We Don’t Need No Flaming Sparky Cars

Electric cars are very much in the news. The Tesla bubble looks like it may just have burst with static instead of exponentially rising sales, France has declared it will phase out diesel and petrol cars by 2040 and Volvo is to convert its whole model range to all electric or hybrid electric by 2019. The World is now gripped by ultra left wing Green politics driven by production quotas set by the policies of The United Nations and Green NGOs. The USA has awoken to this reality and plans to walk away while France just voted for it. Expensive policies with neglible benefits for the public at large that require subsidies instead of paying taxes can only end in economic tears.

Pure disgust.

Please, please let this go through.

In their court filing Monday, they are asking for an interim court order freezing the settlement funds “whether in the hands of [Mr. Khadr] or anyone else,” and an order requiring a full accounting of the money, including “the current location of all such funds, or property acquired thereby.” They also call for the appointment of a receiver to hold the cash, pending the outcome of their case.

One source told The Globe and Mail last week that the settlement money has been legally sheltered to prevent Ms. Speer’s lawyers from gaining access.
They also cite media reports that say the July 5 payment was “specifically expedited in light of this motion to ensure that the funds reached Khadr before they could be executed upon.”

They screwed over the victim, a single mother. Goodale, Trudeau, the rest; SOB terrorist sympathizers, the lot of them. Probably having a good laugh about it.
“Hahah. We did it in the summer!”, “No one cares.”, “The plebes will forget by September, let alone the election.”

Shark Decade

Is it just me or are we hearing more about this now-a-days? Naturally the shark apologists all claim attacks are down.
I’ve done my share of swimming in the Pacific, pretty much the entire ring from Vancouver Island to Australia and I honestly hated every minute.
If it wasn’t the jelly-fish swarms around Vancouver Island, it was Tiger Shark warnings in Hawaii. Don’t even mention all the other things that’ll hurt, maim or kill you in the South Pacific. If I don’t have to spend another second in the ocean ever again, it’ll be good.
Perhaps I’m just a worrier, but give me a nice cold fresh-water lake in Saskatchewan any day. About the only thing you have to worry about is the leeches, black flies and mosquitos.
Well, those and the odd gluten addicted bear.

Steyn on Canada Day

From LindaL, Mark Steyn’s take on Canada’s first post-national, national celebration.

A national celebration of collective guilt is a hard act to pull off. An historical anniversary on which it’s unsafe to mention any history doesn’t leave a lot else. I tried to follow along, really I did. At one point on Saturday there was a fulsome introduction in both official languages, all about multiple Grammy awards, for Shania Twain.
