    The default model of the UN, and by extension the ICC et al, is corruption, dystopia, despotism; in short, a gang of organized criminals. Why would any nation want to emulate that other than in service to dictators?

    I think we should arrest any member of the ICC who sets foot on Canadian soil and fire any their bureaucrats here.

  21. How does this work? Israel is not a member of the ICC. Hamas doesn’t have a status to be a member of anything. The ICC, therefore, is operating in violation of recognizing sovereign nation state status. By their own policy, any individual who is alleged to have committed crimes within the jurisdiction of the ICC may be brought before the ICC.

    Here’s the problem. Israel is not a member, and, therefore, not within the jurisdiction of the ICC. Nations who signed the Rome Accord (such as Canada) who arrest Netanyahu will be in violation of their own law. So, go ahead and do it. Watch how the US responds to something like that after January 20th.

    2. A member of the ICC was transgressed by Netanyahu and thus Netanyahu is indeed arrestable for his actions once he steps upon the soil of any signatory nation to the ICC. He can plead his case in front of an International Tribunal. That’s how it works. Nations signed up to allow themselves to be subject to the rules of the ICC. Now, Israel is free to petition the ICC to lay dictats against members of Hamas etc etc, but, guess what? The supposedly High IQ denizens of the Middle East are not members of the ICC. Actions, or inactions have consequences.

        Which member of the ICC would that be? Because the State of Palestine signed the Rome Accord. Canada recognizes the Palestinian Authority…not the State of Palestine. 53 nations do not recognize the State of Palestine. That’s a significant number of the States that signed the Rome Accord.
