BC doctor stripped of ER shifts after raising COVID vaccine side effect concerns
According to Dr. Charles Hoffe from Lytton, BC, he was suspended from the St. Bartholomew’s Health Centre’s emergency shift due to the alleged “vaccine hesitancy” his claims have caused.
In April, Hoffe published an open letter addressed to BC’s Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry claiming to have seen “numerous allergic reactions,” one “sudden death” and a few cases of “ongoing and disabling neurological deficits” after administering 900 doses of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine to nearby First Nations community members.

The Winnipeg School Division says its playgrounds are now off-limits for those who don’t attend school during the day.
The division says the move is being made because of increased use by community members during school hours.
“WSD recognizes that outdoor play is one of the few pleasures families have at this time, however, WSD schools have unfortunately been experiencing people congregating at the school playgrounds both during and after school hours,” said a statement from the division.

AHS finds no COVID cases from anti-lockdown rodeo
Held over the May 1 weekend near Bowden, AB, the No More Lockdowns Rodeo drew more than 4,000 attendees over the weekend in defiance of the third lockdown ordered by Premier Jason Kenney’s government.
“AHS has worked with RCMP, the Bowden Agriculture Society and Red Deer County to confirm the rodeo event was in violation of CMOH Orders, and attempted to work with organizers proactively to not allow the event to proceed,” said the AHS in a statement Tuesday afternoon.
“On May 10, RCMP partners delivered charges against the organizers of the event for violation of the Public Health Act.

Alberta has stopped administering first doses of the AstraZeneca (AZN.L) COVID-19 vaccine because of limited supply, a government spokesman said on Tuesday.
Alberta Health spokesman Tom McMillan said the change was due to supply issues rather concerns about rare side-effects.
“This decision is based on the fact that we are receiving no known future shipments of AstraZeneca at this time but are receiving large quantities of mRNA vaccines,” McMillan said in an email, referring to messenger RNA vaccines from Moderna (MRNA.O) and Pfizer/BioNTech (PFE.N), .
The shortage of AstraZeneca vaccines comes as the western oil-producing province of Alberta struggles with a surge in COVID-19 cases. Last week the provincial government introduced new restrictions to curb infections.
