Probably the ADD, ADHD and every other DD crowd hasn’t the attention span to read to the bottom of any article or paper or periodical to be able to drill down into the issues. Well, the satellite data is less manipulated and the scientist running the two data sets are more honest.

This article has been featured an NN for two weeks,headline claims it shows irrefutable global warming and skeptics are just fools to deny it.
But they say NOAA has adjusted the figures: ” A new independent study shows no pause in global warming, confirming a set of temperature readings adjusted by U.S. government scientists that some who reject mainstream climate science have questioned.”
Can they be any more blatant in their bias?
Utter bs on the warmest temp on record. If the raw data hadn’t been “adjusted” by snake oil “scientists” to eliminate the pause and entire weather epoch’s like the medieval warm period there wouldn’t be a 2016 “warmest year on record”. It was a very warm El Nino winter last year but the summer was wet and cool. Any warming that has occurred (the anthropogenic amount is highly questionable and likely insignificant) has been shown to mostly affect daily low temps as opposed to the highs. Given that 10x more people die from cold then heat any warming effect should be seen as a good thing. But people are the scourge of the Earth to Enviros so warming having any benefit without harsh population control must be impossible. Now that the solar cycle 24 is on the wane there will be much colder years coming. Yes Virginia that yellow fireball in the sky has a pretty big say in Earth’s ever changing climate.

I believe 2014 was deemed to be the warmest year on record. Then 2015, now its 2016. I can make at prediction here and now that 2017 will be the warmest year on record followed by 2018,2019,2020…………2025, 26, 27………..2030 and on and on she goes.
The Global warming … enthusiasts … are NOT DOING SCIENCE … they are performing statistical manipulation. That isn’t science. It is what I know as dry-lab-ing the experiment. Falsifying data and results to fit the hypothesis. The “interpolation” and “extrapolation” of the data makes the result suspect from the get go. Reading the breathless reactions from this collection of “climate scientists” reads like IPCC climate hysteria. This is such a politically-charged document … written by desperate scienci-tists who see their gravy train pulling out of town with Barrack Hussein Obama. Reminds me of the “terrifying” revelation that YOU are killing ALL the Polar Bears by driving to work in your pickup truck. As we all know, now … the Polar Bears are just fine. The planet too, is just fine.
A consensus of political scienticians has concluded that this was the warmest year evah!

And Wednesday night, Global National, with the sneering Donna Friesen, stated firmly that 2016 was the hottest year EVER recorded. Looks like they didn’t read to the bottom either. Big surprise there.
Except for a week in April where was this supposed hot weather?
A couple of weeks ago, I came home late one night. I have an electronic indoor-outdoor thermometer that read -22°C. My outdoor mechanical thermometer was the same. Yet the Weather Channel for our town read -29°C. It gets the temp reading from an automatic Enviro Canada station about 25 miles from here, as the raven flies. (Crows are now down south.)
I phoned a friend who was an Enviro Canada weather observer back in the day when we (I was also an EC weather observer) used a Stevenson screen that had to be mounted 60 inches off the ground, above mowed grass, and at least 60 feet away from any building, tree, etc. If the building was over X feet high, then the screen had to placed a additional X feet away from the building or contrivance.
My friend still has her her antiquated calibrated thermometers in her Stevenson screen. She lives just a few hundred meters from the Enviro Canada station in question.. Her reading from the Stevenson screen was -22°C. So where did the 9° discrepancy derive? Would that not affect long term weather records??
She also informed me that a few years ago, the Enviro Canada automatic station lost the small turbine that is mounted on the anemometer. It fell to the ground, yet the station gave out readings of zero wind speed for over a month before a tech came to repair the meter. Would that not affect wind speed records for that region??
Perhaps it’s time we got the records straight!!
It’s not a carbon tax, it’s an energy tax
It’s another tax, period. We should be reducing government revenues, so they can’t direct, manage, rule over us and interfere with us ever more.
More taxes means more of that. Even so they borrow recklessly and in the end waste every cent they get, at the price of our prosperity and freedom.
This insanity must stop, this rabid tax dog must be put down!! Government sees a “problem” which they ill define, then invent scapegoats, and increase their tax revenues in response. The foreign homebuyers tax is a good example of government dealing with a “problem” by increasing their revenues.
Screw vendors to injure scapegoated foreign buyers, to deflate the marketplace. Wrecking private enterprise & investments becomes a “public good.”
Carbon taxation is a worse example because they are so broad based and hurt the poorest the most, whom the neo SJWs ditched long ago.
Because of inefficient government decision lag time and inevitable political considerations taking primacy, they end up worsening the “problem.”
Why must government interfere in activities we’ve been doing for decades/centuries, like raising our families, doing our work without the need for licenses or fees, and indeed even smoking weed, which the government now feels must be checked to ensure if it is safe.
For instance: licensing and taxing tobacco companies to recover the social cost of smoking, then suing them to recover the social cost of smoking.
Parenting licensing and taxed principal residences can’t be far behind for this it’s never enough bunch, who lord over us to justify themselves.
On taxation government is like a heroin addict, the least they need is the most they can get.
The Met Office yesterday confirmed that the warm record of 2016 was mainly driven by a very strong El Nino.
