AHS finds no COVID cases from anti-lockdown rodeo
Held over the May 1 weekend near Bowden, AB, the No More Lockdowns Rodeo drew more than 4,000 attendees over the weekend in defiance of the third lockdown ordered by Premier Jason Kenney’s government.
“AHS has worked with RCMP, the Bowden Agriculture Society and Red Deer County to confirm the rodeo event was in violation of CMOH Orders, and attempted to work with organizers proactively to not allow the event to proceed,” said the AHS in a statement Tuesday afternoon.
“On May 10, RCMP partners delivered charges against the organizers of the event for violation of the Public Health Act.

Kenney’s understanding of Albertans appears to be restricted to cities. When he insulted the attendees of the protest rodeo, he lost their vote.
I grew up with people like that in NE B. C. and they tend to be staunchly conservative politically and socially. He set himself up for having his you-know-what handed to him in the next election, which is how the Dippers got in. When regions like the Bowden area get mad at the government, largely out of a sense of betrayal, voters give the MLAs a good thrashing at the polls.
Kenny has attended too many Calgary “Stampedes”. Any real Albertans are out numbered in the cities. He needs to take in some fence sitters in places like Olds, Stettler or Brooks. Even as far north as Spirit River and Peace River. And change his attitude. He wants a new “base” he should switch to the NDP. Government is your friend over there.
He’s finished, or more Alberta is finished with him.
Kenney is completely delusional if he believes he the vast majority of Albertans are on board with his dictates.
There are a lot of “true believers” out there that will go willingly to the kill floor with smiles. And, they get violently angry when you won’t step in line with them.

Kenney has totally capitulated to the AHS bureaucracy who are totally unaffected by the economic outfall. He has become a petty and spiteful little tyrant. I also let both Kenney and my MLA know in no uncertain terms that they have lost this long-term vote and a number of friends and relatives are saying exactly the same thing.

Let’s call this exactly what it is… a blatant, unabashed move to make “examples” of decent people who simply want a “second opinion” in all this. Keep the public in total fear of themselves, their friends, neighbors, families and even spouses. Here in YYC there is at least 95-98% compliance on face diapers. In any public health scenario, that would be considered full compliance as you can never get to 100%. So spin the story that the 2-5% of people who do not mask are the ones causing the 95% all their pain and suffering and lockdowns. Great cover for your continued incompetence. Hinshaw, Kenny and Shandro had the perfect opportunity to present the “facts” or “evidence” at the Coates trial and solidify their version of reality in court, but instead they ran away like the pathetic little cowards that they all are. This is not the Alberta where I grew up and was educated. Kudos to the rodeo folks and now independent MPs. Kenny and Ford have been very disappointing leaders, and O’Foole, of course, too. Even our NDP BC government has been less draconian, not by much though, at present. Everyone is ignoring recent BC rules to not cross imaginary “Health Authority boundaries”. I really feel for you Canadians. For the most part, everyone down here in Texas is walking around, sans mask and going about life normally, unless you have to enter a store or business that is still freaking out over the Covid boogyman.

So no Covid cases from this gathering of 4,000 people. And, I suspect no Covid cases from the gatherings at the Grace Life church in Parkland County either.
One suspects that if there was an outbreak from either of these, the “news” would be trumpeted from every rooftop in the province. Does anyone know if Grace Life church has resulted in even one case?

Had about an hour long phone call w/ my MLA, Grant Hunter, a coupla weeks back. We hit on various topics, including the lockdowns. Hunter noted that Kenney was kowtowing to the city vote (he said ~80% of the population was urban, I haven’t checked) hence this latest TGF. I LOL’d and asked him how many votes Kenney would lose if he told Edmonchuk to get stuffed. Hunter laughed & agreed.
So, just wanted to issue all of you ignorant, uninformed, paranoid, kool-aid drinking, big city, CINO folk a great, big, fat FU from those of us in small town & rural Alberta who don’t have our heads up our backsides. Thanks for nothing.
