Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Running over protesters on roadways could soon be legal in North Dakota
Justin Boggs10:05 PM, Jan 16, 2017
Protesters may want to think twice about blocking roads in North Dakota.
Republican lawmakers in the state introduced a bill last week in the legislature that would not hold motorists liable for negligently running over someone obstructing a roadway. …

During last year’s election debate, Prime Minister Trudeau said the federal government imposing a climate change plan on provinces would be “nonsensical.” I supported that policy.

Just a thank you to the people of SDA nation. There was a ton of traffic from here to my book nomination page at Amazon. Unfortunately, it didn’t make the cut, so I have self-published as per my previous work. For anyone wishing to purchase it, just click on the “Montrose County” cover to the left, and follow the second link. I have been very tickled with the first day’s sales, and hope readers enjoy the yarn.
Next time Kate runs a caption contest, I’ll make a freebie available to the winner. Thanks to everyone and thanks Kate!
Faith Goldy of the Rebel Media claims that Kevin O’Leary is no Conservative.
There is no doubt he may be leaning closer to the center than some previous Conservative leaders. However the next CPC leader had better be a popular character if we are to defeat Trudeau. And who really decides who marries who, and what they do under the sheets after dark?? The PM or the Supreme Court?? Wake up guys!! If we lose the next election, we may never be back!!

O’Leary is from the Money Party, and like all good whores he doesn’t care who he fùcks as long as they pay.
Amen, JG! But I’d still take him any day over Le Petit Ponce.
On another note, why the f*ck is Bernier the ONLY Tory committed to ending supply management? WTF?
What is KOL’s position?

Temperate language has traditionally been considered a social virtue, but new research suggests people who refrain from swearing are often the most devious and dishonest.
Those fond of effing and blinding, by contrast, are likely to be the most honest in any given group, according to academics at the University of Cambridge.

Who cares about being popular as a person? If they’re not for closing down the borders, I’m voting Liberal again. Furthermore, who’s this “we” you refer to? I don’t want another incrementalist like Harper or Jason Kenney anywhere near the PMO again. Come in, slash, burn, cut and see what’s left. You know, like Trump’s alleged first day is planned to be like.

“30 missing in Italy avalanche: ‘Help, we’re dying of cold'”
“An overnight avalanche possibly triggered by Wednesday’s central Italian earthquakes has buried a mountain hotel, where as many as 30 guests are missing in the snow-filled debris of the collapsed resort.
With roads blocked by two metres of snow in the Gran Sasso mountain area, the first alpine rescue teams, using skis, did not reach the Hotel Rigopiano until 4 a.m. local time, several hours after the avalanche. By noon, only two survivors had been found and ambulances could not get any closer than nine kilometres to the site,…”

“Our Dying Political Parties”
The Dorchester Review, an almost 100% semi-annual historical and literary review has an excellent article by long time socialist and NDP Robin V. Sears would you believe. The article does lean a little toward reviving the socialist parties futures, but also discusses the dying of and recipes for the revival of center-right parties. The editor and contributing editors of the Dorchester Review thought Sear’s policy article had enough merit and relevance to what is happening to politics today to be included in the Review.
Sear’s views go along way to explain Trump’s victorious candidate and presidency wins, the Brexit win, the Pirate Party win in Iceland, the upheaval happening in various European political parties, and even Kevin O’Leary’s vaulting into almost immediate being the front runner in the Canadian Conservative Party’s leadership race.
Sear’s paraphrases a comment from US conservative Peggy Noonan, “You lose touch with your activists and their real ambitions, and you risk losing your party to poseurs”.
This is why my seventy-six year old life-long Republican worker friend in Tampa supported and voted for Trump. He finally had enough of the GOP establishment and Democrat establishment working hand in glove for their joint establishment interests and not for John and Mary Citizen.

Deplorable Sean;
Not that many years ago the idea of voting Liebel would have likely caused a heart attack. Incrementalist is a pretty accurate description of what passes as conservatism these days. I suggest that progressives have a pretty solid core of 75% of the Canadian population. Yes, a significant number of that group currently consider themselves CPC’ers. So many decisions are made on subjective evaluations that there really is no fundamental base to measure against.
The current CPC leadership has not taken any responsibility for the election failure and to may knowledge not engaged members in any serious reviews. Quite frankly as a former Reformer I feel more than betrayed.
If the CPC cannot communicate a clear philosophy to its members, other than Turdeau is a loser, then where do you start. Progressives control education, media and the bureaucracy and I would add a large part of the CPC. I have not heard how current leadership will change that. Kevin O’Leary joins the leadership hunt with what credentials other than that he might win government? So what?
Why would I vote Libtard? Because Turdeau has endorsed the TransMountain pipeline. Canada has pissed away billions$ in LNG and oil exports for what? The Americans are exporting billions$ of LNG and are preparing to do the same with oil. This situation is a true commentary on the level of sophistication of Canadians and their governments.

I agree wholeheartedly with a caveat, I would be somewhat squeamish about ever voting Liberal.
Sorry for the double post above. I got a Gateway Time Out page.
Btw, I meant to say the Dorchester Review is an almost 100% center-right publication.

‘..the level of sophistication of Canadians and their governments’
I believe that Canadian attitudes and their general knowledge about how economies function are often shortchanged by the information or lack thereof they come across on a daily basis. Canadians for the most part are poorly informed so how can you expect them to make solid choices about the people they elect to lead the country.
On a positive note I think social media including face book is helping to dilute the sludge Canadians are force fed from their old line media. I’m not on face book but my family shows me some of the smart inventive stuff people post about his Royal Hairness Sir Spud.

I have parked my vote until a real conservative runs. No more pandering to special interests or Quebec. I want a slash and burn government. I wish we had a Brad Wall here in Alberta. We are slowly morphing into Ontario, overrun with small c consecutive and social welfare types. Brian Jean needs to grow a spine as.does.the Wildrose Party. Attack the lying media instead of allowing the media to pigeon hole you on non issues.

That seems to be happening more often. When it does, if you open the discussion in a new tab you will see that your message was posted to the board. This appears to indicate that the problem is with re-connecting to our computers. It only happens on SDA, so perhaps Lance or one of the other cyber-wizards can explain what’s happening.
