When I visited the House of Lords’ minister, Lord Marland, at the Climate Change Department a couple of years ago, I asked him and the Department’s chief number-cruncher, Professor David Mackay (neither a climate scientist nor an economist, of course) to show me the Department’s calculations detailing just how much “global warming” that might otherwise occur this century would be prevented by the $30 billion per year that the Department was committed to spend between 2011 and 2050 – $1.2 trillion in all.

That they passed a “climate change act” says so much about the out of control hubris – backed up by ignorance (a very dangerous combination) that the left in the UK are possessed by.
Just look at our own power bills here, the cost of power is skyrocketing and everyone just whines, they don’t look at the massive subsidies that have to go into the giant bird blenders through phoney schemes like, if my company burns so much diesel in the oil-sands, we will put up a windmill in the south with govt help to save the planet. This insanity is right here at home, the perpatrators of this SCAM should be stripped of the ill gotten wealth they have received. Yes we need more power lines here in AB but we need them to run from coal hydro even nuclear plants, not from every hill top where a whoosher stands..

Dalton McGuinty and his advisers might want to read this, though it wouldn’t change their program for “green” energy, and their on track projection to bankrupt Ont.
Ont own figures from IESO site at 1:00 EST show all operating wind turbines generating .4% of supply. We can assume most of about 1100 turbines are operative, as they generate revenue whether the electricity is needed or not. So if on a fairly typical winter afternoon the advanced wind technology can only generate 64 MW, how many turbines would be required to generate significant amounts of electricity? Paving over all of SW Ont cropland with turbines could not make a significant contribution to electricty supply. The program contributes very well to wind companies profits though, and this is the important thing for them and their Liberal friends.
These people selling this crap used to be called rainmakers the people that paid them were called fools you cannot control the weather. Is that simple enough.
Right now wind is supplying .005% of demand. That’s good investment.
Sask power is afraid to put their numbers up.

Well, Saskpower’s CEO is a telecommunication guy and Ryerson graduate (Not that there’s anything wrong with that but it probably explains much of the current direction of the company). Like most of SaskPowers’s CEOs, his understanding of the electrical industry is limited and secondary to political and/or business ambitions.
Spend all you want, nature will go in whatever direction it chooses. Right now, looks like that be down.

Ken I showed you the start of this the other nite. When they start they just can’t quit.
My recent letter to Brad Wall pleading that his government stop throwing my tax dollars away by subsidizing frivolous green projects garnered a prompt reply. Score one for Brad’s communications team.
But….his response stated that ” [they] believe that our province must play a significant role in national efforts to reduce greenhouse gas [GHG] emissions. Our government acknowledges there is varying research and conflicting points of view regarding climate change, and its cause.”
In other words they are too chickens**t to tell the greenies to get stuffed. If they continue down this path they will lose my vote, and I made that clear.
It is reasonable that governments pander to this “movement”. Politicians’ first priority is to get re-elected and when faced with the biggest, most comprehensive PR campaign in all of history…the result is inevitable.
Especially when faced with the enormity of how grossly the MSM maninipulated Maobama’s election.
The two events cannot be deemed separate issues but are one and the same. A poorly educated citizenry who cannot name their MP or Congressman but were glued to their TV’s to see who shot JR.
