…whenever I see the name of any Ivy League university, I immediately associate it with decadence, decline, and unearned privilege. I think those universities symbolize what’s wrong with America, and long have. I grew up in a generation in which the Ivy League schools were places to aspire to attend. Now, the worst ideas and practices come from them. When candidate (now Senator) J.D. Vance said at NatCon a while back that “universities are the enemy,” it was shocking for two reason: first, because it was so hardcore populist, and second, because it’s, um, true.
I didn’t take him to be saying that universities per se are problematic, and certainly not that intellectual thought is bad. He was pointing to the deep intellectual and moral corruption of the academy in our time. These are institutions that form the American ruling class, yet they create a leadership class that is frail, arrogant, unaccountable, and committed to illiberal left wing ideas that are destroying the capacity of our country to thrive. As a conservative, I believe in natural elites and hierarchies. But the hierarchy we have now is a bad one, and it’s taking the country down.
AP News- NHL, its workforce 84% white, sets baseline to up diversity
“The whole purpose behind doing a workforce study is to provide a baseline: a fact-based baseline so that you can begin to develop very intentional and specific strategies around where you need to hire, how you need to hire, how you need to improve your brand,” said Kim Davis, the NHL’s executive vice president of social impact, growth and legislative affairs.

At the University of Saskatchewan choosing your gender is science.
The school’s board voted Tuesday to ban discrimination based on a person’s gender identity, two-spirit identity or gender expression.
Also, race is a social construct.
A significant policy change at the University of Saskatchewan is going to implement a documentation verification process to confirm the membership and citizenship of people with Indigenous heritage.
Thus concludes today’s Ways Of Knowing* update.

New York Times- White Sox Call Josh Donaldson’s ‘Jackie’ Comments Racist
Donaldson, the Yankees’ third baseman, said his remarks to Tim Anderson referenced a magazine article in which Anderson said he was “today’s Jackie Robinson.”
White Sox Manager Tony La Russa didn’t mince words when he was asked what happened between Yankees third baseman Josh Donaldson and Chicago shortstop Tim Anderson on Saturday.
“He made a racist comment,” La Russa said of Donaldson. “That’s all I’m going to say.”
What we need is “insensitivity” training for thin skinned mid-wits.

Jonathon Kay- When Disagreement Becomes Trauma
How does one deal with those who claim that debate itself represents an agony beyond human endurance?
Like the report as a whole, the supplied definition of “truthing” contained within is written in a way that makes dissent impossible: It is “the act of stating truths on subject matter considered difficult and/or dangerous knowledge, in contexts of hyper policing, surveilling, and micro-managing of racialized bodies … while simultaneously addressing power relations and injustices which actively interrogate the discomfort, denial, disavowal, erasure, and censure that accompanies truthing the subject-matter.” In other words, to refute a truthing isn’t an act of mere disagreement, but rather a symptom of the truth-denier’s bigotry and intellectual dishonesty.
Birthing bodies have the right to freedom.
Deciding if or when to become a parent is one of the most personal, life-changing decisions. Access to abortion & reproductive care is a decision we must trust each person to make based on what’s best for their health & their future.

These is a moment of intersectionality opportunity. Do not allow the left the luxury of the word “woman” in the context of this nearly erupted debate wherever it arises. Correct them at every turn. Remind them they are not biologists. Shove their preferred pronouns back down their throats until they gag.

Last time Parliament invoked emergency measures it was because they found a body in the trunk of a car. It wasn’t because somebody heard a CBC story on the way to work.
And lots more. Have a listen.
Richard Owens- The Emergencies Act wasn’t the only sledgehammer
Invocation of the Emergencies Act to end the truckers’ protest in Ottawa shocked civil libertarians here and around the world. A proposed class action started by Ottawa residents Zexi Li and Geoffrey Devaney and the Happy Goat Coffee Company may be just as disturbing.
