   1. John Simon was my favorite film critic in that his opinions coincided with my own more so than with other top critics/reviewers.

      Even with movies that I’ve never seen, his reviews were mostly always informative and entertaining. And man, could he dish out the insults for stupid and/or tiresome screenplays, directors and actors.

      Having said that, I liked the first Star Wars trilogy.

      1. I agree. I’ll still watch one of the first three on occasion. I appreciate Harrison Ford’s acting, and he got his start with these films.

         1. Before that Harrison Ford was the bad guy in American Grafitti.

         2. I do think he was a bit harsh on star wars in that review.
            But I really like how he compared special effects driven movies to Disney cartoons.
