I believe Canada still gives aid to China which is just as dumb.
I believe that Canada also sends money to India… and Russia … amongst other things.
Why is this a problem?
The western world has lots of money! Hell, we make the world’s money,don’t we? Didn’t you notice how well our own economies are doing? How great our educational standards have become? Or our health care? Or our employment opportunities?
Yep. It is our responsibility to ensure that all the worlds citizens have equitable lifestyles…..even if it means dragging us down to the lessers level.
A lot of so called aid consists of leftist ego tripping and also buying off party people who
make nuisances of themselves proposing foreign and UN projects for their “old” law firms.
One questions why no one has the gumption to ask these “new miracle economies” re:
You have billions available to waste on nuclear weapons while ignoring your people
rotting with easily preventable leprosy and at risk of polio.
How does that work?

I’ve long heard that Canadian “aid” to China & India is well known to actually be bribes that grease business transactions over there.
Also keeps a number of Canadian public sector bureaucrats employed. 🙁
The Indians rightly regard the AID as an insult….which it is……to both Indians and the British taxpayer.
I like to think our aid to China is to support Murace Strong our favorite Canadian citizen that lives there. We can’t expect the Chinese to support this free loader who is one of many socialist p&!($ trying to destroy western economies.
Foreign aid? The Swiss banks thank us for our patronage. The money provided by the UK to India truly irrelevant.
Countries that are in the crapper are there because they have a climate not conducive to business. The biggest problem is not lack of money. It is lack of workable business law and corrupt judges and other officials.

The Indians are just being selfish. If they stop accepting foreign aid hundreds of hours of work by Ivy League aspirants will go down the drain. Medical students will have nothing to put on their CaRMS applications. Instead of an exotic trip to India to hug cute Indian babies, upper class North American teenagers will have to go up the road to the local reserve to be spat on by p*ssed-off Native survivors of sexual abuse. Thank God for Africa.

Just goes to show what politicians think of tax money. They think its theirs to bolster egos boated with self importance.
Its time we got rid of these sped thrifts trying to look like big shots with our money that could actually help Canadians.

I suspect that they are so eager to give aid money because it ends up back in their own pockets. Think sponsorship scandal. I believe that that is were aid money goes. We know for a fact that that is what happened to the aid money that was sent to Haiti, I doubt any other aid money is any different.
I’m surprised we don’t prop up the basket case that is Abu Dhabi as well.
Robert and minuteman are on to something. If you read the whole article it appears that much of this “aid’ is meant to grease sales of products to the recipient nation. But, in this case the “aid” was meant to grease the sale of British Typhoon aircraft to India. France’s “aid” may have been of a different nature.
However impossible it may sound, the British have their head stuck up their collective ass.
The politicians are complete idiots, of course they don’t pay, its some other people.

Yes the colonies have all grown up. Christians in Africa are now sending missionaries to Britain.
Every Liberal Left knows that the little brown people are stupid and can’t look after themselves, even if we promote how much better than us they are.
On one hand Indian’s are superior to a white Canadian in every way, language, culture and religion with a better economy and more billionaires than we could ever imagine. On the other, let’s give them money because they are incapable of looking after their 5000 year old society.
