Schadenfrozen

NYT;

Since November, the amount of natural gas arriving in Germany from Russia has plunged, driving prices through the roof and draining reserves. These are changes that Gazprom, Russia’s state-controlled energy behemoth, has been regularly pointing out.

“As much as 85 percent of the gas injected in Europe’s underground gas storage facilities last summer is already withdrawn,” Gazprom said on Twitter a couple of weeks ago, adding that “facilities in Germany and France are already two-thirds empty.”

Surely, spring will arrive in time.

Convoy to Ottawa: A Seat at the Table

Back on December 19th, 2021, I tweeted this and pinned it to my account: “My prediction for #NewYear2022. Truck driver protests around the world will shut EVERYTHING down.” A very bold prediction. Several people scoffed at it. I was told it would never happen. But it wasn’t a bold prediction, not at all, because it was already happening.

Driving truck has always been a love hate relationship; truck drivers love the open road, the adventure, and the phenomenal comradery between drivers – the code of ALWAYS helping one another out, no matter what. What truck drivers have always hated is the way they’re treated; shipper/receivers screaming at them simply for being there; DOT officers ticketing them for signing their permits in black ink instead of blue ink – yes, that really happens. The list goes on, but you get the idea.  There were always the rumblings: “If we all just got together, we could shut this country down and change things.” But that never happened. Until it did.

On April 25, 2019, Rogel Aguilera – Maderos was driving on Interstate I-70 when his brakes failed and he crashed into several vehicles, killing 4 people and injuring others. Aguilera-Mederos was charged, convicted and in November 2021 sentence to 110 years in prison. The American truck drivers believed the sentence was an injustice considering Mederos was an inexperienced driver, an immigrant from Cuba, who was pushed beyond his abilities by an industry that refuses to acknowledge the training and skill required to be a professional driver. Truck drivers quickly organized a boycott of Colorado. After 2 weeks of truck drivers refusing to enter the state of Colorado, Governor Jared Polis stepped in and reduced Aguilera-Mederos’ sentence to 10 years. I don’t think even the President of the United States could manage to get a sentenced reduced that quickly. Truck drivers had stood together and made a difference. The precedent was established.  The convoy to Ottawa, whether inspired by the Colorado boycott or not, tapped into the power of unity. It was inevitable, as every group with any clout, whether it be farmers, First Nations, or environmentalists, have used large scale protests and road blockades to advance their causes and concerns. Like it or not, that is the technique that works. Today no government will do anything without first consulting the above-mentioned groups. Truck drivers have now taken their seat at the table of power.

The Convoy to Ottawa is an enormous success. It has spawned a global revolution against The Great Reset. From Estonia to Bolivia to Australia, everyday there are more people revolting against tyrannical leadership by simply embracing their friends and family once again. Every freedom loving person around the world wants to be a Canadian trucker. By the end of the month the mandates will fall. Governments will be ousted, and new ones elected. People will look back at the last couple years and be embarrassed that they ever allowed their freedom to be taken away from them. And where will the truck drivers be when it’s all over? They will be back doing what they love, driving the highways of the world, supplying the world with literally everything. Soon people will once again forget that truck drivers even exist. Until the next time.

Verified Information on Where to Safely Donate to the Freedom Truckers Convoy

“Italian Fascism involved a corporatist political system in which the economy was collectively managed by employers, workers and state officials by formal mechanisms at the national level.” – Reference

As published a few hours ago, it is absolutely true that the weak corporate cowards at GoFundMe have succumbed to the pressure from “powerful forces”.  To that end, and following up on what Tim Pool wrote, here’s a related message posted on Telegram:

So, if you have donated via GoFundMe, please contact your bank and dispute the charge to your credit card or bank account.

Learning all of the above, I immediately wrote GiveSendGo and received definitive, accurate information of where you can now safely donate funds to help the Freedom Protesters restore our freedoms: GiveSendGo.com/FreedomConvoy2022 (Please be patient because their servers are overwhelmed so you may very well get a 502 Gateway Error. Try again an hour later.)

The Racist, Islamophobic, Transphobic, Misogynist Conga Will Continue…

Until the freedom is improved.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister ACTUAL RACIST BLACKFACE Trudeau and his radical pals have decided to use taxpayers’ money in a very productive way.

New Green Economy

The bridge that just collapsed in the city of Pittsburgh was set to be restored in 2016. Instead of replacing the completely rusted out supports, they diverted the money to bike lanes, green energy programs and lanes for self driving cars.

From the comments: I live in PA. We have the highest gas tax in the nation. It was raised in 2013 with the additional funds supposed to go for bridge and highway repair. But in typical Democrat fashion, they looted the funds for other purposes. Here is just one example

Dynamite and a match

If the Bank of Canada follows through on raising the prime rate all the way to 2% within the year, the economic fireworks will make the pandemic seem like a picnic in the park.

Perrault thinks inflation, which accelerated to its fastest pace in more than 30 years in December , will force the central bank to raise its benchmark rate to two per cent by the end of the year from 0.25 per cent currently.

Suppose a manufacturer has a long term loan up for renewal at the end of the year, a loan that it is now paying 2% interest on, for a business plan with a return of 4%. What will be the effect on that company’s business plan when it finds the cost of borrowing suddenly 8% or higher? If anyone thinks supply chain issues are a problem now, just wait until a bunch of those suppliers are bankrupted.

My guess is that they won’t get past half a percent before the financial markets crater. The economy is teetering on a very thin knife edge right now.

Our 21st Century Economy

We must have a carbon tax, they said. What could possibly go wrong?

“Despite the dedication and best efforts over many years, Canadian-based operations do not fit within Schneider’s long-term strategic focus. This decision was difficult. The change will affect all 150 Canadian-based associates and drivers. We are working with associates during the transition. Company trucks and equipment will transfer to our U.S.-based network to continue to serve our customers and as we proceed with the sale of the Guelph, Ont., property. We expect Schneider will no longer have Canadian-based operations by the end of March. We have notified all our Canadian associates and will remain in regular communication with them over the coming months.”

Now they tell them: The Bank of Canada warns carbon taxes will cut into workers’ income and hinder economic growth for decades.

Tipping point?

At long last, it seems that the Mainstream Media, or at least some segment of it, may be tiring of fear porn. It remains to be seen whether the tipping point in the MSM can be reached before irreparable economic damage occurs.

We are pushing the complex systems upon which we depend and which are miraculously effective and efficient in their often thankless operation to their breaking point.

These systems are now shaking. We’re compromising them seriously with this unending and unpredictable stream of restrictions, lockdowns, regulations and curfews. We’re also undermining our entire monetary system, with the provision of unending largesse from government coffers, to ease the stress of the COVID response. We’re playing with fire.

Y2Kyoto: Cutting Edge Colonialism

“Hey Africa, we’ll take all that cobalt, but we decided your hydrocarbons have to stay in the ground”

Activists are keeping alive the colonialist tradition of looting developing countries of whatever the west wants, while keeping those developing populations in a state of arrested development because, well, rich, educated, elite people apparently know better.

Temporarily Unexpected

CNBC;

Wholesale prices rose 8.6% from a year ago in October, their highest annual pace in records going back nearly 11 years, the Labor Department said Tuesday.

The government’s producer price index, which serves as a gauge of final demand prices from goods producers, rose 0.6% for the month, in line with Dow Jones estimates and an indicator that inflation pressures are continuing to burden the U.S. economy. The monthly pace was faster than the 0.5% increase in September.

Stripping out food, trade and energy prices, the index increased 0.4% month over month, slightly below the 0.5% estimate but an elevated pace from September’s 0.1% gain. On a year-over-year basis, core producer prices increased 6.2%. The year-over-year records go back to November 2010.

Passport To Nowhere

Neil Oliver: We are not stupid. We have however, been too trusting.

Full text, here;

I watch world leaders speaking on TV, and I listen to and read the news, and I wonder how stupid they all think we are.

Take our own prime minister Boris Johnson. He was on Sky News this week and acknowledged that while the vaccine, offers a level of “protection against illness and death” it “doesn’t protect you against catching the disease and it doesn’t protect you against passing it on“

Surely that sentence right there means vaccine passports would be meaningless and pointless. Even if the day comes when every single person in the UK – from newborn babies upwards – has received the vaccines – the virus, assuming our prime minister’s statement is to be trusted, will continue to be spread among the population. Knowing that someone has been vaccinated will make no difference to whether or not you might catch Covid from them – or whether you might pass Covid on.

The inference to be drawn from Mr Johnson’s words is that the virus will continue to pass between vaccinated and unvaccinated alike. It may reasonably be inferred, therefore, that continued talk of vaccine passports is not about controlling the spread of the virus – rather it must be about controlling the movement of people seeking only to go about their law-abiding business.

It’s Probably Nothing

Looks like I picked a good time not to want an new car.

Essentially, you can’t make cars without aluminum. You can’t work with aluminum without using magnesium. And as of December, you may not be able to work with magnesium much — if at all. Amos Fletcher, analyst for Barclays, put it succinctly: “If magnesium supply stops, the entire auto industry will potentially be forced to stop.”

China has been in the midst of an energy crisis recently, with factories shutting down to conserve power. Unfortunately for the car industry, China is also the world’s primary supplier of magnesium — 85% of the world’s supply comes from the country.

The most prevalent magnesium-producing town in China, Yulin, just ordered 35 of its 50 production facilities to shut down. The remaining 15 have been told to scale back operations by half, leaving production drastically reduced.

This slowdown in magnesium wouldn’t be such an issue if the metal could be easily stored, but it’s got an incredibly short life span on its own. Magnesium oxidizes relatively quickly, and European reserves are expected to run dry by the end of November.

Hey, speaking of China’s grip on our gonads… how are we faring on the pharmaceutical front?
