Couples risk their lives to be VACUUM-PACKED in plastic bags
Taxes, Food, Water, Cover

#NothingMatters
That explains some things.
I always wondered why I was the mosquito magnet. But, all things considered, the little bastards will be feeding off of me for a while yet.
Allahu Akbar!
It’s the new “must be Tuesday“.
Oh, Shiny Pony.
Ten Thousand, Six Hundred and Eighty One dollars. (From Glen McGregor, whom I’ve disparaged in the past.)

Meanwhile, Another five hundred that a certain health minister will be paying back.
Liberals, folks, entitled to their entitlements. Same as it ever was.
#WomenWithDegrees
After sifting through about 100 tweets I found all of one engineering major and one nursing major. Anybody want to guess what the majority of degrees were?
Now if they spent the whopping $12 on this, they would have avoided $100,000 in student loans for a “Masters in Lesbian Poetry Studies.”
Pleasing Your Enemies…
…Canadian governments, recognizing the importance of oil production to Canadians’ well-being, have misguidedly sought to obtain “social licence” for Canadian oil companies with stringent targets for greenhouse gas reduction and profit-eroding carbon taxes. Many of the major oil companies have meekly applauded these measures, implicitly apologizing for the sin of making profits by providing us with affordable, abundant and reliable energy.
You know the rest.
The Canadian Justice System In One Sentence
“A dangerous offender who escaped while on day leave at a central Alberta powwow earlier this month is back in custody.” (h/t Don Morris)
Oh, Shiny Prime Minister
The federal environment department paid a French photojournalist $10,681 to take pictures of its minister, Catherine McKenna, and her staff during the COP21 conference on climate change in Paris last year.
Documents given to CTV News initially had the figure in Canadian dollars at $6,662, but that amount was actually in Euros.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says the sole-source contract for photos issued to Sébastien Leban saved the government travel costs of sending a photographer from Canada to document the event.

And they say Italy and Greece have a problem. Refugees on Canada’s shores.
Not a cult.
Premier Wall channelling his inner Luther. Yes, it is time for the Protestants.
“Indulgences are not going to deal with the problem here. Paying a sort of environmental guilt payment in the form of a carbon tax isn’t going to get us to the point where we have reduced emissions. Technology will. More renewables will.”
Not a cult, no, no, no.
The Childven Are Our Future

Maxime Bernier starts the week with a solid policy announcement.
I concur!
We need to teach those RWNJ’s (right-wing nut jobs) a lesson!
He began a Change.org petition suggesting that Kohn be an example to the hate-mongers on the right. The petition says CNN should send Kohn to a Sharia law based country without any bodyguards so she can be living proof of what beautiful and tolerant societies they are.
Even Justin wouldn’t take her.

Elizabeth May says she will continue to lead the Green Party after long consideration spurred by the party’s decision to support a controversial resolution supporting sanctions against Israel.
Read the following as: “I love the being paid part….”
“I love being a member of Parliament. I don’t love politics. I don’t love being Leader of the Green Party. It is not really something I’d recommend to a good friend. It’s not fun,” she said in an Aug. 5 interview. “Politics is awful.”
Awkward
Huma, Huma, Huma.
