Boom And Then Bust

It took long enough, but higher interest rates are starting to have a negative impact on the housing market. A big problem today is that buyers of pre-sold condos, who often put a deposit down years in advance, are starting to walk away as they can now pick up a similar unit at a greatly reduced price. Whoever financed these projects is going to be looking at a very ugly balance sheet going forward.

New condo sales in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area are continuing to drop off, falling 81 per cent in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year, according to a new report by Urbanation.

The report, published Friday, shows that in the third quarter of this year, there were just 567 new condo sales in the GTA and Hamilton, the lowest quarterly total since 1995. This also represents a 87 per cent decline from the 10-year average for third-quarter sales in the region.

Blacklock’s- Warns Budget Trouble Looms

Cabinet is three to four weeks away from budget trouble due to ongoing Commons gridlock.

Anand on Monday tabled a budget document Supplementary Estimates (B) that asked Parliament to vote for another $24.8 billion in spending by Christmas.

“Is there a possibility it won’t pass?” asked a reporter. “Yes,” replied Anand.

Globe and Mail- A Parliament that is dead on the inside

The nominal cause of death is a filibuster launched by the Conservative opposition in late September. But the actual cause is the Trudeau government’s contemptuous refusal to hand over an unredacted set of documents that the House ordered it to produce in a motion passed in June.

A Major Shake-up of the White House Briefing Room is Required

Ever wonder who is allowed into the White House Briefing Room?  Here are some little known facts you may not be aware of.

The fact is, the legacy media have proven themselves to be illegitimate; merely apparatchiks of the Deep State / Democrats. What should happen, beginning on January 21, 2025 is that well known podcasters, or their designates, who have proven themselves to be honest brokers, should be given the first rows of seats. They shouldn’t be sycophants for either party. All legacy media can then sit behind them.

Tulsi Gabbard: A Litmus Test

I’ve always had a strong intuition and believe I’m a very good judge of character.  My intuition tells me that Tulsi Gabbard is an honorable person and deeply loves America.

I’m bemused by those who have, and are currently, besmirching her, not providing any proof whatsoever.  Here’s a partial list:

  • Hillary Clinton
  • John Bolton
  • Debbie Wasserman Schultz
  • The Witches of The View
  • A cabal of legacy media apparatchiks
  • Bari Weiss

I’m still hopeful that the last one will sincerely apologize to Gabbard.  As for the others, they are amongst the most despicable people in America and have done SO MUCH damage to the country.  If you believe them, you clearly are susceptible to even the weakest propaganda.

Update: Tulsi talks with Jordan Peterson

Pre-emptive stigmatization

I ran across this Michael Malice where he interviews Bret Weinstein to discuss a tactic commonly used by the mainstream media to discredit a foe before they even discuss that person’s ideas. I call it “pre-emptive stigmatization”. We see it used to tag conservatives as “far-right” or RFK as a “conspiracy theorist”, which sets the stage for the consequent attempt to demolish their reputation.

As Malice says, “…as soon as I can create the impression that someone’s a ‘them’… I don’t need to listen to anything that they have to say because they’re not us…they’re the bad guys…We see this very often with corporate journalists…they’ll say ‘Joe Rogan, a podcaster with a history of transphobic jokes’, so before you even get into any information I the journalist am telling the reader he’s a ‘them’… this guy’s trouble… I’ve already pre- stigmatized him and once you see that they do this it’s pervasive and it’s definition by non-essentials and definition by stigma…”

#Pocahontas – come get your boy.

For years, Employment Minister Randy Boissonnault spoke in Parliament and at public events of his great-grandmother as “a full-blooded Cree woman.”

Now, facing scrutiny over shifting statements he made about his connections to Indigenous ancestry and, presented with records suggesting otherwise, Boissonnault’s office acknowledges that this was not true and his adoptive great-grandmother’s family in fact had Metis lineage, and she was not “full-blooded Cree.”

Questions surrounding Boissonnault’s heritage emerged following a National Post report revealing that the business he co-owned called itself fully “Indigenous” and “Aboriginal-owned” as it tried to bid on federal contracts reserved for Indigenous businesses.

The minister has said his former business partner made that bid without his knowledge and did not consent to it.

How DARE you call that Pretendian a fraud!
