stop Saskatchewan’s recently announced plants to rebuild its coal fleet in its tracks. In Part 1, the stage is set. In Part 2, Pipeline Online digs into the legal filing, known as the “orginating application,” itself, laying out their arguments to end coal-fired power generation for good.

43lbs Of Fentanyl

Fentanyl, what fentanyl?

A new civil forfeiture case in British Columbia has surfaced extraordinary details about a clandestine fentanyl production network that investigators say operated with academic-level expertise, imported laboratory equipment from overseas, and, significantly, relied predominantly on 4-Piperidone, a precursor chemical that Chinese suppliers moved to after the U.S. government cracked down on previous analogs.

The Bureau’s analysis of the filing and information from expert sources suggests the network is consistent with the hybrid model now driving the global fentanyl trade: Chinese Communist Party–linked chemical suppliers, Mexican cartel distributors, and Iranian transnational networks partnering with Canadian gangs, notably the Wolfpack Alliance, to embed industrial-scale production inside British Columbia.

Seems like a ton of trouble to go to, just to supply a small Canadian market.

Tuesday On Turtle Island

Woke America:   VDH – The elusive peace.  Newsom the chameleon.   A moderate Muslim runs for mayor.

Lord Carney’s Canada:   The CBC does not support Hamas enough.   CBC celebrates gay ministers coming to gay Canada.  Transgender festival cancelled.   More unmarked graves??

Stories You Won’t Find At Carney’s CBC:   Abolish the hetero patriarchal capitalist world order.  Pride and patriotism.   A moderate Muslim scholar in Michigan.   A fascinating phenomenon.

Your morning meme.     Another meme.

“The world does not work as I imagined”

A good read.

Spaceman Spiff- I have no idea what is going on

Most of what we see, including apparent populism, is theatre. Decisions are typically made by elites. The rest is scenery and furniture to maintain the illusion of democratic controls.

When we think of elites we imagine wealthy powerful people, an aristocracy who constitute a ruling class. But the reality is more diffuse, with layers of people exerting control representing something closer to an elite hierarchy.

Deep Impact

NBC was so embarrassed by MSNBC that they showed up at the door and took their letters back.

Cable news channel MSNBC is going to rebrand as My Source News Opinion World, or MS NOW, according to a new report from the New York Times. The change is happening because Comcast’s NBCUniversal is spinning off many of its cable TV assets into a new company called Versant, severing ties with the “NBC” part of MSNBC.

HAHAHAHA: MSNBC Rebrands as MS NOW, but the Web Domain Is for Korean Snowmobiles
