The only thing worse than trolls on the ‘net are Internet Morality Cops. What’s worse than that? Moralizing politicians apologizing for stuff that has nothing to do with them. Don’t like drive-by’s? Do what everyone else on Twitter has done, leave. It isn’t like pols actually engage anyone on Twitter or Facebook. All that platform is to politicians is to fool the citizens into thinking their leaders are ‘accessible’. (Just like companies.)

That detail was available in plain sight in numerous news stories about Tina Fontaine’s disappearance, but none of the “professional” reporters had bothered to put two and two together, no doubt because the truth ruined a perfectly good narrative.
