In a letter sent to the Premier of Ontario…
CAW Women’s Program Director Julie White called on the provincial government to actively consider the establishment of a long gun registry and to take a “principled and public stand” against the Harper government’s proposed legislation (Bill C-19) to dismantle the registry and demand the existing records be maintained.

Real men don’t belong to the C.A.W., not anymore.
It’s a matter of self-respect.
The C.L.C. leadership is politically correct and anti-men.
I suspect the contamination started within the NDP and the contagion spread.
The anti-dote is to go into the wilderness and hunt moose, deer and bear with an un-registered, unlicenced firearm. Just as Canadian men did for hundreds of years.
Luckily for the CAW there aren’t any pickups on that list.
There isn’t a single vehicle on that list that’s worth a damn.
Let the Union die. Or should that be The NDP political union?
I for one am tired of communists running Canada. They do nothing but destroy freedom or what we have left of Democracy. Sorry CAW bit your guys lost. To bad.
I’d like to see a poll of the workers at Cat. How many want their jobs at any price.
Don`t worry about the workers at the London Cat plant. Mc Guinty will have it up and running in no time.Windmills and solar panels…..that`s
the answer.Ken Lewensa can help cut the ribbon.
Ontario is dying while McGuinty grinds on with his green madness and ah shucks, daddy knows best attitude.
There’s no one to stop him in his romp, it’s windmills and solar or bust, we’re well on our way to oblivion.. Thanks to an opposition of polar opposites who can’t agree on the time of day McGuinty rolls us further into debt, household by household.
And Lewenza and the CAW steamroll ahead with their ” socially conscious ” wind turbine here in Port Elgin Ont. When running, it will have the distinction of being the only turbine in the world to be so close to residential homes [210 metres closest, 100 residents within 550 safety zone] at a cost of $ 2 million, at a “Family Education Centre” that the CAW is even admitting they’re losing money on [$5 million total].
The group in Port Elgin formed to oppose the turbine [STOP] is mustering up a boycott of all vehicles manufactured by the CAW. Since the next contract that Lewenza has an opportunity to screw up is Chrysler, we want to go after them next.
Lewenza et al constantly complains about their adversaries being bullies. The CAW is no different. They have at every turn bullied the citizens here and now are knowingly putting the health and safety of the people and their own workers at the FEC at risk. They behave privately what they abhor publicly. We in the STOP group will not rest until that turbine comes down.
We are undertaking the battle on many fronts and all evidence points to how much Lewenza and the CAW are firmly attached to McGuinty’s “left one”.

Yup, misplaced priorities.
Ken apparently missed the memeo that the money they got last time was the last time.
How can anyone doubt the validity of Darwinian evolution?
Please do not be too hard on Kenny and the CAW. They are doing a splendid job of turning men into boys.
Tried to leave comment at the CAW site, didn’t work… guess they don’t like criticism much, but then they don’t listen to their members that they are supposed to “represent” very much, why then would they listen to anyone else?
I wonder if the Consensus Media would criticize McLiar if he even mused about establishing a provincial registry in Ontario… you know, the same way they, the opposition and, yes, BIG LABOUR have all criticized PMSH on OAS…
“Why didn’t the PM campaign on pension reform during the last election? Why weren’t Canadians told of this before casting their ballots?”
Rather doubtful considering that as shills for BIG LABOUR and the federal opposition parties, the Toronto-based Consensus Media too would applaud the establishment of a provincial registry. Hypocrites.
The Canadian Auto Workers is the labour arm of the federal NDP, just like the various government worker unions are joined at the hip to their respective provincial NDP parties.
First : The CAW has no credibility with regard to the Gun Registry.
Second: The CAW should first amend their own practices of destroying jobs in Canada (re : EMD London Ontario).
Third : McGuinty is so financially incompetent , creating a gun registry would mimic eHealth , and ORNGE .
CAW members can start a volunteer fund to pay for their gun registry. millions$$$ will be collected.
CAW members can start a volunteer fund to pay for their gun registry. millions$$$ will be collected.
Never buy union made crap.
Let’s see here
“The CAW accepts that citizens have the right to own firearms in Canada. However, we cannot accept the logic that the conditions are such that firearm ownership goes unchecked. I state this not to criticize the character of law-abiding gun owners in Canada, but only that there are possible violent and dangerous outcomes related to unchecked gun ownership. A long gun registry is one piece of a national gun control program that fosters a culture of safety and accountability in Ontario communities.”
a) If citizens have the right to something, then government has no business controlling it, ever. Or should we register every tongue, every computer hooked to the internet, every printing press (like in the old Communist Bloc) and also track paper and ink?
b) Since only law-abiding gun owners will register their guns and you believe that a registry is necessary to prevent violence obviously you are questioning the character of said law-abiding gun owners.
I would bet money that Julie White
a) is a Ms, not a Misses or Miss
b) majored in Social Studies
c) has never actually produced anything worthwhile in her life
Also, the Province of Ontario is a quarter of a trillion dollars in debt. Where does the CAW think the money will come from?
By the way, my car was built in Ontario at the non-CAW Honda factory in Alliston.
Years ago I made a promise to myself that I would never purchase a vehicle that would put a nickel in the pocket of Buzz Hargrove. I have held true to my word and have encouraged many others to embrace this idea.
Honest discussion about the CAW and their politics, lack of quality products, negotiating tactics etc. usually win over people to my way of thinking.
FYI our home went from Chevrolet and Chrysler products in 2001 to Toyota/Nissan/VW and have stayed with a non union mix ever since. Good Job Buzz.
Let the CAW set the example by having them make their members register their guns…
These parasites (along with GM and Chrysler)took billions and billions of our tax-dollars just a few years back to bail them out of a mess that was (at least partly) of their own making. And a large chunk of that came from Canadian gun owners.
Talk about biting the hand that fed them.
These commie global warming believing idiots will not rest until they have created the million dollar pick-up truck with only 1 customer. The unionists have forged on with dullards like Buzz and Ken, thugs who have bullied their way to wages and benefits for their largely uneducated workforce that have taken the price of a truck in 73, from 3500, to 75,000 this year, the IQ of Buzz Hargrove has always been easy for Buzz to remember, his pants size. Through their efforts they have about shuttered every big business in Ontario, if these union fools don’t back off soon there will be nothing left to fleece. Parasites usually end up killing the host.
I really wish these people would stick to their mandates and not moan and groan about things that have nothing to do with their jobs.
Same goes for Hollywood actors and actresses. Do the job you are paid to do and shut the hell up about what you know nothing about.
As ridiculous as union leaders moaning about the poor palestinians. Gimme a break.
In 1982 I lived in CAW/GM controlled town. Nearly everyone drove a GM product because they qualified for a discount. Labour troubles ensued and I witnessed fist hand the disgusting union tactics.
Went out and bought myself a Honda Civic. Have been driving a Honda since then.
Right To Work Legislation.
Now.
If you want to see what a commie this Julie White is you just have to look at her twitter page:

If you really want to feel ill just look at the twitter pages of some of the people that she has re-tweeted messages from. Here’s one re-tweet:
“As a man committed to the end of sexism, I believe, with all the jouissance in me,that @PeggyNashNDP is the #ndplrd who can lead liberation.”
That was posted by “Michael Erickson – High School Teacher, Activist, Photographer, Hockey Coach & sometimes a politician”
A high-school teacher talks about leading “liberation” of women? What planet are these awful leftists from?
Unionist Feminist Communist ……………
All birds of a feather …. know your enemy.
Any of you folks even own a firearm, or are you just advocating destroying our manufacturing base, to spite one person who happens to work in that industry, for shits and giggles? While you’re at it, might as well buy a Norinco, so you can screw the North American firearm manufacturers, while you’re at it. Where I live, everyone owns at least 5 firearms, and every second vehicle is a Ford Edge. My only exposure to bitter, non-contributing, trouble makers seems to be this blog.

Coach
We are not trying to destroy an industry but are trying to destroy those that are presently destroying industry.
Big Difference.
My only exposure to bitter, non-contributing, trouble makers seems to be this blog.
~ coach
Well then it’s time you considered lowering your exposure, act now.
Coincidentally, were you to do that, it would lower my exposure to low watt dim bulbs who confuse the industry as a whole with unions.
They are separable, it only takes enough economic pressure.
RAV4 Made in Japan owner.
The piece of $hit truck they sold me just broke down to the tune of a couple Gs. The Japanese aren’t trying to take away my guns. Maybe I’ll look at a Toyota next time.
coach at February 5, 2012 11:34 AM: When you get up in the morning give your eyes a good rub. Get the fairy dust out so you can see what is really going on.
Few years back I heard an interview with some union mouthpiece about coal. He said he was againt coal mining because it caused global warming and environmental destruction even though the good paying jobs it provided allowed him to exist.
Its no wonder union membership is at an all time low and trending to zero in the private sector. The only place the unions thrive is in the public sector where governemnt doesn’t have the balls to stand up to them. The unions and NDP represent bureacratic hacks and environmental activists. They haven’t represented regular rank and file for more than 30 years.

Awesome idea, Gord
As usual the media is only telling us part of the story. A 50% pay cut does seem a bit excessive – until you realize its only on overpaid unskilled labor. Skilled was asked for 16 to 17 percent cut. And both skilled and unskilled still retain a very attractive benefit package – although they did cut funding to the CAW Leadership training program and the Social Justice Fund – Barbarians!

coach: “Where I live, everyone owns at least 5 firearms, and every second vehicle is a Ford Edge.”
Are the firearms used to force people into buying the Ford Edge?
“A long gun registry is one piece of a national gun control program that fosters a culture of safety and accountability on Ontario communities”
Oh,I see. The culture of safety and accountability is the reason there are no “gang-bangers” in Toronto,or organized crime gangs in every Canadian city, large or small.
I used to tolerate labour Unions, have been a member of several different Unions over the last 45 years, but I’m becoming convinced that LU’s are the enemy, the people who would take away all our freedom in the name of social justice.
Funny thing is,they never seem to appreciate that they are at the top end of the wage scale,THEY are “the rich” among the working class in Canada.
And their unrealistic wages are subsidized by the rest of us.
These parasites (along with GM and Chrysler)took billions and billions of our tax-dollars just a few years back to bail them out
Billions that were paid back, unlike the tens of billions more rural conservative welfare bum farmers have slurped out of the trough with not a word of gratitude, let alone a thought given to paying back one thin dime. SDA, proving yet again there ain’t no hypocrite like a right wing hypocrite. We don’t need no stinkin’ welfare bum farmers, and we don’t need no stinkin’ right wing hypocrites.
So the 30.7 billion dollars of agricultural exports means nothing to trolls? That’s all newly created wealth ALL Canadians share in…
Coach, I own firearms. I also can’t bring myself to knowingly support anyone that is against what I stand for. Rather than call me a “bitter, non-contributing trouble-maker”, you could just accuse me of having a spine.
For the record, there is a new Tacoma in my driveway and my gun safe holds a mix of Canadian, American, European and Japanese manufactured firearms.
I wonder if she asked her union membership what they think of the idea.
The piece of $hit truck they sold me just broke down to the tune of a couple Gs. The Japanese aren’t trying to take away my guns. Maybe I’ll look at a Toyota next time.
Yup, I agree. After driving Fords and GMs for most of my life I switched to Toyota about 10 years ago. It was a big improvement in quality and design. Smartest vehicle choice I ever made. Since then my maintenance costs dropped significantly and my fuel mileage increased substantially. The union attitude was certainly part of the decision. Unions have done more than any other organization to drive our jobs overseas by making North American labor uncompetitive in a global market. Now they’re bankrupting municipalities and businesses with their unrealistic pension benefit coats.
The EMD employees could have taken a reasonable pay cut to kept their jobs and benefits. The CAW made sure the workers lost everything.
Of course the leftist media won’t tell the whole story.

Phil. You’re talking stupid.
SDA regularly kicks the crap out of dairy marketing boards, ethanol subsidies, and useless farm orgs.
Oh, and as far as Canadians being paid back goes, bullshit.

For some inexplicable reason the CAW have thrown in their lot with Dalton McGuinty and his Green Energy Act. They support these fiascos like wind turbines and electric cars, to the extent of building a turbine in Port Elgin right against neighbouring homes. Many of these neighbours are brother workers or retirees from Bruce Power nuclear plant. This facility actually generates electricity and employs about 3500 union workers. No matter the CAW believes in the phantom jobs promised by McGuinty. You really have to wonder who the CAW leadership represents.
The CAW leadership represents Their own wallets. They don’t care about the workers.
The Ford St Thomas plant is already closed and those cars are no longer made.
You can also take the Equinox and Terrain off that list. Production is shifting to Spring Hill Tenn. and Ingersoll is closing in the next year.
Might be of interest to revisit the list in a couple of years and see what else has disappeared. I always say Camaro production is the kiss of death as production of it has closed every plant involved.
Just as Canadian men did for hundreds of years.
Obvious fact: those who lived here for many more than “hundreds of years” were already doing just that.
It’s human manipulation of their surroundings, and yes, we are selfish because we need to survive.
I’m going to go chew on some trees now, maybe even make a house up there and protest. Haven’t decided yet.
Just sayin.
