While I agree with you in general, Toronto has a specific problem – from Operation Soap in the first place, to Chief Fantino’s odd obsession with sex crimes and the gay community. The Toronto police and the gay community in Toronto don’t have a good history, and it’s not hard to see why the Metro might want to do a little gladhanding.
It’s getting a little confusing in trying to keep up with all of the identity politics groups and keeping track of their hierarchy.
