Blog Notes

While my low intensity posting may look like post-election funk, the truth is that we’re midway through our first real vacation in 15 years.

We started with the Kentucky Derby weekend and are now in Nashville (perhaps my favourite city in America) with tours of Civil War battlefields planned for the coming week, before we hit the road for home.

Many thanks to our capable co-bloggers for holding down the fort! Be good to them.

Transgender Is A Stalking Horse For The Normalization Of Pedophilia

Townhall;

The Health and Human Services (HHS) Department released a report detailing damaging information about the use of “gender-affirming care” on minors suffering from gender dysphoria.[…]

The risks of using these treatments on children “include impaired bone mineral accrual, disrupted neurocognitive development, and the interruption of reproductive maturation,” according to HHS.

Hormone treatments also carry great risk. “In females, testosterone can cause irreversible deepening of the voice, clitoral enlargement, and changes to sexual function,” the report notes. “In males, estrogen use has been associated with thromboembolic events and metabolic disturbances.”

The authors further explain that “There are no long-term studies tracking cardiovascular or cancer risk among individuals who began hormone treatment in adolescence,” which means these treatments could contribute to other maladies as time goes on.

Art Of The Deal

Protests by workers demanding back wages are spreading across China in a sign of growing discontent among millions suffering the brunt of factory closures, triggered by steep U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports amid an economic downturn.

Across the country – from Hunan province’s Dao county in central China to Sichuan’s Suining city in the southwest and Inner Mongolia’s Tongliao city to the northeast – hundreds of disgruntled workers have taken to the streets to protest about unpaid wages and to challenge unfair dismissals by factories that were forced to shut due to the U.S. tariffs.[…]

Analysts at U.S.-based investment bank Goldman Sachs estimated that at least 16 million jobs, across industries, in China are at risk due to U.S. President Donald Trump’s imposition of a 145% tariff on Chinese imports

Creepy Joe Biden

Not only was the Biden administration keeping files on U.S. citizens, but one of those people was sitting there at the table, a member of the actual cabinet. “And by the way, I’m not gonna say who it is — I’ll leave it up to them — there’s at least one person at this table today who had a dossier in that building of social media posts, to identify them as purveyors of disinformation. We have these dossiers. We are going to be turning those over to these individuals…and they’ll decide whether they want to disclose it or not.

“Was it me or Elon?” Vice President JD Vance asked, causing the room to burst into laughter.

But watch the whole thing.

“This feels like a setup”.

Get Losta, Acosta

Report: Acosta out at CNN

“The anchor, I’m told, signaled to associates in private conversations over the weekend that he intends to depart the network after its chief executive, Mark Thompson, booted him from the morning programming lineup — a move that conspicuously coincided with Donald Trump’s return to power.

“CNN brass, as we first reported earlier this month, decided to strip Acosta of his 10am show, which he has anchored to great ratings success over the last 11 months, at times even seeing higher viewership than programs in the channel’s prime time bloc. Acosta was instead offered the less-than-desirable option of anchoring a show from midnight until 2am ET. CNN pitched the gig to Acosta as anchoring during prime time on the West Coast and said he could move to Los Angeles to host the program. But the reality is the program would have aired at a time in which cable news viewership is at its lowest levels.”
