02.08.2014 – We had a foretaste of being encumbered by ice a few days ago when we attempted to reach Arctic Bay, an Inuit settlement about 100 miles south of here. Soon after we had entered Admiralty Inlet that leads to Arctic Bay, we were quickly surrounded by ice. We gave up and turned around, but progress was occasionally impossible and it took us several hours to reach open water.

Analyses of the casualties listed in the daily reports published by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, a Gaza-based organization operating under Hamas rule, indicate that young males ages 17 to 30 make up a large portion of the fatalities, and a particularly noticeable spike occurs between males ages 21 to 27, a pattern consistent with the age distribution typically found among combatants and military conscripts. Palestinian sources attempt to conceal this discrepancy with their public message by labeling most of these young men as civilians.

A damning report (PDF) has been published by the U.S. Senate, which carefully describes how a handful of billionaires & millionaires control funding to assorted environmental groups. They, in turn, then make donations to America’s two major political parties. Guess which one they fund the most by far?

One scheme, led by the New York-based Park Foundation and California-based Schmidt Family Foundation, provides numerous grants to the New York-based SMF, which serves as the fiscal sponsor for multiple New York groups engaged in this effort, including Water Defense, Frack Action and Artists Against Fracking. During 2011, SMF gave $147,750 to Water Defense. The following year, SMF funneled a $150,000 grant “to support Water Defense” from Schmidt. Notably, Water Defense was founded in 2010 by actor Mark Ruffalo, who has an estimated net worth of $20 million and was listed on Time Magazines’ 2011 “People Who Mattered” for his anti-fracking efforts. In 2011, SMF gave Frack Action $324,198, with $150,000 stemming from Schmidt grants to SMF. Ironically, one of the Schmidt grants specified that $100,000 go “to support Frack Action’s grassroots campaign fighting for a ban on horizontal hydraulic fracturing”.

But it isn’t happening in a vacuum, because even as his team plays the impeachment card with gusto, the president is contemplating — indeed, all but promising — an extraordinary abuse of office: the granting of temporary legal status, by executive fiat, to up to half the country’s population of illegal immigrants.

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird is in hot water with the moral equivalency crowd. Some of the comments on the article provide a glimpse into how confused Modern Leftism has become, equating Hamas to Israel, America, Canada, etc.:

“Terrorist” is just a modern propaganda term for “resistance fighter” or “patriot”. Had the term been invented in the 18th century, the leaders of the French Revolution and the Boston Tea Party would have been labeled “terrorists”.
So says someone living on stolen First Nation land. From European ranks come a long line of thieves and killers of indigenous peoples.
Baird has no idea what Canadians think, feel or want their government to do. Him and Harper speaking for very few Canadians when it comes to the mess in the Middle East and his gratuitous “We mourn the loss in Gaza” but we fully support it is unbelievably insensitive and unqualified. Canada we have a rogue government, a government that came to power under the in and out scandal and should never have been allowed to remain the government of this country once they admitted to cheating in the 2006 elections. They need to be gone and the sooner the better. They have no clue of how to make things better but they have no problem with making them worse wherever they are.
Mr Baird’s comments are completely detached from reality and from the values shared by every single person I know. On my Twitter, I am sick of seeing bodies of Gazan families, especially the dead kids. Cheering on Israel’s ongoing massacre of an all-but-defenseless peoples is truly disgusting.

During the recent Calgary For Israel Rally, a small group of radical idiots across the street shouted “Heil Hitler!”
Thankfully, we have reporters like the Calgary Herald’s Erika Stark to bear witness:

Pro-Palestinian supporters are here across the street. Tensions rising. They’re shouting things I shouldn’t tweet.

No, no, of course not. In her later report published in the Calgary Herald, though, Stark quotes one of the “Palestinian protesters” as saying –

“Stop killing our kids. Give us food, give us water, give us shelter. Put religion and politics to the side. Kids are dying. That’s the main thing why we’re here.”

Here’s the thing: I was there. I watched them. I listened to them. Stark’s quote wasn’t even remotely the gist of their “argument,” and based on Stark’s own tweet, she knows it.
Get a different job, sweetie.

Mark October 27th on your calendar. It’s the date of the 2014 Toronto Mayoral Election. The next 86 days leading up to this will provide a textbook example of how a cabal of Left-of-Centre latte sipping talking heads in the Media Party will say anything in an attempt to destroy Rob Ford. Facts won’t matter. Fairness won’t matter. The only thing that’s relevant to these ideologues is to push over the finish line one of their “tax” or “tax even more” candidates.
Case in point is one Edward Keenan, who recently wrote this:

“Is he shameless, or ignorant?”
Well, that’s the question once you disregard the carnival funhouse of mayoral misfortune. When you gaze upon the profound lunacy of the crack smoking on video and the police investigation and the blitz tackling of a fellow councillor and the bragging about the all-you-can-eat buffet of marital bliss in his home, and so on and so forth, the only sane question to ask is: What! The! Hell!?!
But if you put those sideshows aside, and focus on his “record” as he’s always asking us to do, then you’re left to ponder either the soaring heights of his shameless dishonesty or the bedrock-cracking depths of his ignorance.

Keenan is a columnist, not a reporter, so he can opine in any way he wishes. However, given how the proverbial heads of these media pundits are likely to explode should Ford be victorious again, that should be sufficient reason alone for many Torontonians to vote for him!
Lest anyone has forgotten, here is one of the “star” candidates of the Toronto Media Party.

Can we all agree now that Hamas is a terrorist organization uninterested in peace? I’m looking at you fools in the White House and State Dept. Urban Ontario’s Poster Boy, Jeffrey Simpson, isn’t very happy with Stephen Harper and John Baird these days. He’s incredibly annoyed they’re standing up against Hamas and Putin … or something like that:

This new diplomacy is supposed to be based on “principles,” the accusation being that previous Canadian foreign policy was not. Rather, foreign policy had been based, Conservatives like to say, on “go along to get along,” or a lot of mushy pronouncements lacking purpose or direction, especially the full-throttle defence of Canada’s “interests.”

Lo and behold, Simpson is a Canadian pundit without principles. In other words, a perfect Liberal!
