The Democrats and the Deep State: Rotten Through and Through
In point of fact, I bet that the honourable FBI agents – and there must be lots of them – are overjoyed that their corrupt colleagues and managers are systematically being removed!

This is better than porn. (Threadroll)
I’m truly honoured to be a part of the SDA family. The collective wisdom of SDA commenters is clearly far better than all of the politicians in Ottawa. Here’s a perfect example, posted by Trodwell yesterday:
The Liberals don’t want to fix the problem (and there IS a problem, and there IS a fix). They want this issue. They think they can run against Trump by re-running the same “moral panic” play they ran during Covid. And the mindless sheep that “vote left for total self-destruction” in Canada over and over again just might give it to them, same as they did the last time.
Want the answer? It’s right there in Trump’s executive order. ““The Secretary of Homeland Security shall inform the President of any circumstances that, in the opinion of the Secretary of Homeland Security, indicate that the Government of Canada has taken ADEQUATE steps to alleviate this public health crisis through cooperative enforcement actions. Upon the President’s determination of SUFFICIENT action to alleviate the crisis, the tariffs described in section 2 of this order shall be removed.”
All it would take would be to man up and begin to take meaningful steps to secure the border and to clamp down on illegal immigration and drug smuggling, which would be immensely good for both Canada and the US (and which would also begin to solve the problem of illegal handguns being smuggled north from the US, which is ANOTHER problem Trudeau doesn’t want to solve because it’s easier to justify confiscating guns from licensed Canadian firearms owners if he can lie and pretend that they’re the source of illegal guns, not the U.S.). At the same time, it might not be a bad idea to try to tackle the tsunami of Chinese drug money laundering through the cesspool of B.C. that is increasingly making its way west. Or it would be a good idea if the Canadian left wasn’t a subsidiary of the CPC.
But the Liberals – and I include the corpulent moron Doug Ford in that abject mob – don’t want to fix these problems. They’d rather profit politically from them, from the resultant economic ruin, and from the corpses of the dead Canadians (and Americans) that are the grimly obvious end-state. They’d rather rule over the ash heap, and in the process, “turn us all to beggars ’cause they’re easier to please.” Canada isn’t Trump’s target; his target is the criminally incompetent morons that we insist on electing, and the civilizational chaos they and their ilk are causing around the world. Fortunately, that problem has an easy fix too, and the sooner the better.
Related: Jamie MacMaster, a longtime SDA commenter, shared this op-ed he wrote back in 2009.
Mexico may need to temporarily give up some of its sovereignty and invite U.S. Special Forces into their country in order to destroy the drug cartels.
On the other hand, to solve most of Canada’s problems, the Governor General just needs to invite Apu & Krusty the Clown to replace Trudeau & Singh.

15+ years ago, Bill Kristol was generally viewed as an outspoken DC pundit who defended conservative principles, looking out for the best interests of America. But, in 2015, he caught a bad case of TDS and has been the poster boy for RINOs ever since.
However, in recent days, the investigations going on at DOGE have revealed that there has been another reason, a financial one, fueling Kristol’s animosity towards Trump and MAGA. Follow the money!

BREAKING: Trump blinks! Canada gets 30 day tariff reprieve based on border plan
I just had a good call with President Trump. Canada is implementing our $1.3 billion border plan — reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology and personnel, enhanced coordination with our American partners, and increased resources to stop the flow of fentanyl. Nearly 10,000 frontline personnel are and will be working on protecting the border.
In addition, Canada is making new commitments to appoint a Fentanyl Czar, we will list cartels as terrorists, ensure 24/7 eyes on the border, launch a Canada- U.S. Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime, fentanyl and money laundering. I have also signed a new intelligence directive on organized crime and fentanyl and we will be backing it with $200 million.
Proposed tariffs will be paused for at least 30 days while we work together.
President Trump says he agreed to “immediately pause” tariffs on Mexico for a month after a “very friendly” conversation with the country’s president Claudia Sheinbaum.
“I just spoke with President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico. It was a very friendly conversation wherein she agreed to immediately supply 10,000 Mexican Soldiers on the Border separating Mexico and the United States,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “These soldiers will be specifically designated to stop the flow of fentanyl, and illegal migrants into our Country,” he wrote.

Critics of Trump typically assert that his political moves are motivated solely by a desire to be a bully, but in reality there’s a fairly complex political ideology behind them. It’s not new and it’s been in the works for decades, as Julius Ruechel points out in this Substack essay. No matter what you think of Trump, it’s important to understand the ideas that motivate him and his supporters. And it’s clear that Trump is not a fan of limited government.
In [Bannon’s] view, the only question was whether the future would be populist nationalism or populist socialism.
The populist nationalist is essentially Trump’s “Make America Great Again” or Putin’s conservative nationalism — state-regulated capitalist nation-states unashamedly acting to defend their national interests and acting for the collective benefit of their own citizens, much as nations have always done, but with both military and corporate might harnessed to an even greater degree to defend national interests and optimize society. Individuals and businesses inside the “national fortress” are largely left in peace to pursue “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” within the confines of the nation’s sandbox as long as their activities don’t impinge on national interests, even as the largest corporations are incentivized and/or coerced to pursue objectives that the political leaders believe will serve the country as a whole…

Watch the polls though. It seems that a large number of Canadians are fully against Trump and supporting the Lieberals. Trudeau & Carney would rather accelerate the ship towards the iceberg, rather than change anything with the way the country is being governed.

Forgive me for this being a rather personal post, but hopefully you’ll quickly understand why I’m making it. Twitter and Facebook have been on fire this past evening. As a Canadian, who spent most of my life living across Canada, but the last 11 years living across America, I think I have a rather fortuitous vantage point to observe, listen, and comment on viewpoints from a wide cross section of people. As this earlier post suggests, and posts from many Canadian friends confirms, it seems that almost all Canadian normies are only capable of first-stage thinking when it comes to anything related to Trump. While he is playing 4D chess, they’re playing checkers.
A Canadian woman married to an American was complaining in a Facebook post that her American in-laws were “making really mean comments about Canada”. I thought about this for awhile and then shared the following with her:
We each are the sum of our own experiences, right? I was born & raised in Vancouver, but lived 2 years in Northern Manitoba, 5 years in Northern Ontario (visiting Toronto often), and 16 months in Montréal. I’ve now lived 11 years in America, the first 6 in San Francisco and the last 4 across the country in all 48 contiguous states.
While in America, of course I get the usual jokes:
But, I’ve generally been well received by 99.9% of all Americans I’ve met (actually 100% but I’m leaving open the possibility of some idiot one day). If anything, there are more concerns about my California license plate and the arrogance that too frequently comes with that.
But throughout my life in Canada, and now upon my visits back there, wayyyy too many Canadians don’t hold back with THE NASTIEST, most passive-aggressive comments I’ve ever heard. I didn’t think the anti-American comments of Europeans could be topped but a whole lot of my fellow Canadians have done so without fail.
I fully accept and respect that the experiences of others may be different. I’m just sharing my truth.
Dear SDA commenters, what have been your experiences of Canadians talking about Americans and vice-versa?
Here are some stickers I spotted at a rural Indiana gas station on Friday.
🚨 #BREAKING: Panama is exiting China’s Belt and Road agreement after Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit – Free Beacon
President Mulino said he plans to NOT renew it when it expires in a “year or two” – BUT, he wants to see if the agreement can be exited EARLY.
This agreement essentially increases China’s economic influence in member countries.
President Donald Trump has been pressuring Panama to curb Chinese influence around the Canal – and Rubio was sent this weekend to convey this message.
Martin Armstrong- Trump vs Federal Unions
This is the famous cartoon on the Spoils System in politics by Thomas Nast with a statue of Andrew Jackson on a pig, which is over “fraud”, “bribery”, and “spoils”, eating “plunder”. This appeared in Harper’s Weekly on April 28, 1877, p. 325. The Spoils System has been a practice in politics whereby after winning an election, the victor gives government jobs to their supporters, friends /cronies, and relatives/nepotism as a reward for helping in their victory. As the saying that emerged with Jackson as he sought to drain the SWAMP of the establishment of the old Federalists entrenched in the North, “to the victor belong the spoils.”

Trump’s Executive Order spelling out his tariffs on Canada, verbatim
Make absolutely no mistake, these tariffs will cost American and Canadian families more: Sask Premier Scott Moe
Alberta will continue to strenuously oppose any effort to ban exports to the U.S. or export taxes: Premier Danielle Smith
This is an attack on our country and on British Columbia families that will not go unanswered: BC Premier David Eby
Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation to remove all alcohol from the United States from their shelves: Nova Scotia premier
‘No victory dances’ in Alberta’s oil and gas sector, but relief over lower tariffs
It’s not just about tariffs. If you examine what the America First advisers around Trump really think, you’ll understand their determination to undertake a sweeping overhaul of the global economic system — and why they’re starting with Canada. Brian’s guests this week, trade researcher Carlo Dade, from the Canada West Foundation, and Ian Lee, public policy professor at Carlton University, have done their homework…
The ad interruptions are irritating, but stick with it.
PBS’s Frontline tends to present long form interviews of historic events in a non-biased manner. Such is the case with recent interviews about Trump’s Comeback with Megyn Kelly and Lisa Lerer. Most enjoyable over a large cup of coffee.
