Duluth, Minnesota Mayor Don Ness insists that there’s now a simple test you can conduct to determine if you’re a racist:
Step #1: Remove all face coverings, including but not necessarily limited to niqabs, goalie masks, and motorcycle helmets.
Step #2: In a well lighted room, stand in front of a mirror.
Step #3: Carefully look at your face.
If you determine yourself to be white aka Caucasian, honkey, cracker, gweilo, haole, hakujin, and/or macamba then YOU ARE A RACIST!!! It matters not what you think, nor how you treat others, you are forever guilty of racism!

  9. Duluth is a small city with only 86 thousand and is 93% white. Average age is 35. If they really want to shed the guilt immage of being white, a weeks vacation in Detroit should do it. It would also show the future if the OWS crowd gets their way and the marvels of socialism.

  10. Duluth MN is probably one of the bluest parts of a very blue state of Minnesota.
    Of course these politicians and their advisors view everything through the lens of racism, tribalism, sexual preference, ethnic and religious hatred. Add in unions, and us vs them class warfare. That is how the Democrat Party operates.
    They balkanize us into little groups and tell us they are the only ones that can get us “justice.” Vote for us and we will get you your “rights” and your piece of the pie (and some of that other b@stard’s too!). And stay loyal to your group. Independence is heresy. That is starting to end though. They are running out of other peoples money. (And young people are all fleeing too)
    If Duluth is so damn racist, who do they have to blame? The DFL, unions and the progressive/socialist/communist hatemongers have been running that town and the schools for years. And it is the only place I know that the people talk about each other and use phrases like I-ties, swedes, pollocks, and bo-hunks in normal conversations.
    Maybe they are all racists, but who made them that way?
    Thank God my father moved us out of there before I was born.

Mayor Ness should lead by example: He might, for instance, move into a predominantly black or Hispanic neighborhood in Duluth and, to show his lack of pernicious racial prejudice and refusal to stereotype, remove any anti-burglar bars or alarms the house might have come with. He would, of course, dispense with any security detail he might have, and use public transportation to get to work and back. I eagerly await the result of the demonstration.

  19. I have said this many times. Once a year, preferably on July 01 or July 04 in Canada and the USA prespectively all white people should admit they are racist. The next step would be to enshrine this statement in the Constituion and the Charter of Right and Freedom.
    Maybe this would put an end to this b.s.
    I am sure the mayor who I would think from observation is not what we would call a real man. Wouldn’t you just like to slap that little wimp?

  25. Whew! Now I no longer have to stay awake at night wondering if I am a racist! This is such an incontrovertible scientific test, having nothing to do with I don’t know, the content of my character or my behaviour towards others.
    Does this mean that not only are whites the only racists, as everyone knows minorities can’t be racist, but all whites are racists, and whites now hold racist prejudices against all races including their own?
    Isn’t saying that all the members of a certain race behave in a certain way a racist statement in itself? Is this exercise in free speech in violation of Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?

  33. Interesting thing about Minnesota. Very conservative place once you get ten miles from Minneapolis. Duluth seems to the the same deal.
    Minneapolis is so liberal it makes your teeth ache. They seem to sense they are the final outpost of liberalism before the Vast Wasteland until you get to Seattle, and so in many ways they’re worse than Californians.
    As to the racist thing; I’ve been called worse on the interwebs, but I have yet to meet anyone brave enough (or fool enough) to say it to my face.

  35. Piper, it’s not self-loathing. White people support this ad campaign support with the belief that their support somehow magically erases THEIR racism. The loathing is reserved for white people who object to the billboards. Listen to the passive aggressive tone:
    “It’s bringing forth this issue in a way that may make people uncomfortable. But hopefully the goal is not simply to place blame.”
    You see? We may be blaming you, but that’s not our ultimate goal. We can’t help it if you feel guilty for being racist. Besides, you can avoid all that discomfort by accepting our premise & admitting you suck.

    I grew up a white boy in a predominantly black neighborhood. Like any other group of people, the vast majority of my neighbors were decent. Don’t mean to go all missionary, but I found that voluntary associations through religion were the only effective means of bridging the racial gap. Guilt-based plans like affirmative action & forced busing only exacerbated the divide.
    People, especially liberals, forget that government enforces its decrees through the implicit threat of violence. I’m not opposed to violence. I support all folks, including black folks, in their efforts to openly arm & protect themselves. What worries me is when professional liars (like Don Ness) endorse vaguely threatening billboards.

Apparently she believes several and varied flesh-tones should be used instead. I see no indication if she had the same opinion about toilet paper. Where do these MORONS come from?

  39. Who made it bad to be racist.. We are all racist.. Blacks are racist. Yellows are racist. Whites are racist. Reds are racist.. It is only normal to prefer to be around the “one’s who brung ya”.. your parent’s.. and the culture that come’s with you. We put too much value on our “better’s” opinions. We are too sensitive to the criticisms from the liberal left and the guilt we are told we must feel for preferring people like ourselves. Why is it unacceptable to find differences in our cultures. We are all different. Our up-bringing guarantees that. It’s what makes us interesting to each other. For years we were told men and women are the same, and we all know how stupid that premise was , but we heard it for the longest time. We have to learn to accept our differences, and get on with life.

    happy infidel, I prefer to call it a “tribal” instinct that goes back to the dawn of time. Most of us try to get along with those of other tribes and work with them, but a crisis or bullying of some sort can result in a circling of the wagons.

    Our Federal Government is the most racist thing in Canada … try to get a job with them unless you know French. In fact, try to get a Prime Minister that only speaks English.
    And of all the most recist people in Canada are [French] Quebec government … even all signs must have the French letters bigger than any other language – French Language Police make sure of that with their rulers. Perfect example of a racist, based on language alone.
