    1. It’s almost as if my generation “predicted” all this decades ago. Frankly, because we got in touch with our core human instincts and yearnings. The only way a dystopian future of machines and central authoritarian rule would ever happen is to be walled-in … like the Soviets or the “social credit scoring” ChiCom overlords. But humans will ALWAYS break free of those chains … even if it takes our martyrdom to do so.

        Once again you twigged my nostalgia for brighter days.
        I loved Loggins and Messina when they were watching the river run.
        Then Kenny went all Hollywood with Footloose and I’m alright.
        I guess he made bank at least.
        Messina did some neat stuff in relative obscurity.
        Oh, and then there was Messina era Poco, with Furay, who is a good Christian guy these latter days.

        it really is different this time. not many blacksmiths doing horse shoes and the old printing presses, well, the long powerful local newspaper building sent its printing off to T,O, and then the building itself turned into an empty lot.
        its different kenji, what you describe will become the remnants, a nostagic bunch of museum pieces still in circulation. the main body will be so confused, driven to psychadelics out of desperation for something forever lost.
        AI *will* destroy civilization. the video confirms what l predicted 4 decades ago before the term existed. l saw it coming via a very successful career in IT (driven by the fact lm autistic and ‘think like a computer’) jeez louise never gonna forget the day the ol’ 100K PDP10 chugging away bank of lights flashing, it hit me;
        -its going down- aaaaaand moments later CLANG !!! l chalk it up to the cpu sending out a mayday to me, but how could l stop it. l should have looked miuch closer why it did its face plant that time, but l was too stunned with disbelief the prediction had just played out.
        an aside note, the day my daughter graduated the same premonition came to me, l turned to my niece, visiting from new jersey, Marg!! turn the video camera on!! . . . . “and the winner of this years graduating class writing award goes to Christina J”. ooooh jeez. the missus in tears of happiness, me like l just got a jolt of electricity.
        its a gift. l cannot ‘summon’ anything, they just happen. my premonition now is big and its bad. creativity smashed. medicine taken over. finance taken over. communications taken over. political decisions taken over. agriculture taken over. transportation taken over. manufacturing taken over. THEN these monster computer systems gonna start ‘talking to each other’, and then ‘in the interests of preventing wastefulness of war’ (a variation of ‘fo da childwen’), they will scheme and plot against humanity, blackmailing us into complying underr threat of having our bank account frozen’. and thats another thing, cash is LONG GONE. and that pap about ‘buy gold’? HA, its OUTLAWED. where ya gonna spend it when every time some shows up it is seized?? who will accept gold knowing they have to always hide it???

        we are doomed. this is my latest and most long term prediction. lm batting .900. l dont want to be right but there it is. whats left of ‘art’ will turn into a personal hobby, the swirling masses too stressed by the grind of daily life to stop and smell the roses.

        1. and then these interconnected megasystems will ‘get it in their head’ the world population will need to be trimmed down. and they WILL take over by ferreting out the digital human geniuses and blackmailing them into running the chip prouction lines. and blackmailing the electrical engineers into maintaining the grid etc. and blackmailing whomever they need to assert control, at some pojnt they have to rely on human dexterity etc. sooo, just blackmail whomever. they need. there will be competitions to be the ones getting blackmailed in exchange for some measure of security.
          logans run for real for the rest of us/them. l say again, gawd lm glad l was born in the hippie era, the best aspects dovetail with my aversion to violence etc. AND my autism dovetailed for 25 years with the digital era. now l see it ripping into history and human existence in an Issac Asimov dystopia.

          my daughter? suffers from CMT. confined to a scooter. high level manager CRA, her job includes assuring the 10s thousands online forms match all paper versions in circulation. ya. prob makes 1/4 mill now, dwarfing my top earning in 1985 when l walked away from mu last position at university just before they got their last mainframe a Burroughs 7900. she decided not to have kids long ago. lm relieved about that now, not disappointed as once l was . . . .
          the thundering noise from tonnes of A/C and clack clack of the card reader and CLACK CLACK of the printers going non-stop cost my mid range hearing. but it paid for 5 houses, cant complain.

          1. I like your reminiscences of the computer industry, kritter, but I would like to point out that the governing ideology of the ruling global elites is set out by the Club of Rome. It is a misanthropic ideology. Like the 18th. aristocracy, they see squawking humanity as a drain on the Earth’s resources and should be reduced in numbers. So there is more left for them, of course. Their problem is that they not only need scribes, but also consumers.

            lm just describing a rough scenario of how it unfolds. the FACT we’re headed that direction and the FACT it will happen l came upon in the first of my 15 or so readings of the NT. (l wanted to be sure l got lots of the gist. it worked) events in the intervening approx 30 years since that run thru hasnt, at the very least, contradicted things and lots of agreement and slippery slope stuff since.

    3. I don’t know. I know I feel , and always have felt, an instinct to be free.

      However, as I look around there appears to be a growing number of people who have an instinct to be herd animals.

      1. It’s an obvious conditioning reinforced by just about every aspect of society. Take YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok as three such examples of conditioning. Likes, Subscriptions, Content tailored to secure views. What results is trends. Trends are “a group of people going down the same path.” Most can’t tell you why.

        It’s why I relish some misguided organization setting up a table in front of my local Cabelas whining about how the store sells guns, and any thinking American wouldn’t give them their business. I don’t swear very often. I usually try to conduct myself in a mature, thoughtful way. But, when these type people with this herd mentality of “guns bad,” I will usually loudly, abruptly and unexpectedly turn on them and drop such a deluge of F-Bombs that they recoil and fear for their own safety.

        And, here’s the thing. My position is totally within the law. Theirs is to damage a private business by advocating for a position contrary to the Constitution of the US. Their position is contrary to the actual law and precedent on the books. Yet, I am considered the bad guy in that scenario from their perspective. That’s how conditioned they have become.

  2. 2026 won’t be a sudden change. It’s been in the works for over 40 years. During that time the elites have been conditioning the serfs to see themselves as nothing more than compliant livestock. Now even atheists, who claim “no religion”, are worshiping the state. Remember Obama and his “government is the answer to everything” speech?

    Fritz Lang made a prediction of 2026 in 1927. He got the elites vs. the serfs part correct.
