On the heels of a statewide mandate requiring all school bus purchases in New York State be electric by 2027, parents in the Lake Shore Central School District are speaking out, claiming some bus drivers are turning the heat down, or off completely, in an attempt to conserve battery life on their electric school buses.
WIVB News 4 has received several calls from concerned parents in the school district, which covers parts of Angola, Brant, and Derby, regarding their child’s bus trips to and from school, claiming they’re coming in freezing when they get home after getting off the bus.
The kids are coming home saying their bus is freezing cold and the parents are giving them hand warmers.
“The heaters on the bus run off the same electricity as the bus itself,” said Scott Ziobro, a former school board candidate and parent who has children who go to school in the district. “They were told that it drains the battery capacity of the bus itself.”

That Sinking Feeling
My advice to the Conservative Party of Canada: just be patient. Your time in the sun may be coming.
Statistics Canada says the economy stalled in November and early estimates suggest a decline in real gross domestic product for the final quarter of 2025.
November saw manufacturing of durable goods hit its lowest levels since 2011, outside the COVID-19 pandemic.
Update: Even the mainstream financial media is noticing that something is not right.
Canada’s main stock index fell 1,092.61 points or 3.3 per cent on Friday.
Margin Of Fraud
I suspect that something was found in the intelligence community’s possession substantiating a foreign nexus to election irregularities in Fulton County, Georgia. I suspect that FISA warrants and active Operations have pulled that thread and established an extensive record of evidence. I suspect that this is later into the investigation, rather than earlier.

“Don Lemon was taken into custody by federal agents last night”
Hey Don, did ya miss the new rules?
Disgraced ex-CNN anchor Don Lemon was arrested late Thursday over the anti-ICE protest that stormed a Minnesota church during Sunday service, according to his attorney.
“Don Lemon was taken into custody by federal agents last night in Los Angeles, where he was covering the Grammy awards,” Lemon’s attorney Abbe Lowell said in a statement shared with multiple reporters.
Lemon spent the night in jail and is expected to make a first appearance in court sometime Friday, according to Brian Stelter, the chief media analyst for Lemon’s former network.

An SDA regular noticed something odd with this article at CBC “News”:
Eight people have been arrested for allegedly accepting bribes for commercial driver examinations in Kingston and the Greater Toronto Area, said the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Investigators discovered bribes were used to gain “favourable consideration” during road examinations for the commercial Class A license at certain locations, said the OPP in a news release.
The investigation into fraudulent commercial driver exams was prompted last January at the request of the Ministry of Transportation, they said.
As our sleuthy citizen reporter mentioned, here’s betting the names of the charged are: Murphy, Davis, MacDonald, Harrison, Tremblay, Penner, Geisbrecht, and Jones.

I, For One, Welcome Our New Self-Driving Overlords
Simon Ree: Why the “AI Circular Funding Circus” is a serious macro risk for H1 2026
The Round-Trip Money Loop: $MSFT gives billions in funding to OpenAI. OpenAI then hands the money right back to $MSFT to pay for Azure cloud credits. $NVDA gives billions in “funding” to OpenAI. OpenAI then hands that money right back to $NVDA to buy GPUs…etc…
The Illusion: This creates “round-trip revenue”. It makes MSFT’s cloud business look like it has infinite growth, when a lot of that growth is just MSFT recycling its own cash
The 2026 Danger: OpenAI is now projecting a need for $1.4 trillion in infrastructure. If the killer app that generates trillion dollar revenue doesn’t appear soon, funding dries up, the revenue vanishes and the circus tent collapses on all comapnies
It’s a game of musical chairs where the music is just the same $20B being passed in a circle
The $GOOGL Factor in the AI Circus
Why $GOOGL is the house and everyone else is gambling
The Vertical Moat: Unlike OpenAI and $MSFT, who are “taxed” by $NVDAs 80% gross profit margins, Google uses its own TPUs (Tensor Processing Units)
The Cost Advantage: GOOGL’s TPU v6 (Ironwood) can run AI models at roughly 20% of the cost of the $NVDA chips $MSFT and OpenAI are forced to buy
$GOOGL can lower its AI prices to a level where OpenAI cannot compete without losing billions
And $GOOGL owns the whole stack, from the YouTube and search data to the chips and the consumer distribution ecosystem. They can survive a price war that would bankrupt a company reliant on external hardware
$GOOGL doesn’t need the circular funding circus to survive. They can simply wait for high-cost players to run out of cash
The 2 companies with the largest revenue exposure to OpenAI – $MSFT and $ORCL – have seen their combined market caps lost $1.1 trillion since their peaks
The legal showdown between Musk and OpenAI is scheduled to go to court on 27 April, 2026. If the court rules in favour of Musk, the concentration risk I talked about in my post yesterday could become a full-blown financial crisis for big tech.

Despicable Actions Must Have Consequences
Today, I received the email shown below from the Juno Beach Centre in France, directing me to this URL.
Here’s what I wrote back to them:
You periodically ask me for donations. I’ve visited your facility before. It’s excellent. It well honours the brave Canadian men who died on June Beach on June 6, 1944 and in the many months afterwards to free Europe of the Nazi scourge.
But in 2022, you besmirched the good names of Tamara Lich, Chris Barber, and the other patriotic folks who protested the ridiculous, seemingly unending Covid mandates imposed by Justin Trudeau and his colleagues. The folks behind the Freedom Trucker Protest have been proven to entirely correct in what they were fighting for, including in several court cases. But you’ve never apologized, sincerely or otherwise.
“Lest we forget” has a special meaning every Remembrance Day. But it has a double meaning for me regarding the Juno Beach Centre. I will never forget, which is why the only donation you’ll ever get from me is disdain. Continue reading

Brampton Man
Officers with Saskatchewan Highway Patrol’s Provincial Protective Services Branch stopped a truck and trailer around 12:40 a.m. on Jan. 20 and located what police described as a large quantity of illegal tobacco in the trailer. The driver, an adult man, was arrested at the scene.
Battlefords RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Yorkton Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team later continued the investigation. Police say a search of the vehicle uncovered 23 pallets of unstamped tobacco containing approximately 9.1 million cigarettes, which were seized.
Investigators also determined the driver was on court-ordered release conditions related to tobacco charges in Ontario, including a requirement not to be outside that province.
Harwinder Kahlon, 41, of Brampton, Ont., is charged with transporting or possessing unstamped tobacco for the purpose of sale under the Criminal Code, possession of unstamped tobacco under the Excise Act, possessing or transporting tobacco not marked in a prescribed manner under the Tobacco Tax Act, and failing to comply with an undertaking condition.

You Don’t Hate the Media Nearly Enough
A dear female friend of mine, who has likely voted Democrat her entire life, but isn’t a Woke Leftist, told me today that she’s worried that she could get deported from the U.S. I pointed out that she’s American, so this is impossible. She sent me this NPR article:
‘Homegrowns are next’: Trump hopes to deport and jail U.S. citizens abroad
President Trump says his administration is actively exploring a proposal to detain U.S. citizens and send them to prisons in El Salvador. Speaking Monday, minutes before a press briefing alongside El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, Trump could be heard embracing the concept.“The homegrowns are next, the homegrowns. You’ve got to build about five more places,” Trump said to Bukele, an apparent reference to prison space that would be needed in El Salvador to house U.S. citizens.
El Salvador is already holding hundreds of people in a maximum-security prison. They were flown from the U.S. in recent weeks after being detained for allegedly lacking legal status or having gang affiliations.
Read through the article by this journalist Leftist activist, Brian Mann, and see if you can spot the lack of context presented by him.
I did my own research and it revealed a very different picture:
Yes, there is substantial truth to the NPR report you linked, based on multiple corroborating sources. The article accurately reflects public statements made by President Trump in April 2025, where he expressed interest in exploring the deportation and imprisonment of certain U.S. citizens—referred to as “homegrowns” or “homegrown criminals”—in foreign facilities, specifically in El Salvador. These comments were made during discussions with El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele, and the White House confirmed at the time that the administration was studying the legal feasibility of such an approach for violent, repeat offenders.
Truth be told, I find it odd that Trump mentioned any of this, but the chance of my friend being deported is zero. Isn’t it “interesting” that none of this context was included in Mann’s diatribe. He is Exhibit ‘A’ of why we don’t hate the media nearly enough.
