Because he plays for their team: How come Justin Trudeau’s environment minister, Steven Guilbeault, gives China a pass on its emissions but won’t even bother to negotiate new clean electricity regulations or fossil fuel subsidies with his fellow Canadians in Alberta?

The Telegraph- Trudeaumania unravels as Canada grows disillusioned with liberals
If the elder Trudeau had promised to elevate Canada into the “Just Society”, his son has sought to remake it in his own image — the “Justin Society”. But Canadians are not a fan club and the emperor of cool turns out to have no clothes. Despite grand pronouncements on social issues, the younger Trudeau appears to favour symbolism over substance.
Diversity Is Our Strength
I can’t believe the Global News honchos allowed those first five words to slip out.
The politics of northeastern Africa spilled over at several locations in Edmonton Saturday afternoon, prompting a huge police presence and the riot act being read in order to break up fights at a cultural gathering, soccer tournament and musical event.
“I would say today’s event in Edmonton was an unprecedented event,” Edmonton Police Service Insp. Brenda Dalziel said during a rare Saturday evening news conference. […]
The soccer match — billed as an event meant to promote world peace — instead descended into chaos Saturday afternoon, forcing the Edmonton Police Service to send in a large number of officers in tactical gear to keep two fighting sides separated.
At approximately 11 a.m., police responded to 132nd Avenue and 113A Street, where the festival and demonstration had reportedly moved to the park at Rosslyn School.
The Canada World Peace Soccer Tournament was taking place at several locations in north Edmonton on Saturday, including that park.
Fights broke out between groups of men on the field, where dozens of officers wearing tactical gear descended while the Air 1 helicopter hovered overhead.

Canada’s annual Inflation rate crept upward to 3.3% in July, an increase from 2.8% in June, and once again outside the Bank of Canada’s target rate of 2% with a range of 1% to 3%.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 3.3% year over year in July. On a year-over-year basis, energy prices fell less in July (-8.2%) compared with June (-14.6%). That’s because oil hit an all-time high 12 months ago, so now inflation will resume its rise
Prices for gasoline fell 12.9% year over year in July, compared to a 21.6% decline in June. This was the result of a base-year effect, with prices remaining nearly unchanged on a month-over-month basis in July 2023.
The real proof that inflation is still climbing, will come in a few weeks when the Bank of Canada announces another interest rate increase. Don’t expect the Liberals to brag about their “measures working”, the way they did last month.

Canada’s Future Trans Prime Minister?

Sadly, Some Predictions Come True
SDA regular, Jamie MacMaster, received a most interesting email from Maxime Bernier:
Exactly five years ago, I denounced Trudeau’s cult of diversity and extreme multiculturalism in six tweets that caused general consternation in the media and political class.
My then leader Andrew Scheer and some of my Conservative colleagues publicly denounced me. A few days later, I resigned from that party. Weeks later, I announced the launch of the PPC.
It’s more important than ever that we have this debate about the future of our country, as Trudeau is implementing his mass immigration plan that is destroying Canada’s identity, economy, social cohesion, and way of life.
As you can see below, my tweets were absolutely sensible and on the mark, despite the hysteria that greeted them.
1/ Trudeau keeps pushing his “diversity is our strength” slogan. Yes, Canada is a huge and diverse country. This diversity is part of us and should be celebrated. But where do we draw the line?
2/ Ethnic, religious, linguistic, sexual and other minorities were unjustly repressed in the past. We’ve done a lot to redress those injustices and give everyone equal rights. Canada is today one of the countries where people have the most freedom to express their identity.
3/ But why should we promote ever more diversity? If anything and everything is Canadian, does being Canadian mean something? Shouldn’t we emphasize our cultural traditions, what we have built and have in common, what makes us different from other cultures and societies?
4/ Having people live among us who reject basic Western values such as freedom, equality, tolerance and openness doesn’t make us strong. People who refuse to integrate into our society and want to live apart in their ghetto don’t make our society strong.
5/ Trudeau’s extreme multiculturalism and cult of diversity will divide us into little tribes that have less and less in common, apart from their dependence on government in Ottawa. These tribes become political clienteles to be bought with taxpayers $ and special privileges.
6/ Cultural balkanisation brings distrust, social conflict, and potentially violence, as we are seeing everywhere. It’s time we reverse this trend before the situation gets worse. More diversity will not be our strength, it will destroy what has made us such a great country.
Canada is Back
This is the Canada I remember. When I was 18, fresh out of school, the job market was so bad that you had to know someone to get a job at McDonald’s. Things slowly got better, but I never saw a ‘Help Wanted’ sign anywhere other than in the movies until 1995. In less than 8 years Justin Trudeau has taken us back 40 years.

The other 39% are newly arrived immigrants: A recent survey by Ottawa-based Abacus Data showed 61 per cent of respondents believed Canada’s immigration target is too high, and 63 per cent of them said the number of immigrants coming to the country was having a negative impact on housing.

Diversity Is Our Strength
So strong, it’s our newest sacred cow.
The benchmark price for a Canadian home has more than doubled over the past decade, reaching $760,600 (US$572,470) in June. Trudeau’s government, which took power in 2015, has also steadily raised its annual immigration targets, with more than one million people arriving last year, straining an already tight housing supply.
Poilievre has hammered Trudeau on the issue, focusing on the anger of younger generations. Canada’s housing affordability is among the worst in the world, he told reporters Tuesday outside the Parliament building in Ottawa.
“Rent has doubled,” he said. “Mortgage payments, doubled. Needed down payments, doubled. All after eight years of Justin Trudeau.”
To be sure, skyrocketing housing costs have many causes beyond Trudeau’s control. Provinces and cities — responsible for land-use planning, zoning and permitting — bear some of the blame, as do real estate investors, foreign buyers, years of rock-bottom interest rates and other factors.
Still, Canada’s ambitious immigration targets have outpaced home building, aggravating the imbalance between demand and supply. In the 12 months to March, 4 to 5 international migrants arrived in Canada for every newly started unit of housing construction. That’s the highest ratio of new Canadians to new homes on record in data going back to 1977.
Poilievre, however, repeatedly sidestepped reporters’ questions on Tuesday about whether he would reduce immigration targets.
And we already serve a herd of them.

But mostly,future Liberal voters.
I Want A New Country
Jason Nixon, now back in the inner circle of the UCP government led by Premier Danielle Smith, says many of those he represents in the legislature, those around the Sundre, Rocky Mountain House and Rimbey area, feel abused by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
His attacks on Alberta, his attacks on the oilpatch. They are well past fed up.
Nixon doesn’t hold back, slamming Trudeau for treating different parts of the country differently.
“The biggest threat to Confederation isn’t Albertans. We’re patriotic Canadians. It’s Justin Trudeau. He is the threat to Confederation. He wants to break it up. He is a threat to Canada, not Alberta,” says Nixon [..]
We do know after Smith’s latest meeting with Trudeau, where he wouldn’t budge on his impossible oilpatch emission targets for the next seven years or a net-zero electricity grid in a dozen years, the Alberta premier did say the province’s sovereignty act could be triggered if Ottawa doesn’t compromise and show some sense of reality.
The sovereignty act, where Alberta would just not follow Trudeau’s orders.
If the premier defies Ottawa in the name of Alberta, Nixon is confident there would be widespread support for “any actions it will take to defend our province from a hostile prime minister and a hostile federal government.”
“The premier’s job, and she knows it and I completely support her, is to defend Albertans and not try to appease elites in eastern Canada,” says Nixon.
“That’s not her job. Her job is to defend Albertans and that’s what she’s going to do.”
Trudeau is importing hundreds of thousands of immigrant voters for a reason, Mr. Nixon.

The Libranos: Man The Lifeboats
The odds are shortening on Trudeau calling a Fall election. Cabinet shuffle tomorrow, Ministers announcing they will not be running, Trudeau storming through the Liberal backyards of the nation.
I expect Trudeau will use his usual tactic of running against something. Last time it was the unvaccinated. This time my bet is that he’ll run against “Alberta and Big Oil”, “American Tech Giants” and the unCanadian protestors showing up to heckle him.
The Liberal war room will run what amounts to a 150 seat campaign. Metro Toronto, Ilse de Montreal, very select Lower Mainland seats. It won’t be running to gain a majority, rather the focus will be on maximizing the efficiency of its vote.
There will be a serious attempt to “monster” @PierrePoilievre as the heir to Harper and as Trucker and Trump adjacent. That won’t come directly from Lib-HQ, rather it will emerge from the various “activist” communities the Libs have cultivated.
Because his economy turning is not yet done.
