Blacklock’s- Warns Budget Trouble Looms
Cabinet is three to four weeks away from budget trouble due to ongoing Commons gridlock.
Anand on Monday tabled a budget document Supplementary Estimates (B) that asked Parliament to vote for another $24.8 billion in spending by Christmas.
“Is there a possibility it won’t pass?” asked a reporter. “Yes,” replied Anand.
Globe and Mail- A Parliament that is dead on the inside
The nominal cause of death is a filibuster launched by the Conservative opposition in late September. But the actual cause is the Trudeau government’s contemptuous refusal to hand over an unredacted set of documents that the House ordered it to produce in a motion passed in June.

I hope the treacherous #Libranos hold out on coughing up the information demanded by the speaker, they can keep them all out until an election is actually mandated by the bullshitt constitution of tier 2 Canada.
Let all of the civil service have bake sales to make their mortgage payments.
And the LIEberal clown show in Ottawa continues with a new chapter in graft, corruption and incompetence.
How far will they drag down the rest of the country?
Biggest fear, is they drag this out as long as possible, to October 2025, because “diverthity”!
More like Delusional. It’s the territory of the left in this era, whether it’s here or south of the border. It’s as Scott Adams has said previously, “Which movie are you in?”

“President Anita Anand is warning that if the House of Commons doesn’t get back to regular business, some government departments might be in financial trouble.”
I accept your terms.
When you read the list of departments and agencies, I see many that should be shut down altogether.
Indeed. The feds need to take a HUGE haircut and rather than fiddle with “transfer” payments to provinces, they should simply turn over the tax room to the provinces. It’s time for most provinces to get their asses of the couch and contribute to the economy.
“President Anita Anand is warning that if the House of Commons doesn’t get back to regular business, some government departments might be in financial trouble.”
“I’m Pierre Poilievre and I approve this message.”
This is the first good news I have ever heard from a Librano.
The federal government should be starved. In fact, the federal government should cut their tax take by about 40% and turn the tax room over to the provinces. The feds is FAR too large and it uses far too much of our money to interfere in provincial jurisdiction.
The PBO is now reporting that the federal government costs have gone up 73% since 2016. https://www.westernstandard.news/news/pbo-finds-cost-of-federal-bureaucracy-soars-73-under-trudeau/59654
It’s all out of control – a hypocritical, lying, grifting, incompetent and corrupt federal government is a polite way of putting it. And don’t think no conservatives are in on it. The Canadian taxpayer is being fleeced and is asked to turn out the last red cent in their pocket for the criminal class that is currently the Liberal Canadian government. The federal government size should be cu,t at a minimum, by 50%. Ever tried phoning the CRA? Just one example of an absolute crap show.
Yes, the feds must be starved of cash. Most departments are bloated. There is not even enough time to spend it, as it takes FOREVER to get bills paid. March Madness was the month that everyone liked, as any pet projects were approved. Many got approved as Directors General were trying to make sure that they had bigger budjets for the following year.
Let all those temps go, as well as expensive Francophone executives. I hope that everyone knows that fluent spoken French is required for ALL supervisors and above, thus anyone west of Ottawa need not apply.
Chrétien was the last PM who actually ordered major cuts at the executive level. I was asked to design tests and a protocol to fire them on behalf of many departments.
The list of candidate department to shut down is very long, starting with all departments that have mandates to erode provincial responsibilities, for example, Health. We saw how well that worked out in 2021-2.
And that situation will never change unless the Official Languages Act is repealed.
we get to save the cabinet cost of the gaycree from edmonchuk
bizarro world .
why bother when the budget will balance itself
The solution to the gridlock is easy. Have the government (i.e., liberals) provide the documents that Parliament (and the Speaker) ordered them to provide.
Jeez, the Editorial Board of Trawna’s prime rag using the word “contemptuous” to describe turdo et al.
Oh right.. “Parliament” is dead on the inside. While I’d agree there is a lot wrong with our Parliamentary system, the real issue here is that the particular political party in power is about the most corrupt government we’ve seen in our lives.
Every few months we get news of an impending government shut down in the US. Hope rises and then there is capitulation by conservatives and gubmint keeps on crawling along. To the surprise of everyone, here in canuckistan a government shut down actually happens. We can dream can’t we.
