“put a chick in it and make it gay!”

“Democrats need to embrace Hollywood because this is where they need to come to learn how to tell a story.“ – Michael Moore

As I reported last Friday, the irreverent and often hilarious show South Park took a swing at the infection of woke culture in the arts and took specific aim at Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and Disney. The clips of the show alone went viral across the internet, sparking a very unwanted conversation for Disney about the direction it’s gone and the bad will it created with audiences.

But amid all the voices commenting about Disney, Carano’s words were the loudest as her post on X contained an insider’s look at, not just the state of Lucasfilm, but the terrible weakness and insecurity of its studio head, Kennedy […]

Carano revealed that, during her employment with Lucasfilm, she was asked to unfollow certain accounts on Twitter because they’d said some bad things about Kennedy. Carano saw this as an issue because she knew that being in the public eye meant getting haters, but Carano also saw these people as opportunities to win over new fans. Moreover, some of these “haters” were actual fans of Star Wars that felt the universe had gone in the wrong direction, and that their criticisms were worth listening to.

But Kennedy didn’t just ignore them, she actively had these fans attacked, causing one of the worst collapses of a fan base in history.

Mischief is important.

“…nobody had spotted it for five years.”

Is Wikipedia reliable?

It’s December 2012, and someone’s just noticed something is wrong on the Internet.

Wikipedia editor ShelfSkewed (happily that’s a pseudonym) has been clicking links in an article about an obscure 17th-Century war that raged between the Portuguese rulers of Goa, western India, and the neighbouring Maratha Empire. It was called the Bicholim Conflict, after the North Goa district it mostly took place in.

Haven’t you heard of the Bicholim Conflict? ShelfSkewed certainly hadn’t. He wanted to know more – and started investigating the extensive sources listed at the bottom of the article.

But then he found many of the links led him straight to one article: the one he was editing. A perfect loop.

Ruh-roh.

Nothingburger trials

It’s not actually the case that bail violation charges against Tamara Lich were dropped, but rather that they were stayed, so that the prosecution could “focus” on the current trial. For a charge of mischief, it’s seems that Lich and Barber were charged based on the hope that enough evidence to convict them would magically appear afterward. So far, the fishing expedition seems to be reeling in very little.

The trial was originally scheduled to be finished on Oct. 13 but it has been stalled by delays related to the disclosure of evidence and legal arguments about the admissibility of testimony and social media posts.

The Crown is expected to call more witnesses before it completes its case. Justice Heather Perkins-McVey has said she expects the legal arguments in the case will be lengthy and complex.

The lawyers have struggled to set time to continue the trial because of conflicting schedules and scarce court time.

Whatsisname’s Britain

Where the foxes caper unmolested, the government packs your school lunch and Big Brother gets a few pokes in the eye;

At least 510 Ulez cameras were stolen or vandalised between 1 April and the end of August this year, figures from the Metropolitan Police show.

The force is dedicating a “significant amount” of resources to tackling Ulez camera-related crime, Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has said.

Two arrests have been made so far, with one person charged and released on bail and the other case discontinued. Sir Mark told LBC there were “other investigations ongoing”.

The ultra-low emission charging zone was expanded on 29 August to include outer London, with cameras installed to enforce it.

Drivers must pay a charge of £12.50 per day to drive a non-compliant vehicle anywhere in the zone under the controversial clean-air plan.

The Met commissioner said of the figures: “Clearly this is quite serious damage it adds up to in terms of property and that is the basis [on which] we judge it.

“So it is getting, I guess, a significant amount of policing resources.”

Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin’

Keep the buses rollin’…

Its governor’s press office said in June, “In April 2022, Governor Abbott directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to charter buses to transport migrants from Texas to Washington, D.C. The Governor added New York City, Chicago, and Philadelphia as additional drop-off locations last year and most recently added Denver as a busing destination last month. Since beginning the migrant busing strategy last spring, more than 21,600 migrants have been transported to these self-declared sanctuary cities while providing much-needed relief to Texas’ overwhelmed border communities.”

Battles are usually fought with horses, tanks or aeroplanes. Greg Abbott used buses. As of June, he shipped 500 busloads of illegal aliens to sanctuary cities. The shipments continue.

You want ’em, you got ’em.

It turns out, sanctuary cities don’t want them.
