Your morning cartoon.    And at the Bee.

“This is a mind virus.”

Yes it is. And if you find yourself dipping a toe in this fever swamp, step back. Touch grass. Touch snow.

National Disunity

While some aboriginal communities welcome the prospect of roads and mines in the so-called Ring of Fire zone in Ontario, some clearly don’t. They prefer to live in a “pristine” wilderness that for some reason is not pristine enough to provide clean drinking water for thirty years.

The province has released a Ring of Fire ad that uses Ford’s slogan from the 2025 election: “Protect Ontario” and makes a sales pitch on development. “What about protect Neskantaga?” Marcus Moonias says. “I’m so mad about it.”

“I almost threw my television at the wall,” he says about the commercial.

Bigger dreams are starting to enter Mamakwa’s mind. He thinks one day a First Nation political party could hold the balance of power in Ottawa, like a Bloc Québécois of the north.

Is Our Diversities Learning?

Watch and wonder.

Previous, in case you missed it yesterday.
Update: Following our story on White City Councillor Shahnaz Sultana, the mayor and council voted to temporarily relieve Sultana of all her additional committee and representative duties. She will still be able to attend council meetings and vote as there are no provisions in the municipal act for impeachment or recall of a councillor.

Wednesday On Turtle Island

The Democratic Party’s America:   Victor Davis Hanson – Undermining the Commander in Chief.  Migrant visits a Target store.  Josh Shapiro.

Conman Carney’s Canada:  DEI workshops cost over 1 billion.  577 diversity staffers.  Uber drivers.  Chow.

Your morning meme.    Another meme.     A cartoon.

We Need A Famine

New York Post;

The man accused of attempting to blow up both the Republican and Democratic National Committees in Washington, DC on Jan 5. 2021 was a highly active My Little Pony fan.

Brian Cole Jr., 30, was seemingly obsessed with the toys — marketed at young girls — creating art of plastic pony dolls, remixes of songs about them, and writing fan fiction dedicated to them.[..]

A former high school classmate told The Washington Post that Cole had carried a My Little Pony backpack and had been teased for it.

Uncritical Unthinking

Save your money. What you are likely to be subjected to is hardly worth the tuition.

Take these lines, from the opening of a master’s thesis recently accepted by the University of Toronto, for instance: “I also wrote this paper for myself, because I needed an explanation for my own existence. It became a method of explaining why I don’t exist yet,” wrote Narisa Vickers.

Moving on from the author’s existential crisis, Vickers’ thesis is titled, “Female Dopers, Gender Fraudulences, and Racialized Bodies: The Misgendering of Imane Khelif.”

Blog Notes

A note on User Registrations: With the institution of account registration for SDA commentors, one of my daily rituals is deletion of spam account sign ups.

While most of these are blindingly obvious or have been flagged for forum abuse, others are more discrete. When in doubt, my default is to delete. If you are a legitimate reader whose sign up was removed in error, shoot me an email and we’ll get you fixed up.

A word of advice: use your regular email address and complete all of the fields in your account. The more creative you are (throw-away email domains, etc) the more likely your privileges will be denied.

Is Our Diversities Learning?

The address in White City is for a McMansion without a sign or playground equipment, and the only “Creative” Cubs child care mention that Google can find is a Facebook account for a location in Radium Hot Springs. Seems legit.

Related news from Saskatchewan’s leading news provider: “Council reviewed a report outlining discrepancies in remuneration claims submitted between December 2024 and February 2025, totaling approximately $11,500 in overpayments. These discrepancies were attributed to misinterpretations of the Council Remuneration Policy, particularly among newly elected members.”

The plot thickens…

The Libranos: For Services Rendered

Montreal Journal;

“Elections Quebec is seeking to understand why almost all employees linked to the Liberal Party of Canada who helped Pablo Rodriguez in his campaign for the leadership of the Quebec Liberal Party received $1000. […]

Among them are ten people from the Liberal Party of Canada (PLC), nine of whom contributed $500 to Mr.’s campaign. Rodriguez. This is the case of Geneviève Hinse, the former chief of staff of Pablo Rodriguez in Ottawa, the same one who was laid off three weeks ago by MP Marwah Rizqy.

Dispatches from the Maple Gulag Truck Stop

Bankruptcies abound, yet the Mark Carney’s job numbers show a huge increase in transportation and warehousing?  I am starting to think the job numbers are prepared by the same people who said Mark Carney would win by a landslide in Alberta.  Trucking News reports on bankruptcies in Canada and Freightwaves reports on US bankruptcies, so any news of growth in the industry is highly suspicious.  Several months ago Gord Magill reported on the financial chinanery in the trucking industry

Sonar truck freight index shows an 11% decrease this year after several years of decreases.  Yet somehow we are supposed to believe the economy is adding jobs when trucking is failing, construction jobs are down and housing sales are flat?  Something stinks in the state of Denmark.

Our Chinese-Installed Government In Ottawa

All of our toothless laws go in the same direction.

Behind the hundreds of pages of civil filings reviewed by The Bureau lies a failure of governance as urgent as the unchecked advance of Latin cartels into Canadian cities — and as lethal as the synthetic opioids tied to the Surrey home.

British Columbia has been chasing the same house, and the same alleged transnational traffickers, through raids, affidavits and Charter of Rights battles since before fentanyl became a household word — and still has not managed to take the keys away.

The case documents explicitly point to a criminal-defence-friendly Supreme Court of Canada ruling — Stinchcombe, notoriously cited by police leaders — and to its role in undermining numerous major prosecutions involving networks tied to alleged narcoterror suspect Ryan Wedding and modern Canadian fentanyl-lab operators. One of those networks is the Wolfpack, a hybrid of Mexican cartels, Middle Eastern threat networks and biker gangs said to be supplied by Chinese Communist Party–linked criminal organizations and other Latin American cartel interests.

Tuesday On Turtle Island

The Democratic Party’s America:  My biggest regret.  Dems defend the indefensible.  Millions to not assimilate.   Victor Davis Hanson – Immigration gone wild.

Mohammad Carney’s Canada:  Hamas in the RCMP?   Antisemitism.   A closing of the Canadian mind.   The renaming of everything continues.

Stories You Won’t Find At Carney’s CBC:  The grammar of liberty.  Return of the mask maniacs.  Climate alarmism downgraded.

Your morning meme.      And at the Bee.
