    Why doesn’t the government just get the hell out of the way when people are trying to open up a small business and hire people? Who, exactly – whose interests – do they think they’re protecting with this sort of ridiculous red tape?
    Gah. Unbelievable.

  3. It’s just a different take on “pursuit of happiness” from the Declaration of Independence. They’re emphasising the pursuit part to the exclusion of happiness.

  4. We have the same zhite in Canada. The Rio Theatre in Vancouver went through all the hoops to get a liquor license so people could have a beer while discussing the movie they were about to see. Problem occurred when said liquor license disallowed the exhibition of movies on the premises.

  5. This is exactly what Steve Jobs told Obama about the impossibility of opening a factory in the US. Jobs said it is almost impossible become of regulations and unnecessary costs. Obama response…crickets.
    One poster pointed out an interesting fact in the comments. The oil sands is shipping its oil to Texas via 1,000 a day tanker cars. Who owns the railway and tanker cars, why Obama’s good friend Warren Buffett!
