How Can We Further Divide Canada?
Looks like the next election will be a referendum on mandatory jabs.
Liberal.ca- Mandatory Vaccination
To finish the fight against COVID-19, protect people at work, ensure businesses can get back up to speed, and, most importantly, make sure our kids can safely return to school, we need to do everything we can to keep public spaces safe.
A re-elected Liberal government will:
-Require that travellers on interprovincial trains, commercial flights, cruise ships, and other federally regulated vessels be vaccinated.
-Ensure vaccination across the federal public service. As the country’s largest employer, this will protect the health and safety of the federal public servants and their communities, across Canada.
-We will also keep working with employers in Crown corporations and federally regulated workplaces to ensure vaccination is prioritized for workers in these sectors.

In art news:
The decision to adorn what was once the Women’s Museum with a, shall we say, transitioning figure, this “nourishing man,” is likely an attempt to comply with prevailing fashions regarding those individuals who are somewhat at odds with their physical selves. A trans-friendly gesture. Or, as the museum puts it, somewhat coyly, a sign of “gender inclusivity.”
It occurs to me, however, that a man being given large doses of cross-sex hormones and subsequently developing facsimile breasts isn’t going to lactate anything remotely nourishing for a child. Given sufficiently high doses of female hormones, and given sufficiently zealous pumping, some men can be made to secrete a substance from their nipples, albeit unreliably and in very limited quantities – but the resulting discharge is of no nutritional value to an infant.
Nothing To Worry About, Ladies
“I dare you to try and stop me from going into a women’s bathroom. It will be the last mistake you ever make… You’ve been warned.”
Competence Is Problematic
I’ll give you one example [of ‘equity’ double standards] that came across my desk, and which is so typical. The American Board of Internal Medicine is a sophisticated organisation that licenses and gives exams to people who want to become board-ready doctors in internal medicine. It’s a very difficult, long exam, traditionally, [but] now has this “diversity” initiative – they are going to go through all of the exams they administer and get rid of the questions that do not give equal outcomes for [all racial] groups, on the theory that these questions don’t recognise the “latent equality” of all groups.
On self-flattering fantasies; on a bedlamite horror story; and on ‘equity’ versus competence.
Everybody Wants to Rule the World
A must watch video. The real battle for global dominance is happening in the financial sectors and the central banks. Recent bank failures in Switzerland and the States are just the tip of the iceberg. Yes, its long (hour and a half). No, I can’t summarize it in two sentences. Grab a beverage, take the time, its well worth it. They start out talking a lot of inside baseball but if you’re a bit confused to begin with don’t worry it will make more sense as they get further into it.

Your Competence Is Problematic
We’ve gone through endless challenges to, and jettisoning of, entrance exams for police and firefighting in this country on disparate impact grounds. In New York City, there were decades of litigation brought against the firefighters’ exam, which expected firefighters to be able to read instructions on their gear, to be able to understand the chemical components of various firefighting foams and whatnot, and blacks failed that test of reading and cognitive skill at much higher rates than whites. So, the test had a disparate impact on blacks, even though the test was not discriminatory… But it was thrown out because it had a disparate impact.
On “diversity” versus competence, and the stupefying effects of “disparate impact” ideology.

The Year in Woke
Aaron Sibarium- The theme of my reporting this year was ideological capture and its consequences. From hospitals and nonprofits to corporations and the courts, “wokeness” isn’t just stifling free speech or inventing dumb neologisms; it is determining policy that affects millions of people.

Scottish Daily Express- Anger as EU project sees Police Scotland rebrand paedophiles as ‘Minor-Attracted People’
Chief Constable Iain Livingstone’s annual year end report refers to child abusers as Minor-Attracted People (MAPs). The move comes amid wider concerns by campaigners over what they see as attempts to rebrand paedophilia as a harmless sexual preference.
A spokesman for the force stressed that MAPs is not a term they routinely use to describe child abusers and said that its use in the report had to be understood in context.
The Year Reheated
In which we marvel at the mental contortions of our self-imagined betters…
Woke theatre criticism and its complications were topics in July, as two Toronto Star reviewers, Aisling Murphy and Karen Fricker, applauded each other, and thereby themselves, for seeing an indigenous play and submitting to strict conditions on what they may subsequently write about it. Indigenous theatre, we discovered, requires approval that is both pre-emptive and unanimous, and its writers, actors and directors must be exempt from unflattering feedback, i.e., reviews of a kind that paying customers might have found useful, had they been available. Untroubled by irony, the critics, or rather non-critics, then bemoaned the ongoing, quite rapid decline of their profession and of the wider newsprint media.
Cultivated incompetence was also championed by the Oregon Health Authority, on grounds that “urgency is a white supremacist value.” Whereas, in matters of health, tardiness and lack of forethought are apparently aspirational, a woke ideal.
We also noted the scrupulously intersectional priorities of Canadian women’s shelters, where a deranged dysmorphic man roaming the halls wearing only a bra and brandishing his genitals, along with several stolen kitchen knives, was deemed of much less importance than the fact that a female resident had dared to “misgender” him.

“Two Skaters”
CTV- Any two athletes can compete together domestically in ice dance, pairs: Skate Canada
Canada’s governing body of figure skating announced Tuesday that its definition of “team” for athletes training in the Podium Pathway will be revised to consisting of “two skaters.”
The previous definition was one woman and one man.
Let’s Do That Thing That Doesn’t Work
On the unhinged mouthings of academic and “theorist” Sophie Lewis:
So far as I can tell, and despite Ms Lewis’ theorising, mothers-to-be don’t generally feel a need to parse their pregnancy in terms of “abolishing the private nuclear household” and “global regimes of colonial and commodity exploitation.” Or indeed to champion abortion, via drugs or dismemberment, as a form of “anti-violence.” But that’s probably because – to borrow a phrase from Joan – they haven’t been tugging on the intersectional crack pipe.

Enforcing Conformity
eugyppius- The Malign Influence of Head Girls
Our governing elite are increasingly selected not for intelligence or ability, but for conscientiousness, agreeability and conformity. The consequence is a new kind of midwit tyranny.
Modern society is run by Head Girls, of both sexes … Modern colleges aim at recruiting Head Girls, so do universities, so does science, so do the arts, so does the mass media, so does the legal profession, so does medicine, so does the military…
The Head Girl can never be a creative genius because she does what other people want by the standards they most value. She will worker harder and at a higher standard in doing whatever it is that social pressure tells her to do – and she will do this by whatever social standards prevail, only more thoroughly. …
