Good Morning, Mullahs

Follow @NiohBerg: I hear Israel took out the Sarallah HQ in Tehran. Among all the organs of the regime, this one is the absolute deadliest. Every massacre of Iranians in the past years involved the activation of this psychotic unit.

Putin to Iran: “Good luck, we’re all behind you.”

Careful What You Wish For

Readers will doubtless recall the Chichester Festival Theatre warning patrons that its production of The Sound of Music, one of the most famous and widely-seen musicals in the world, would contain references to Nazis. Which, for some, would apparently come as a surprise.

On culture for the implausibly delicate; when cleverness is deemed unfair and something to be corrected by progressive educators; and the fretting that ensues when your anti-police non-profit gets robbed, quite brazenly.

Something for everyone.

Clip of the operational details here.

Iran Parliament has voted to close the Straits of Hormuz: We’re about to get some good footage of Iranian ships being sunk.

Can Iran close the Straits? “Probably not.”

Axios: At the request of the Trump administration, the Israeli Air Force took out multiple Iranian air defense systems in the 48 hours leading up to the U.S. strike on Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility, three U.S. and Israeli officials told Axios.

Evening update from Joe in the comments: Commander of IRGC Ashura garrison was shot in his car. He survived, but died when his ambulance was hit by a drone.

The Part I Like Best

About drug liberalization is the way it protects children from dealers in the school yard.

A Nanaimo mother is upset by what she found at a school-sanctioned event—drug use information cards.

Ruth Taylor says the cards were inappropriate for school-aged students.

The mom collected six of the cards while at a school pride event attended by her 10-year-old child on Tuesday.

“Always start on the lowest end and work your way up until you find your dose,” she read from a card, explaining how to use GHB (gamma hydroxybutyrate) which is also known as the date rape drug.

It was organized by the secondary schools’ Gay Straight Alliance clubs and sponsored by teacher volunteers.

@Based_Jedi – Impressive that everyone was watching the B2s in Guam when the real attack came from a different direction entirely, and not in 14 days. And most importantly, no leaks.

@wretchardthecat – With the US strike on Fordow every narrative has to be reframed. Trump as Putin’s stooge, European presumptions, China’s expectations. All in the dumpster. What world are we in? Nobody knows.

Update: Trump addresses the nation.

As an aside, every purported photo and video circulating social media of the attack has so far been a fake (old video).

Wait, you mean the public doesn’t overwhelmingly support the sexual mutilation of mentally-ill children with a statistically-unlikely tendency towards autism?

You mean, the “bigots” draw the line when you go after the children — a line you cannot help but cross and cross and cross some more because the only thing you care about is getting those children while they’re young?

Anyway.

Dan Wootton With Mark Steyn

Dan is a terrific natural broadcaster – and his eviction from GB News was unjust and contemptible: he was one of a handful of people who built that station. If you enjoyed (as many people did) the Steyn/Wootton 9pm handovers, here’s kind of an extended edition, as Dan interviews me on the Bay of Biscay about Britain’s disastrously micro-regulated media environment – Mark Steyn

The Sound Of Settled Science

Via Owen Gregorian;

A comparative genome study of earthworms and their marine relatives could challenge Darwin’s theory of evolution by showing that worms colonized land in evolutionary jumps. […]

The team has shown that marine annelids (worms) reorganised their genome from top to bottom, leaving it unrecognisable, when they left the oceans. Their observations are consistent with a punctuated equilibrium model, and could indicate that not only gradual but sudden changes in the genome could have occurred as these animals adapted to terrestrial settings. The genetic mechanism identified could transform our concept of animal evolution and revolutionise the established laws of genome evolution.
