Happy Propaganda

Every once in a while we hear about some happiness report which usually concludes that Nordic nations are generally happier than everybody else. The same analysis often smuggles in a plug for a generous welfare state as an explanation. Not surprisingly, it seems that the conclusions are based on some very flimsy evidence.

But upon closer examination, it turns out that the World Happiness Report is not based on any major research effort; far from measuring how happy people are with some sophisticated mix of indicators, it simply compiles answers to a single question asked to comparatively small samples of people in each country:

“Please imagine a ladder with steps numbered from zero at the bottom to 10 at the top. The top of the ladder represents the best possible life for you and the bottom of the ladder represents the worst possible life for you. On which step of the ladder would you say you feel you personally stand at this time?”

Our Chinese-Installed Governor In Ottawa

May be exaggeration, but interesting nonetheless.

Update: Carney is mentioned a number of times in this House Judiciary Report from December.

Terry Newman now has the story up at the National Post. Continue reading →

Quoi?

Sun- Despite saying he would, Carney won’t take part in TVA debate

Liberal Leader Mark Carney, who despite suggesting on Monday that he’d take part in TVA’s French-language leaders debate, his campaign is reportedly saying he won’t.

“Liberal Leader Mark Carney will not participate in the TVA ‘Face à Face‘ debate, as per his campaign,” wrote Global Parliament Hill reporter Mackenzie Gray.

“No reason was provided by the party as to why he won’t participate.”

National Post- Mark Carney says ‘non merci’ to a French-language debate

OTTAWA — Liberal Leader Mark Carney lost the first French-language debate before it even started.

Melanie Joly, “I expect the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada to be fully bilingual.”

Lies

Spiked- How scientists misled the world about Covid’s origins

And it now includes a huge stack of documents – inadvertently made public and spotted by two open-source investigators, ‘Billy Bostickson’ and Gilles Demaneuf – that shows just how systematically we were deceived about this mother of all scandals.

Spiked- Lockdown: a reckoning

Those who imposed or supported the lockdowns will no doubt insist that it was all for the greater good of saving lives. But the authorities’ actions in 2020 repeatedly gave the lie to this. Enforcing the rules became an end in itself, regardless of the actual risks of spreading or contracting Covid.

Who’s Not Talking To Who?

Unelected governor of Canada can’t get no respect.

Morning Star- Carney Believes Trump Waiting For Election Results Before Talking to Canadian Leader

Carney added that he is “available for a call” with Trump, “but we’re going to talk on our terms as a sovereign country.” Canada reached out last week to the White House for a call between Carney and Trump, but did not hear back, according to a government official.

Things You’ll Never See On The CBC

Axios; Dems’ dark, deep hole

Top Democrats tell us their party is in its deepest hole in nearly 50 years — and they fear things could actually get worse:

  • The party has its lowest favorability ever.
  • No popular national leader to help improve it.
  • Insufficient numbers to stop most legislation in Congress.
  • A durable minority on the Supreme Court.
  • Dwindling influence over the media ecosystem, with right-leaning podcasters and social media accounts ascendant.
  • Young voters are growing dramatically more conservative.
  • A bad 2026 map for Senate races.
  • Democratic Senate retirements could make it harder for the party to flip the House, with members tempted by statewide races.
  • There are only three House Republicans in districts former Vice President Harris won in 2024, a dim sign for a Democratic surge. There were 23 eight years ago in seats Hillary Clinton won.
  • And, thanks to the number of people fleeing blue states, the math for a Dem to win the presidency will just get harder in 2030.
  • Maybe they didn’t appreciate the regendering.

“[Y]oung people have gone from being the most progressive generation since the Baby Boomers, and maybe even in some ways more so, to becoming potentially the most conservative generation that we’ve experienced maybe in 50 to 60 years.”

Update! The Carney campaign is off to a great start.

More than 50 Newfoundland and Labrador’s fish harvesters are outside Mark Carney’s rally in St. John’s. Police said they told them to move outside. The front doors are now locked.

    She Did Do “The Work”

The Telegraph- Why shouldn’t this white German woman ‘identify as black’?

A 36-year-old glamour model from Germany has announced that she’s planning to emigrate to Africa – because she’s black. Admittedly she wasn’t born black. She was born with white skin, and blonde hair, to white parents. None the less, black is how she now identifies. To this end, she has had injections of a synthetic hormone called Melanotan, which has significantly darkened her pale skin. In addition, she has changed her name from Martina Adam to Malaika Kubwa, which is Swahili for “Big Angel”.

    The War on Intelligence

It’s often said that if you want to get better at something, stop playing with people you can easily beat and instead play against people who are better than you. This applies to chess, tennis, hockey, and pretty much every other activity.

The hosts of the All-In-Podcast are exceptionally smart and incredibly successful. In the most recent example, guest host Cyan Banister offered strong words of warning for Americans. She provided a long term perspective of how incredibly destructive DEI, Wokeness, and the war on excellence and meritocracy has been. One can only speculate how much worse things are in Canada given the reign of Dear Leader the past 9 years. The other hosts chimed in and this chart was displayed:

The Libranos: Nice Riding You Have There

Be a shame if anything happened to it.

Chandra Arya, a Liberal backbench MP whose short-lived bid to replace Justin Trudeau as leader was cut short by the party, says he has been dropped as the candidate for the Ottawa riding of Nepean.

The 62-year-old has represented the riding since 2015.

National campaign director Andrew Bevan informed Arya of the decision in a letter Thursday, just days before an expected election call.

The move to remove him comes almost two months after the party also told Arya it would not accept him as a candidate for the party leadership.

Arya had already been nominated, but the letter says new information obtained by the party’s “green light committee” led the campaign co-chair to recommend that his “status as a candidate” be revoked.

Bevan does not include any details about the new information.

The only unfinished business is for our Chinese-installed Governor to smear Chandra Arya as a Chinese plant.
