Safety Last

Maybe further investigation will be forthcoming, but I’m not holding my breath.

Covid vaccines could be partly to blame for the rise in excess deaths since the pandemic, scientists have suggested.

Researchers from The Netherlands analysed data from 47 Western countries and discovered there had been more than three million excess deaths since 2020, with the trend continuing despite the rollout of vaccines and containment measures.

They said the “unprecedented” figures “raised serious concerns” and called on governments to fully investigate the underlying causes, including possible vaccine harms.

Writing in the BMJ Public Health, the authors from Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, said: “Although Covid-19 vaccines were provided to guard civilians from suffering morbidity and mortality by the Covid-19 virus, suspected adverse events have been documented as well.

Off Target

Target obviously didn’t get the memo: the marginal consumer is tapped out.

Target severely missed earnings expectations on Wednesday, spooking investors who are now sending the retailer’s stock price toward its worst daily drop in over two years and its third-worst day in the stock market ever.

The company’s share price tanked 21% on Wednesday morning after it reported a sales decline, lower profit, and a stockpile of unsold inventory.

The Canadian Premiers Want an Exclusive Free Trade Agreement with America

Ontario Premier Doug Ford says that he, and the other Canadian premiers want a direct free trade deal with America, excluding México altogether.

This is likely a good idea for Canada but here’s a suggestion for the Trump administration:

  1. Trudeau must resign immediately.
  2. Require a Festivus-like event on Pay Per View, where Trump’s surrogates get to highlight the endless rhetorical attacks of Canadian politicians and bought-and-paid-for legacy media talking heads against him over the past 4 years.  David Freiheit, Tamara Lich, and Jordan Peterson should host this week long, 3 hours per night event.  Live public apologies from the “offenders” will be mandatory or negotiations will be called off.  All money raised should be given directly to helping Canadian & American military veterans who are struggling in Trudeau’s economy.
  3. Demand that Canadians be given full free speech rights, equivalent to the U.S. First Amendment, written into law before negotiations can proceed forward.

Alberta MP Randy Boissonnault has resigned from cabinet amid allegations about his business dealings and criticism of his shifting claims about his Indigenous ancestry.

“The prime minister and MP Randy Boissonnault have agreed that Mr. Boissonnault will step away from cabinet effective immediately. Mr. Boissonnault will focus on clearing the allegations made against him,” a spokesperson for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a statement. .

That Trudeau is a fickle one.

The Rampant Ignorance of Too Many Canadians

Elon Musk recently reposted this interview. It reminded me of countless conversations I’ve had with countless Canadians about what constitutes “hate speech” and who decides it. My thoughts on this crystalized back in 2008, when Mark Steyn started being dragged through 3 separate “Human Rights” commissions in Canada. It quickly became apparent that these were all farces, run by people with Far Left political bents. Facts and real justice did not matter a whit to these clowns. Yet countless Canadians today, almost 17 years later, still think our governments and their apparatchiks and the legacy media are fair & balanced.  Is there a better term than “insanely ignorant and naive” to describe such folks?
