Bill’s Wife

Daily Caller;

Democratic National Committee documents recently released by WikiLeaks include spreadsheets and emails that appear to show party officials planning which donors and prominent fundraisers to provide with appointments to federal boards and commissions.
The documents, which were circulated among top DNC officials in April, could raise legal questions for the party, says Ken Boehm, the chairman of the National Legal and Policy Center, a government watchdog group.

It’s so very unfair.

Springtime For Erdogan

In addition to the 62 children being held in prison;

More than 50,000 civil servants — including some 3,000 judges and prosecutors — who are suspected of supporting Fethullah Gülen, the US-based cleric accused of masterminding the plot, have been arrested or suspended in the past week. Tens of thousands of teachers have seen their licenses revoked, while academics have been barred from leaving the country.
On Saturday morning, Turkey issued its first decree under emergency law, extending the maximum length of pre-charge detention from four to 30 days. More than 1,000 private schools and some 1,200 associations and foundations will be shut down.
Turkish ministers have repeatedly denied that the state of emergency would have any impact on people’s rights and freedoms.

Feel The Bern…

Uh oh…

A cache of more than 19,000 emails from Democratic party officials, leaked in advance of Hillary Clinton’s nomination at the party’s convention next week in Philadelphia, details the acrimonious split between the Democratic National Committee and Clinton’s former rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Several emails posted by Wikileaks on its document disclosure website show DNC officials scoffing at Sanders and his supporters and in one instance, questioning his commitment to his Jewish religion. Some emails also show DNC and White House officials mulling whether to invite guests with controversial backgrounds to Democratic party events.

The Decline And Fall Of The American Empire

The modern multicultural super-tolerant western state of this century takes stock of its strongest point, and decides that it’s not the old industrial machine, which destroys the environment, its traditional heritage, which is problematic, or its problem solving skills, which are too technical, but its values of super-tolerant multiculturalism. And so it wages war on those insane terms.

Gunfire In Munich

A major police operation is ongoing in Munich, around the city’s Olympic Park, with the force warning people to stay in their homes and avoid public spaces.
Terrified shoppers were seen running for their lives from the Munich Olympia Shopping Centre, in the district of Moosach, after hearing gunshots.
A video purporting to show the shooter, dressed in black, firing 20 shots has been posted on Twitter. The footage shows him outside a McDonald’s directly outside the shopping centre.
The area around the Munich Olympia Shopping Centre in the district of Moosach has been sealed off as emergency services try to control the situation.

And now, reports of a second round of gunshots… developing.

Lone wolves, probably.

This Is Not Your Grandma’s Humane Society

Turin, Italy;

According to [the Five STar Movement] 62-page manifesto – which also called for better urban planning and the protection of public land – Turin’s new mayor said the endorsement of meat-free and even dairy-free living was fundamental to the protection of the environment, health, and the wellbeing of animals.
While the specifics of the strategy have not been disclosed, the city is expected to set up educational projects in schools to teach students about animal welfare and nutrition.

The Libranos: All Hail Our Carbon Taxing Overlords

CBC;

Provinces say they went into the process with an understanding that different provinces would be allowed mechanisms of their own choosing: a carbon tax in B.C. or Alberta, for example, but a cap-and-trade scheme in Ontario and Quebec, or other proven ways to regulate elsewhere.
“This is a concern. Because if that’s to be a legitimate process, where the premiers and the federal government work through some of these questions, why then is the prime minister and his… environment minister seemingly precluding the work of the committee?”
[…]
Wall went a step farther in an interview later Thursday with CBC News Network’s Power & Politics, saying he has already instructed provincial government lawyers to begin preparing for a constitutional challenge in the event the federal government acts unilaterally.
He suggested the case would be waged on the grounds that governments don’t tax other governments.

Meanwhile…

A spokesman for Trudeau said he was unable to attend the premiers’ meeting because of a scheduling conflict. Trudeau was in Ottawa to announce the name of the athlete who will be Canada’s flagbearer at the upcoming Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

They don’t care about emissions. They just need the money.
