Canada Revenue Agency recruting;
Our workforce represents a unique mix of identities, experiences and perspectives. When diversity is embraced, employees are able to learn, grow and contribute collectively to the success of the organization. Some of the communities represented in the organization are pictured on this page.
The CRA is also committed to employment equity and continues to strive for a representative work force. Employment equity is an essential component of the CRA’s human resources management practices and an integral part of the way we do business. Employment equity helps to remove employment barriers for members of the four designated employment equity groups: Indigenous Peoples, Visible Minorities, Persons with Disabilities, and Women.
Canada Revenue Agency performance;
Four years after a devastating auditor general report detailing serious issues with the Canada Revenue Agency’s call centre service, the taxpayers’ ombudsperson says that “most” of those problems still exist despite millions of dollars of investments to improve the service.
“I’ve read the (auditor general) report in 2017 and I’ve seen that most of the issues are still there. Because we do receive many complaints with regards to call centres,” Taxpayers’ Ombudsperson François Boileau said after tabling his latest annual report.
“It’s still not a good service, and so CRA needs to properly reflect on how they deliver this,” he added. “When you have to call a CRA agent, you brace yourself and you hope for the best. And it shouldn’t be that way.”
Update: Some have noted in the comments that Trudeau’s remarks here were taken out of context.
Context IS important. The turd was lamenting the fact that including the notwithstanding clause into the constitution was “a political calculation” on the part of his father. This whole discussion was precipitated by the Muslim teacher in Chelsea Quebec being removed because she was wearing a hijab.
I’ll remind everyone that this is the guy drawing up legislation to regulate our speech on the internet, who has forced healthy Canadians into “quarantine” hotels against their will. I don’t think context matters in his case, unless one wants to frame the remarks in the only way one can — as sanctimonious hypocrisy. Read it any way you please. It’s what he believes, notwithstanding clause notwithstanding.
Look, we don’t have any money for pot holes, sewer repairs or snow removal you’ll just have to make do.

The City is considering a one-time $100,000 contribution to help litigants, the National Council of Canadian Muslims, the World Sikh Organization of Canada, and the Canadian Civil Liberties Association.
Do city governments actually do anything related to their own cities?

Some countries and states have responded to Covid humanely and rationally. They seem aware that humanity cannot outrun a virus, and that punishing everyone with endless lockdowns and the removal of rights and freedoms is not acceptable in a democracy.
By contrast, I present to you Canada, which has opted for the clown route. In this, it has the support of most of its population, who are too brainwashed to admit that their compliance — not the virus itself — is what will ensure this “pandemic” goes on forever, and that there will be no “going back to normal.”
This past week, the Canadian government reintroduced on-arrival Covid testing and quarantine for travelers from all countries except the US. If you’re a Canadian and you did as you were told and pledged your allegiance to Pfizer, you still have to get tested before you can board a plane home and then get tested again upon arrival. You may still have to quarantine for fourteen days, even if vaccinated, if a border officer “determines that you must self-isolate.” That quarantine may have to take place in a “designated quarantine facility” so that select parties can at least profit from the end of civilization. Travelers from designated countries have already been forced into ill-equipped quarantine facilities despite being whatever now qualifies as “fully vaccinated” and having received a negative Covid test.
A Senior official urged staff to leave Number 10 through the back door on the night Boris Johnson hosted a Downing Street quiz last Christmas in apparent breach of lockdown rules.
And an email seen by the Mirror shows organisers had planned days in advance for some staff to enjoy the quiz in person, from the office.
The Mirror revealed on Sunday that the Prime Minister had helped host the quiz – and that some staff had spent the evening huddling and conferring around their office computers rather than dialling in from home.
Sources said staff had knocked back fizz, wine and beer – and some stayed in Number 10 socialising and drinking for hours after the quiz finished at 9.30pm.
London was then under Tier 2 regulations banning any social mixing between households.
Official guidance also stated: “You must not have a work Christmas lunch or party, where that is a primarily social activity and is not otherwise permitted by the rules in your tier.”
Number 10 has insisted the event, held on December 15 2020, was a “virtual quiz”, but admitted “those who were in the office for work may have attended virtually from their desks.”

We don’t even fund our search-and-rescue units properly. That’s the least controversial thing the military does.
The disaster in B.C. right now provides a fascinating example of this very problem. After landslides wiped out sections of highway, stranding hundreds of motorists and cutting off isolated communities from food and medicine, the RCAF’s 442 Squadron, based in Comox, B.C., sprang into action. You’ve probably seen footage of bright yellow helicopters rescuing civilians — those are the 442’s Cormorant helicopters. Canada, the world’s second-largest landmass, has … 14 of those. (A 15th crashed a few years ago.) This works out to about one Cormorant for every 714,000 square kilometres of land area.
Organized crime ‘knowingly and actively’ exploited federal pandemic benefits;
“I think this is one of those crimes of opportunity. Even at the time that the government announced these emergency relief measures, we knew some of that was bound to happen, because Ottawa has said quite explicitly that, you know, they’re not really fussed about interrogating, whoever’s applying, so it only stood to reason that some of the applicants would be fraudulent.”

I like Brian, but he’s late to this party.
It’s becoming clear that much of Canada’s ruling class hate who we are as a country.
The thought has been with me for a little while now, a sense that the people at the top wish Canada were somehow fundamentally different.
Why yes, Brian — yes they do. And they hate us in the rural west even more. And it’s not just elites. Judging by the venom launched on Liberal twitter at our politics and our industries, there’s a significant percentage who would just as soon see us dead.
