Adam Carolla for President of the United States?
Even though there’s a severe language warning, I highly recommend you listen to this clip from a recent Adam Carolla podcast. He talks about a fundamental change in American society: Envy. This, of course, has been deliberately hyper-inflated by Barack Obama and his comrades but, as Carolla explains, is the byproduct of at least 20 years of the “Participation Trophy” mentality. Another interesting insight he provides is how Envy has become the fundamental commonality connecting Radical Leftism with Radical Islamism.

Another rant by Carolla, from nearly 2 years ago
Note: In 2012, carefully watch how Democrat apparatchiks and their sycophants in the MSM keep playing the Envy card over & over & over again. Of course, they’ll spin it as “social justice” and “economic equality” but it’s really Envy that they’re desperately trying to stir up in voters. Hopefully a majority of these voters will pay attention to Eric Duhaime’s 5th Life Lesson.
Free Degree Available to Devout Followers of the Church of Leftism
Unbeknownst to the OWS participants and supporters, a college-like degree in “Basic Life Lessons and Economic Realities” was available to them, free of charge, if only they paid attention to what actually happened over the past 2 months. In a brilliant column, that should be printed out and affixed above the bed of every entitlement junkie, Eric Duhaime outlines the valuable life lessons:
- Down with public property
- Banks fulfill an essential function
- Law and order help when you’re being pushed around by criminals
- You need to work before you eat
- The leaders of the Left never practice what they preach
Folks on the Left constantly remind the rest of us of how incredibly open minded they are. Duhaime’s 5 absolute truths provide a valuable opportunity to test this assertion. Observe the Leftists you encounter in 2012 and see which ones earned an “A” and which ones ended up with an “F” in Duhaime’s course.
For extra credit towards an A+, direct them to this discussion between the author and Charles Adler.
Operation Fast and Furious
In a letter last February to Charles Grassley, the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Justice Department said that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms had not sanctioned the sale of assault weapons to a straw purchaser and that the agency makes every effort to intercept weapons that have been purchased illegally. In connection with Operation Fast and Furious, both statements have turned out to be incorrect.
Luckily, it’s Friday.
Youth? Smouth!
Publius goes against the current grain (no kidding!):
Ignorance & Apathy
Go together like a horse and carriage…
Encouraging young people to vote is essentially asking the least experienced in adult society to help run society. This is also the same group that, economically, contributes very little to the national fisc. It’s easy to believe in utopia when you don’t know any better, and someone else is footing the bill. If you’re a politician selling the same pie-in-sky dreams for decades, the youth of Canada look like a tempting target.
But the young are connected, integrated and diverse! That must make them ideal voters! Not really. The highly efficient exchange of blather, i.e. social media, adds little to the sum total of human wisdom. Diversity? Turns out non-white young people are about as vapid as white young people…
The 2012 Election: The Takers vs the Makers
The 99% are being told they are the virtuous; they are the decorous. The 1%… It seems to me that if we’re gonna start hating people, we’re looking in the wrong direction. Would somebody explain to me where is the valor in sitting on your butt taking money from other people? Where is the honor, where is the greatness, where is this entitlement that allows people to get up every day and think they are owed something because of some mysterious crime against them that’s gone on all of their lives. In Europe, the problems there exist for one primary reason. Of course there are a number of ancillaries and I’m not trying to make a sweeping generalization here, but the problem in Europe exists because they have committed to paying people who don’t do anything! – Rush Limbaugh’s Takers vs Makers
Obama’s Strangely Desperate New Campaign Speech
Is Free Parking Now a “Human Right” in Canada?
How silly of me to think that the entitlement mentality of Canadians could get any worse. But along comes Dr. Rajendra Kale, editor in chief of the Canadian Medical Association Journal, who argues that, “Parking fees amount to a user fee in disguise.”
The Vancouver Sun editorial board disagrees with him. But surprise, surprise, Saskatoon’s Tammy Robert does not. She thinks she’s hard done by and whines on Charles Adler’s shoulder about her plight. In other words, Ms. Robert thinks it’s perfectly fine for her fellow taxpayers, including many of whom likely make a whole lot less than her family does, to be paying her bills. That’s pathetic.
Should we expect a Human Rights case to be filed in the not too distant future?!
Personal Note: Earlier this week I was staying at a hotel in San Francisco. They wanted $45/day extra for parking. I said “no way” and found free parking not too far away. If you don’t want to pay for parking then don’t park there!
Sick Day
I’m a bit under the weather this morning, so blogging will be light for the next few hours.
BBC News’ Love Affair With Climategate “Scientists”
David Rose and Melanie Phillips carefully detail the rampant corruption at the BBC as exposed by the latest Climategate e-mails.
‘The emails – part of a trove of more than 5,200 messages that appear to have been stolen from computers at the University of East Anglia – shed light for the first time on an incestuous web of interlocking relationships between BBC journalists and the university’s scientists, which goes back more than a decade.
‘They show that University staff vetted BBC scripts, used their contacts at the Corporation to stop sceptics being interviewed and were consulted about how the broadcaster should alter its programme output.
‘… BBC insiders say the close links between the Corporation and the UEA’s two climate science departments, the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) and the Tyndall Centre for Climate Research, have had a significant impact on its coverage.
‘Following their lead has meant the whole thrust and tone of BBC reporting has been that the science is settled, and that there is no need for debate,’ one journalist said. ‘If you disagree, you’re branded a loony.’
Open Questions: Here in Canada, are the members of our mainstream media, particularly throughout the CBC and CKNW’s Bill Good, any less corrupt? Will any of these so-called “professional” journalists ever resign over their complete breach of ethics?

Daniel Hannan’s 10-Point Memo to Leftists
If SDA Trolls are any indication of the Leftist mindset, then they truly aren’t remotely aware of how [small-c] conservatives think. Member of the European Parliament, Daniel Hannan, has penned a simple memo to help the comrades better understand.
Here’s a snippet:
Those of us who believe in small government are not motivated by the desire to make the rich richer. We’re really not. We are, in most cases, nowhere near having to pay top rate tax ourselves; our most eloquent champions over the years have been modestly-paid academics. We believe that economic freedom will enrich the country as a whole. Yes, the wealthy might become wealthier still, but we don’t see that as an argument against raising living standards for the majority.
Now is the Time at SDA When We Juxtapose
Dec 1, 2011 – “The conservative-preferred, free-market fundamentalist, shareholder-only model—so successful in the 20th century—is being thrown onto the trash heap of history …” – Andy Stern, past head of the SEIU
Oct 25, 1917 – “Go out where you belong—into the ash heap of history.” – Leon Trotsky
N.B. In case you’re not aware, Andy Stern and Barack Obama have been joined at the hip for some time now. Changing America into a totalitarian regime like China is precisely what Stern wants. The fact that he has come right out and said so should be frightening to everyone.

Climategate 2.0: Hide The Decline
[In 2003] no one knew about “hide the decline”. Mann et al do not mention anything about deleting adverse data. The Briffa reconstruction labeled in the legend as “Briffa et al scaled 1856-1980″, giving no clue to readers of hide-the-decline. Let’s now look at a magnified version of this graphic, blown up so that we can see how they handled the Briffa (orange) reconstruction. As sharp-eyed CA readers observed, if you squint closely, you can see that the Briffa reconstruction was chopped off before its end.
Indeed, they did not simply “hide the decline”, their “hide the decline” was worse than we thought. Mann et al did not merely delete data after 1960, they deleted data from 1940 on…

Newt Gingrich vs. The Left’s Genius
Barely a week goes by when we’re not told by the liberal media what an incredible “genius” Barack Obama is. Genius. Brilliant. Smartest U.S. President ever. Blah, blah, blah.
After seeing this photo of Obama talking to a 6th Grade class, it was beyond delightful to hear Newt Gingrich say this:
“If he (President Obama) wants to use a teleprompter, that would be fine with me.”
What We Really Need Is Democracy
With a totalitarian party to vote for!!!
CAIRO — Islamists claimed a decisive victory on Wednesday as early election results put them on track to win a dominant majority in Egypt’s first Parliament since the ouster of Hosni Mubarak, the most significant step yet in the religious movement’s rise since the start of the Arab Spring.
The party formed by the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s mainstream Islamist group, appeared to have taken about 40 percent of the vote, as expected. But a big surprise was the strong showing of ultraconservative Islamists, called Salafis, many of whom see most popular entertainment as sinful and reject women’s participation in voting or public life.
SDA – ahead of the curve, once again. But then, so was anyone who dared pay attention.
