So Soros’s rented enviroterrorist thugs got what they wanted.
You got it.
Just wait, it’s about to get better….now JT has the perfect excuse to “revamp” the NEB and remove any semblance of neutrality into another political arm of the government (look at G&M editorial yesterday). Someone should also make the argument that if it’s so dangerous to send oil out via Montreal, it is too dangerous to let oil in to Montreal from the other direction.
Simple.Cut off flow of equalization in other direction. When Coderre’s pig snout has no more free money to munch on maybe he’ll change his tune.
The whole purpose of these shenanigans is to completely subjugate western Canada, forever crush any sense of economic or political independence, and to enslave and make us eternal vassals of the east.
Confederation no longer exists as there are certain regions of the country (namely Quebec and southern Ontario) that are now more equal than the rest.
It’s dictatorship by any other name.
That was easy… didn’t even have to drag out the Indian card… a corrupt “Liberal” Mayor ( does anybody believe one can become Mayor of Montreal without organized crime consent) a few Soros funded thugs (“environmentalists”) an article in the Glob@Plop and an idiot actor handled by radical enviro terrorists like comrade Butts was all it took to shut down an already politicized process. If I get this right its the Trutardo Government declaring that when it comes to energy policy you can’t trust the Government… at least not until at some point in the future when Trutardo and the Libranos declare that its okay to trust the Government, again… nice… Canada is back baby!
I can just hear the NEB saying “the people have spoken”……
Some people have spoken.
Meanwhile Hydro Quebec after spending millions on a building behind its headquarters called Equiterre which offers subsidized rent to ecological activists, has announced it will spend $100,000 on a green think tank in Montreal.
Huff’N’Puff Coderre is all about politics, he’s Mayor of Montreal, a place that dumps raw sewage into the St Lawrence last time I checked. Quebec with all her resources, cheap hydro power etc is perpetually on the dole as a have-not province. Thumbing their noses at the sources of their “equalization” bucks is proving beggars can be choosers. Only in Quebec, the spoiled brat of confederation.
Time for AB to separate and shut-off all oil/gas/power flowing east at the MB border. Let the eastern bastards freeze in the dark. Oh.Who am I kidding. We were stupid enough to elect Red Rachel. Her and mafioso Coderre share the same bed. Threats to western civilization as bad or worse then the muzzies.
There in OSOYOOS BC lies an FIRST NATIONS INDIAN BAND, whose CHIEF IS CLARENCE LOUIE.
Louie is a NATION BUILDER BUSINESS MAN, second to NONE!
Let Louie loose on the Alberta oil sands issue!
He will get CANADA back onto the WORLD STAGE, by-passing ALL OTHER COUNTRIES!

What the He** is going on with this site…tells me it timed out or error something and still it goes through? Crazy!
I wonder if a strong western separatist movement is what PMJT wants as his legacy. “The man who split up Canada” will be remembered, and that seems to be what he wants.
Liz – it’s something at the end of the script that’s timing out, almost always after your comment has been accepted but before the page can refresh. Copy your comment to a notepad and wait a minute, it’ll usually show up.
The above is a case in point. It timed out. But it posted. I can now delete the copy I had put in Notepad.
The west certainly needs to take an Independence stance on these issues. But will Westerner’s including politicians have the kahonys to withstand the labelling that the MSM will hurl at us?
Brad Wall is the only political voice that stands for the west. He is under extreme pressure from the other premiers to capitulate to the feds agenda. Clark, Notley, Paliser are not western allies.
I have thought it would be a good idea to leave ever since PM LeFluff’s commie sympathetic father gave us the finger.
The communists and the eco-fascists win again. Is there no one left in the leadership of this country who has the courage to stand up to these civilization destroyers.
It will be very good if Trump gets elected. He can deal effectively with this eco-craziness. Perhaps he will be able to get Keystone through. Canadians (and especially Albertans) should not put up with this crap.
Amusing that the Dauphin is in China now trying to get investment for Canadian oil, and wondering why the Chinese are not lining up to invest. Apparently, he doesn’t consider
* an NDP gov’t in AB committed to raising carbon limits, instituting carbon taxes, and imposing more environmental restrictions,
* the current world wide glut of oil and concomitant low prices
* a federal gov’t seemingly unable to make decisions for the good of the country (Northern Gateway, Energy East, Keystone)
Of course, maybe, like his dad, he’s just over there to bone up on the Chinese ‘basic dictatorship’ before trying to impose it here.
Certainly not among the brown bag bunch running Ottawa these days.
PM Peter Principle’s toughest negotiation in Chiner, will be to decide between Dim Sum or Stir Fry.
Business meetings? Anything beyond river rafting, and he has no background, experience, knowledge or intelligence to do anything of any substance.
Maybe pot.
After watching the recent reader’s tips videos, there does seem to be a parallel between the Aztecs and our modern climate doomsters.
Just like the Aztec who believed that greater and greater amounts of blood had to be sacrificed to appease the sun god, the green-shirts believe that western prosperity based on the use of fossil fuel must be sacrificed to appease an angry mother earth.
Agreed! It is high time to reconsider Western Canada as a separate nation. Think of Brexit – we can do this thing!
The Eatern slime cannot be allowed to prevent our resources from getting to market any longer. This truly is history repeating itself. We need to do this before too many eastern migrants move here and influence our electoral results( it’s happening already, as evidenced by the number of Maple Laff sweaters you see at our home games). I don’t know about you folks but in BC there are a lot of transplanted, politically asinine young Trudope fans lately, obviously looking for jobs since OT and QB have fecked up economically.

Why not send the oil to Thunder Bay and load it in small tankers to send to St. John? They have something like a 9 month season. Prairie farmers paid for the Seaway by the government shipping most our grain east instead of using Pacific and Hudson’s Bay ports.
Wikipedia – “Seawaymax vessels are 740 feet (225.6 m) in length, 78 feet (23.8 m) wide, and have a draft of 26.51 feet (8.08 m) and a height above the waterline of 35.5 metres (116 ft). A number of lake freighters larger than this size cruise the Great Lakes and cannot pass through to the Atlantic Ocean.”
Some of you may not know this, but after the liberals got caught red handed in the Adscam scandal, Denis Coderre went bezerk, he was often on tv and was agressively defending the liberals…I wish my memory was better and I could remember more details but he put on quite a show
it was not only shocking how he defended the liberals but he was acting in bizarre ways, I wish I had taped some of that…the guy is bizarre
but that is not all, in the end because most people realized the liberals were 100% guilty and that even Coderre himself had dirty hands ( yep he too was involved in adscam, apparently made lots of money too from brown enveloppes but never paid a big price for it), he did something very bizarre, he let his beard grow very long and went on a sort of religious or almost religious mission, I think it was in Iraq
he did that so the people would forgive him, a sort of redemption
what is worse is that this show he put on worked!!! after his self imposed “punishment” most quebecers forgave him and fell back in love with him!!!
A lot of people here in quebec ( yep I’m in quebec…did not say I was happy about it ) love him
me? I hate him, I find him a repulsive person capable of anything…
he is very manipulative, he crushes like a buldozers people who disagree with him, he intimidates them then says nice things to manipulate them again, he is way too well connected thus always gets out of trouble, etc
I predict that in a few years some new scandal will “explode” and we will find out that Denis Coderre was deeply involved with some very bad people, either the mafia or something like that.
the guy is capable of anything and is so crooked, it oozes out of him!!
I’m telling you, one day someone will discover the truth about that man and it will be shocking, like lifting a rock and finding repulsive insects.
The solution would be simple if our government wasn’t run by retards. Since the ecoterrorists shut down this meeting, the pipeline gets automatic approval. The other side had a chance to have their say, they decided to act like children and threw a temper tantrum. You don’t reward tantrums. Show them their actions have consequences.
“PM Peter Principle’s toughest negotiation in Chiner, will be to decide between Dim Sum or Stir Fry.”
They’ve made it easy for our Prime Mincer – they’ve come up with 2 new dishes for him and Sophie: Sum Dum Gai, and Wing Ding Sing.
Note to Coderre:
– shut up you moron, go dump some more sewage into the St Lawrence
– the belugas will survive pipelines, so give it a rest. I’m not sure if Montrealers can stand much more of the fiscal beating you’re inflicting on them.
– you’re the mayor of Montreal, not the king of Canada, so once again shut up and mind your own business
– in case you were wondering moron, pipelines are federal jurisdiction.
– why are you shooting off your yap when your boy king has already decreed paralysis by analysis of all pipelines and prosperity? Poverty will save us all.
– oh I know, it’s all about you, including the rent a thugs, and especially the alt lefties who want to take us all back to subsistence (not them btw).
– prove my case? No thanks do your own research. Better still go jump into a sewage pool.
– the onus of proof is on those who wish to take away liberty, not its victims. BTW, pipelines carry oil and money; one does not flow without the other.
What you are proposing presupposes rational governance. Progressive dominance in our culture and politics dictates that bad and deceitful behavior is rewarded, particularly if it fits the watermelon narratives. If not, we would see widespread opposition to Muslim immigration.
PM Selfie is in China to get lessons on how to run a “basic dictatorship.”
Don’t forget where PM Twerp’s riding is. If he doesn’t give Coderre whatever he wants, he’ll be booted from office in the next election.
Ken;
My support of Reform took a real hit when Manning guided a vote for moving the Party east. I was with a group who wanted to add a provincial wing and form governments in the western provinces. A united West might have yielded some of the Reform Platform.
Fundamentally there are cultural and economic differences between east and west that only co-exist because the West is complacent and truly does not know the extent of the exploitation that they suffer from. The old adage of ‘follow the money’ could not have more basis than in Western Canada. This is not something new it has been going on since the country was formed.
Consider the cost of industrialization of Ontario and Quebec. $100’s of billions of dollars spent on the largest and costliest project in Canada’s history. The Oil Sands have nothing on this especially since the oil sands were funded with private money. Industrializing Ontario and Quebec was to cheapen goods for all Canadians and put Canada on a firmer economic path. I suggest that this project has been largely a failure. Because of this failure the need to steal even more money from the West is accelerating. I am very confident that the ‘carbon tax’ the feds bring in will never see the West again.
The Byfields in their day regularly ran articles on the extent of how much money flowed east. Until some group starts to record and publish this reality westerners will never really understand.
Just cancelling the hearings mean end of pipeline, or just a pipeline now without the hearings?.. An “end around”.. Or surrender monkeys?..
These perennial rent-seekers protest anything and everything. It’s what their twitter-linked group does for ‘fun’ to spice-up their boring mediocre lives and get a shot at having their picture published.
Arrest them and haul them away with bags over their heads.
Thanks CT, you are correct in that the Reform Party should have gone provincial – Water under the bridge now. Alberta should still look very seriously at separation, or at joining the US. I am serious! We get nothing from Canada, other than we get screwed continually.
If we left confederation we could at least sell our oil down south at better prices. I know, we do export our oil to Texas by the trainload but we will get a better deal sending it south, and we won”t have to pay equalization. Our ‘Tinkerbell’ PM will not have venture east to China to access markets or people (read “Nexen”) to develop those resources. Like we don’t have the manpower or the expertise to develop OUR RESOURCES ON OUR OWN! It was the feds that allowed Nexen to be sold to CNOOK. (Are ya listening Laurie Hawn, former MP – Edmonton West???) Those same feds refused to allow the sale of some of the potash deposits in Saskatchewan to Australia. I would far sooner have someone on our side have control over potash than have China have control over anything in Canada beyond Walmart.
Problem solved, no more Coderre and no more Tinkerbelltrudeau. (He seems to believe that he just has to wave his magic wand and “TINK” the problem just disappears. Gone!)
This NEB process is a waste of time and TransCanada Pipeline is no friend to Western Canada by going through this permitting process. Instead of wasting time on pipeline application through Quebec and New Brunswick which will never get built in our lifetimes, we should be concentrating on shipping oil through the existing TransCanada pipeline from the Sask/AB border to Cornwall. The pipeline is there, it’s in the ground and we could start shipping oil DOWN the Saint Lawrence to foreign customers immediately. It shouldn’t be a problem, foreign oil was being shipped UP the Saint Lawrence to Montreal refineries for decades without anybody complaining. I wrote to everyone I could think of, including Brad Wall, suggesting that they permit that section of pipeline first. I didn’t even get any interest.
Why was the hearing adjourned today? Are Montreal police so useless they can’t remove 3 protesters and allow the hearing to start say an hour layer.
GREAT comment CT. That was my exact take at the time. Why the Manning lead Reform Party held the conference in Saskatoon(NDP) territory when cutting out the grassroots base from contributing input on expanding the Party East is in retrospect a complete sellout and yet seemed reasonable to some people(not me) I’ll never know.
Well do I remember going to Art Hanger’s office and buying a renewed Reform Party membership and saying as I shook Art Hanger’s hand that I would be voting for Stockwell Day against Preston Manning because of the Saskatoon Conference.
Art Hanger, a staunch loyal supporter of Preston Manning, was obviously chagrined as I said that while shaking his hand.
Never-the-less, Art Hanger was my MP and I supported him votewise and with money while he fought(in Art’s words) “The political fight of his life.”
The food at that single particular candidacy campaign speech was the crappiest food I ever scarfed down at a political event or really at any public event. It was CRAP, Art. You gave the food concession to vismin deadbeats and the food was SHIT.
Still, it was better supporting a man who was a Cabinet Minister(Minister of Defence) who had a stellar political career, and 25 years in the Calgary Police Force, in Harper’s government than the no-name vismin backbencher who replaced you because of sheer skin colour, Art Hanger.
Damn, I’m starting to hate politics. But Damn I can’t quit and let the lowlifes dictate my life without fighting back.

Jim Carr’s full of it:

People at both ends of a pipeline are the ones who benefit the most from it. That’s why Montreal opposes Energy East because it can’t skim off its cut, money which it feels it’s entitled to.
