    ICE and Trump need to TRIPLE DOWN on their efforts and do a better PR job .

    1. Most legal immigrants in this country are not fans of illegals. And many Latinos have family roots that stretch back to the earliest years of this country — they aren’t fans of illegals either (people seem to forget what Cesar Chavez thought of illegal immigration).

  9. Well I don’t see any suggestion in the article that these two men with Hispanic surnames from south Texas were immigrants, let alone illegals themselves. So what point is being made here? That they don’t have Anglo-Saxon or other European type names? So what, America is a big melting pot. It’s just that 30 million extra ingredients were added by Democrats (mostly) to help win elections. But everyone reading this blog should know that there are millions of Americans with Hispanic ancestry born in America, or legally immigrated to America over past several decades. There are lots serving in the armed forces and playing pro sports too. They tend to be quite a normal and unremarkable part of the scene. Americans sometimes also draw ridiculous conclusions from our large population of Chinese-Canadians thinking that all of them just arrived and work for Chairman Xi. I am sure that is true of a handful out of perhaps a million or more.

    Another point, even if you fully support the overall mission of ICE and the deportation of illegals, that does not automatically make every action of every ICE agent legal or defensible. They seemed a bit trigger-happy in this particular instance. I can understand that but the law isn’t based on compassion alone.

    The biggest problem to be solved in terms of narratives is simply this, the left have not only accepted the legitimacy of the ridiculous term “illegal immigrant” they have shortened it to “immigrant” so that in the mind of the average lefty, ICE is rounding up immigrants period. The term illegal immigrant should have been flushed away years ago and replaced by illegal aliens or even invaders. Now I don’t think there is a co-ordinated military invasion but one or two covert operations are probably hidden within the larger phenomenon (China could have one going on for sure, possibly also Iran). But these people are not any kind of immigrant, they are citizens of other countries who in many cases overstayed a visit having entered legally as tourists, or they are invaders. A person who crosses a border without notifying authorities, where required to do so, is an invader by definition no matter what their motivation. I have no doubt 90% of them are just present in America to make a few bucks and send a few back to relatives. That may invite sympathy from some, but you can do this legally through certain channels, get a work permit and then leave if you don’t qualify to be a citizen later.

    Much mischief is being done using this term illegal immigrant shortened to immigrant. Trump was basically elected to solve this problem, among other things. So Walz and the rest of the Democrats are just basically saying they don’t care about losing the 2024 presidential election, their policies should still be enforced in America. It shows that “democracy” is a term with a much different meaning to them, a Soviet-style meaning as in the German Democratic Republic. (that was East Germany before 1989 in case you didn’t know).
