If I understand correctly, it would leave this matter up to states to enact laws. Given the US has a right to free movement, go move to California if you want to. Also, USA is not like Canada where you can’t escape to another country.

Yes, we do not live in 1922 but in 2022 when birth control is easily and widely available (often for free). I am ashamed of my own sex – women can be irresponsible gits. You can have great sex and NOT get pregnant. If your birth control fails, adoption or keeping the child involves no shame these days and usually a lot of support,
As for needing abortion because of incest or rape, the numbers on such are questionable at best. But are we not past the time when children paid the price for the sins of their father? If charged and convicted the father might get 15 years but out in 7 years, yet the child is given the death penalty? What kind of society is that?
Women – if you want to be seen has grown up people, time to take responsibility for your actions and it starts by becoming responsible for your sex life and using birth control.
There’s also significant issues with abortion: I forget the exact number, but a crazy-high number of women are pressured into getting an abortion even though they don’t want it. And abortions are not safe precedures, in part because the leftists fly into a frenzy when someone tries to require any modicum of professionalism and medical precautions in abortion clinics.
And children with aborted siblings get survivor’s guilt and fear what will happen if they are later deemed unwanted.
And that’s not even getting into whether or not abortion is murder and if an unborn is a person or not, but I don’t feel like arguing it here.

Yup, that was my first thought on hearing of the leak and “Biden’s” comment. It’s a fact that some people feel so strongly about abortion rights that they will ignore any and all other issues when it comes to voting. And Biden’s puppet-masters know this.

I believe that is what this “decision” is about – pushing the legislating of abortion back to the state level – not making a ruling on the banning of it.
That would be good for the vaccine mandate debate as well – make it state level. You would see an absolute exodus out of states with mandatory vaccines – as such they would not do it. Thats why they need to make it federal .

The SCOTUS, if this is true, is just following the constitution and returning the right to legislate abortion to individual states.
This court does not find that the power to control abortion is enumerated in the constitution. Everything that is not enumerated in the constitution as the responsibility of the federal government is the responsibility of individual states. It is easier for pro killing segment of the progressive left to just fight on one front than on 50, but it is not constitutional (unless Congress wants to make it so).

I would argue that abortion is more about poverty and lack of options than race. Also, in the USA, the number of abortions peaked in 1990 and has been declining ever since. More white women than black women have abortions, although by percentage of population, black women lead in number. Abortions by total number have dropped by 50% since 1990.

Average number of deaths in Saskatchewan in a year is approximately 9800. I believe it was around 10,400 including Covid last year.
Average number of abortions in Saskatchewan is 9,000 per year.
So I need to revise the first number to 9800 + 9000 = 18,800. Covid is barely a sneeze in comparison.
