Great Moments in Trash Talk

The wussification of professional sports continues.

New York Times- White Sox Call Josh Donaldson’s ‘Jackie’ Comments Racist

Donaldson, the Yankees’ third baseman, said his remarks to Tim Anderson referenced a magazine article in which Anderson said he was “today’s Jackie Robinson.”

White Sox Manager Tony La Russa didn’t mince words when he was asked what happened between Yankees third baseman Josh Donaldson and Chicago shortstop Tim Anderson on Saturday.
“He made a racist comment,” La Russa said of Donaldson. “That’s all I’m going to say.”

What we need is “insensitivity” training for thin skinned mid-wits.

  1. Shit for brains. Any rational person, Black or White, would/should have taken that for a major compliment.
Even if you accept that there’s a racial distinction, noting that Black athletes excel at sports is in no way a slur.
I can’t imagine any Jewish musician taking exception to being favorably compared to Yehudi Menuhin.

    1. I think it was meant as a shot but I don’t see anything racist about it. If the magazine had have called Anderson today’s Mickey Mantle, would, “Hey Mickey” be racist?

  2. La Russa seeking the moral high ground. What next?

Woke athletes seeking hurt will realize instead the end of sport.

    1. The story has been utterly scrubbed from the internet … but years ago, when LaRussa was managing the Oakland A’s … his daughter charged an ex-boyfriend with RAPE on the St Mary’s, CA campus (he made the mistake of dumping the crazy brat). The case went to trial and the judge lectured the whole LaRussa family about the corrupting effect of making FAKE rape claims. He also didn’t like them using their money, power, and notoriety in attempting to DESTROY an innocent kid.

    2. I am convinced that the Carolina Panthers will go to the playoffs if they dress the quarterback in a pink mini skirt and let their tight ends go out in pantyhose and high heels.

Trying my best to be a straight male in the Queen City.

  3. Just another example of the shortage of REAL incidents of racism in the US, so woketards need to invent it at every opportunity to maintain The Narrative.

  4. There’s a video on YouTube of legendary Orioles manager Earl Weaver battling with umpire Bill Haller that is an absolute classic and is a good antidote for all this woke garbage. Baseball sucks now like everything else.

  5. I’m no fan of Josh Donaldson however everyone involved in this “incident” needs to lighten up and move on. Tim Anderson is a thin-skinned egomaniac who even went so far as to compare himself to Jackie Robinson. Perhaps Anderson should do a little reading on just what Robinson had to endure when he broke into the majors and adjust his thinking accordingly. Now there’s no doubt that Donaldson is the ultimate shit-disturber but there is a big thick line between shit-disturber and racist. Tony La Russa should have just said “No comment. Let’s talk about baseball.” Yankee skipper Aaron Boone and Donaldson should have said the same. As for Anderson …. he is undoubtedly a talented player but he needs to grow up, keep his mouth shut and thank his lucky stars that the doesn’t have to experience genuine racism.

    1. Trash talk has always been part of the game. Stuperstar Tim, yes an egomaniac from all accounts, started it, declaring himself as a Jackie comp.

And of course, now victimizes himself when caught, using the n——r defence.

Blacks call blacks n——r all the time, to each other and in “popular culture” (rap) ALL THE TIME, and don’t bat an eyelash about it.

Some melanin challenged individual uses that word, and HITLER!!!!!,

    2. There’s lots of trash talk every game and some of it is is offside. The only reason this went nuclear is cause Donaldson is a jerk and no one likes him.

  6. He compared himself to Jackie Robinson and someone used it as a form of humour. How is that any way racist? Who has never called some pompous asshole who imagines himself intelligent, “Einstein?” Apparently that would be anti-Semitic in 2022.

  7. I’m waiting for the woke intelligentsia to declare the White Sox name racist.

Along with the Red Sox, Cincinnati Reds (a slur on Natives).

Even the Blue Jays. The blue jay is a bully bird.

  8. As I read it Anderson wants to bring some “fun” into the game and by that he means he wants to “showboat” and “clown it up” like they do in basketball and to a lesser degree in football.Baseball is very staid and traditional. In BB Every time a guy scores you would think they just won the lottery. Almost makes the game unwatchable. Make me want to puck
