My, didn’t our PM look smug as he took his seat there. I imagine I’ll see that clip on Facebook a lot this week with the title, “Trudeau DESTROYS on question of childcare”.
PS –don’t you love how CBC clips all end with with a final ominous musical note (I’m not sure if it’s a drum or cymbal) They’ve stolen that from the tv series ‘The Prisoner’ where prison gates crash shut on the hero in the end of each episode. Fitting they’d take that from there, given that they see themselves as running the village.

A lousy $150 million/yr. is hardly enough compensation for all the whoring they did on behalf of the Liberals and the collective left. So now they start ramping up the pressure. Its not like the Ceeb are generating any more revenue then their private sector counterparts. In fact they clearly see the writing on the wall. Broadcast media is becoming nothing more than a bit player generating minor revenues in the new media environment. The only way to guarantee fat city is through 100% government subsidy of the bidness. Now, like an abusive spouse, they start throwing punches at the partner they brought into the deal.

On a related note the middle class tax break is coming into law. So, at 45k per year I will receive an extra $56 per month. Wow! Now, when the other shoe drops – increased EI, increased CPP, carbon tax on fuel, Cap n Trade, loss of income splitting with my stay at home wife – I’ll be paying them an additional $112 per month.
Typical Liberal largesse. Give with the right hand and shaft big time with the left.
I’m still trying to figure out how many hours these “special assistants” are working. Are they being paid for working during the day and then also paid while they are sleeping in case the kids wake up? Should they not get extra danger pay as the Trudeau household is a known target for knife-wielding intruders?
And I’ll bet he’s not paying for his own groceries like Harper did. Not many know this but Harper estimated what a family of four would pay for groceries and remitted that amount each month.
Just curious, how wealthy is Justin? I was always under the impression that he inherited a lot of money from his father. Not true?
Re nannies: one does not have to be a really high income family to require one; one just has to be a two-income family where the job requirements are such that the normal hours of the local daycare don’t work. Number one grandchild came along, and mat leave was over, so what were they going to do? They tried a daycare near one parent’s work, but the hours were such that – should that parent have to stay late – we would be emergency pickup (assuming other parent couldn’t do so – and that parent’s hours were seriously erratic). In effect, meant we would be “on call” five days a week. Didn’t take them long to figure out that a nanny – though more costly – actually worked for their schedules.
Have another child who is looking to getting a nanny – again not a matter of being high income; rather erratic hours for the wage-earners. Not to mention that – when a child is ill – the nanny can come where the day care cannot and will not.
There’s your issue: a two-income family. Nothing says “I love you, child” like giving them to strangers for 8+ hours a day so Mommy can have the newest iPhone.

I always found it strange considering how much money from his father’s gas stations and later sale to Petro Canada Pierre Trudeau made how little the children inherited relatively speaking. Did Pierre Trudeau give it to Fidel Castro or to the Catholic Church towards the end? And Trudeau was notoriously cheap.
