Springs Church faces backlash over maskless grad, pastor says they complied with rules

The Springs Church in Winnipeg is facing backlash after screengrabs showed up on social media Saturday of what appeared to be a graduation ceremony at the church last week in apparent violation of public health orders.

But they weren’t. Read the whole thing.

A couple of pictures that when you look at them just the right way makes it looks like kids are doing something “normal”. Even though it wasn’t anything close to normal and people were losing their minds.

  1. The clergyman calling his clerical colleague on the carpet shows that there are karens and kevins in the church as well.

That was one reason why the Lutheran church was able to exist in the old German Democratic Republic. The clergy was infested with communist collaborators. Mutti Merkel is an example of that as her father was, I believe, a clergyman.

  2. My own cousin, a pastor, was busy online calling for this church to lose its charitable tax status for this “transgression”. I have lost all respect for him. It is amazing how myopic these mini-dictators are, not realizing that they are next on the chopping block. It scares me how quickly society has rushed towards totalitarianism.

    1. Exactly. By tossing someone who refuses to wear a mask or be vaccinated under the bus, they believe that the government will leave them alone to carry on business as usual.

It didn’t work so well in the Soviet Union, did it?

  3. “We find that your focus on your own perceived loss (of not being able to gather for a short time) to be offensive to the MORE THAN 1,000 Manitobans who have died and their families who have lost loved ones as a result of this pandemic,” posted Rev. Erik Parker, the pastor of Sherwood Park Lutheran Church, who had posted a similar letter last fall calling on the church to follow public health orders.

Never mind that probably close to 750 of those died in NURSING HOMES.

“That event was an insult to every single Manitoban who has struggled and suffered to follow the rules over the last 14 months,” said Lamont in a statement. “Springs Church should be padlocked and its leadership should face the maximum fines until they can demonstrate they can act like responsible, law-abiding adults.”

Mr. Lamont is an insult to every single Manitoban. I’m so sorry for you, Canada.

    1. I sat through Sunday sermons in which the preacher praised protesters in places like South Africa and Central America “stood up” for freedom. They were portrayed as doing God’s will by defying unjust laws.

Yet, it’s people like him who would gladly have anyone doing the same in this country penalized, punished, and jailed.

Christ instructed us to “render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s” without being specific as to what that was. It appears that certain men of the cloth have forgotten that.

  4. Churchian leaders will always co-operate with the governmental authorities when their charitable status is at stake. The fear of man and the spirit of mammon is a cruel and vicious taskmaster.

The Greek god Pan (where we get panic and pandemic) was the god who rules over the shepards and the sheep. The elites (other gods) loved the 1/2 goat (body and legs) and 1/2 human (torso and head) because he was so mischievous and had a peculiar way about him. His days were filled with slumber and when awakened out of those sleeps, he would make ghastly and loud sounds, which entertained the other gods emensly.

Mythology is intertwined with reality, as it explains many things. Has the god Pan(demic) not had a field day with the shepards (Church leaders) and the sheep (members of the Church)?
Are we not witnessing the very controlling and manipulations of the government agents and agencies harrassing and imprisoning those of the House of Faith?

    Not surprising at all.

  5. Canada is a pathetic country filled with pathetic people.
Their pathetic politicians are only doing what the pathetic people want.

Thank a Karen, a Soyboy or a Liberal.
    They be culpable.

    The media.
    Don’t forget their lying contributions.

    1. There’s an immense hypocrisy being displayed here.

We hear of churches and congregations who, say, openly defy deportation orders by sheltering illegal immigrants about to be deported. They are praised and held up as examples of virtue and faith.

Yet, it’s often those same churches and congregations who would gladly turn in people who defy virus laws and regulations, believing they are on a divine mission to do so. That worked so well behind the Iron Curtain, didn’t it?

  6. Lets be honest here, springs is a looneytunes organization masquereding as a church and bordering on scientology in the name of chrstianity. Thats been well established even before Covid existed.

      1. Allan won’t. I’ll try.

Scientology is what Allan thinks Christianity is, and what the likes of Roman “Catholicism,” Mormonism and most “mainstream” Protestant sects actually are—a racket whose only real objective is to bankroll the lifestyles of a small priesthood, who avoid accountability by collaborating with the local tyrant.

Real Christianity has never met with the approval of secular authorities, any more than Judaism has. It has always been persecuted and will be till the Lord returns.

Christians are permitted to pay taxes and adhere to secular laws, when these do not require doing something truly abominable. They are expected to be loyal only to God, and to expect persecution for it even if they obey the law.

“Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, give to God what is God’s.”
