Not only would the government confiscate peoples bank accounts for simply exercising their charter rights, the banks themselves were fully complicit in the actions taken. Banks choose to side with a hysterical, gas lighting, out of control, lying federal government over their customers. They need to look in the mirror and take steps to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Hiding from it and shifting the blame does not bring back trust or customers.
If even now banks don’t realize that their business is one of profound, deeply held trust then they don’t deserve to be in business.
People literally put their entire lives and the lives of their families in the hands of banks. The Canadian banks showed the world that those lives mean nothing to them. Average every day people are disposable. Their lives don’t matter.

The Canadian Press- MPs told of confusion, panic after Liberals vowed financial crackdown on Freedom Convoy
The voice of Canadian credit unions says their members watched people make significant withdrawals after the federal government vowed a financial crackdown on the so-called “freedom convoy.”
But a House of Commons committee is being told that the government was less than clear about the intended targets shortly after the financial measures were announced.
Precedent has been set: Emergencies Act could will be used to ‘target’ Indigenous people
The Liberal government declared a national emergency in mid-February after passing the use of the Emergencies Act to break up the Freedom Convoy trucker protest in Ottawa, which was designated an illegal assembly. But Chief RoseAnne Archibald warned the finance committee use of the Act sets a bad precedent “far and wide” and its powers could be used as a “tool” against Indigenous people.

Fast forward to 2021, and those rights are no more. When it comes to getting vaccinated for Covid, it’s get the jab or get lost. Far from standing up for individual rights, Justin Trudeau’s government is snatching them away and redefining them as privileges that the government will deign to give back once a person has obeyed its edict and gotten jabbed. In August of that year, he announced that his government, if re-elected, would spend a billion dollars to help provinces create their own vaccine passports for domestic use. Trudeau also said he wouldn’t force anyone to get a Covid shot but would restrict the “privileges” of those who refuse to get one without a medical reason (which is so narrowly defined as to make it almost impossible to get an exemption). So, per Trudeau, people were free to “choose” to get the jab or lose their “privileges” of holding a job and earning a living, going to “non-essential” venues like restaurants, gyms, and theatres, and traveling on planes, trains or cruise ships. No “force” to see here, folks, move along.
