Strange Happenings in America

Just when you thought happenings in Obamamerica couldn’t get any more bizarre, this happens:

The Taliban was ‘thrilled’ when Bowe Bergdahl’s father ‘claimed the White House for Islam’ by thanking Allah in his press conference with President Obama, it has been claimed.
The father of the freed soldier – who former colleagues claim was a deserter – said he was speaking Arabic and Pashto because his son’s English was poor after five years in captivity.
But commentators accused him of giving the Taliban a priceless propaganda tool, with one saying extremist sources in Pakistan were delighted.

Welcome Back, Khadr

The American victims of convicted terrorist Omar Khadr are suing him for $42.5 million.
The suit was filed in a Utah court Wednesday, on behalf of Christopher Speer, the U.S. Army combat medic killed by Khadr in 2002, as well as his wife and young children, and another soldier, Layne Morris, who was injured and blinded by a grenade thrown by Khadr in Afghanistan.

Good.

This Is My Brother Mohammed, And This Is Constable Mohammed

Torontistan;

The “Draw Mohammed Day,” marked on May 20, was started as a demonstration in defense of free speech, inspired by the so-called Danish cartoons, which depicted the founder of Islam. Needless to say, that didn’t work well – the usual Muslims response when their religion is discussed in an unflattering way is threats and more threats. Because of the Muslim death threats, Molly Norris, who started the event, had to go into hiding and change her name. She disappeared completely and nobody knows whether she is dead or alive.
In Toronto the event was marked by the free speech activist Eric Brazau. Again, needless to say, that event didn’t go well either…

This problem could be solved overnight, if evangelicals would just pick up their game.

Those Moderate Muslims!

Daily Caller;

At his May 7 event, [Imam Johari Abdul-Malik, the spokesman for the “Home of the Migrants” mosque] urged Boko Haram to change its view of Islam, even as he declined to challenge its religious claims. “Groups like Boko Haram desire to take us back to a medieval … world where kidnapping of women and girls and enslavement and rape are acceptable,” he said.
“The world has changed … [and] in particular we are saying as modern day Muslims that we now reject all of these acts and that they are contrary to our faith,” he said.
However, Abdul-Malik didn’t promise any religious or political action by U.S. Islamic groups. When pressed May 9 by TheDC to cite Islamic texts that contradict Boko Haram’s Islamist arguments, Abdul-Malik quickly ended the phone call.

Y2Kyoto: Koch-O Haram

Is there nothing that C02 can’t do?

The kidnapping of over 200 Nigerian school girls, and the massacre of as many as 300 civilians in the town of Gamboru Ngala, by the militant al-Qaeda affiliated group, Boko Haram, has shocked the world.
But while condemnations have rightly been forthcoming from a whole range of senior figures from celebrities to government officials, less attention has been paid to the roots of the crisis.

Those Moderate Muslims!

When will the West wake up”

Since the kidnapping of 276 schoolgirls in Nigeria last month, the meaning of Boko Haram–the name used by the terrorist group that seized the girls–has become more widely known. The translation from the Hausa language is usually given in English-language media as “Western Education Is Forbidden,” though “Non-Muslim Teaching Is Forbidden” might be more accurate.
But little attention has been paid to the group’s formal Arabic name: Jam’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-da’wa wal-Jihad. That roughly translates as “The Fellowship of the People of the Tradition for Preaching and Holy War.” That’s a lot less catchy than Boko Haram but significantly more revealing about the group and its mission. Far from being an aberration among Islamist terror groups, as some observers suggest, Boko Haram in its goals and methods is in fact all too representative.
[…]
Organizations like Boko Haram do not arise in isolation. The men who establish Islamist groups, whether in Africa (Nigeria, Somalia, Mali), Southeast Asia (Afghanistan, Pakistan), or even Europe (U.K., Spain and the Netherlands), are members of long-established Muslim communities, most of whose members are happy to lead peaceful lives. To understand why the jihadists are flourishing, you need to understand the dynamics within those communities.

What Difference, At This Point, Does It Make?

Hillary Clinton’s War on Women;

On Wednesday, Clinton said that the abduction of the girls by Boko Haram was “abominable, it’s criminal, it’s an act of terrorism and it really merits the fullest response possible, first and foremost from the government of Nigeria.” Clinton said that as Secretary of State she had numerous meetings with Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and had urged the Nigerian government to do more on counterterrorism.
What Clinton didn’t mention was that her own State Department refused to place Boko Haram on the list of foreign terrorist organizations in 2011, after the group bombed the UN headquarters in Abuja. The refusal came despite the urging of the Justice Department, the FBI, the CIA, and over a dozen Senators and Congressmen.

This, Mrs. Clinton, is doing something.

What We Really Need Is Democracy

With a US-armed al-Qaeda to vote for;

‘The United States switched sides in the war on terror with what we did in Libya, knowingly facilitating the provision of weapons to known al-Qaeda militias and figures,’ Clare Lopez, a member of the commission and a former CIA officer, told MailOnline.
She blamed the Obama administration for failing to stop half of a $1 billion United Arab Emirates arms shipment from reaching al-Qaeda-linked militants.
‘Remember, these weapons that came into Benghazi were permitted to enter by our armed forces who were blockading the approaches from air and sea,’ Lopez claimed. ‘They were permitted to come in. … [They] knew these weapons were coming in, and that was allowed..
‘The intelligence community was part of that, the Department of State was part of that, and certainly that means that the top leadership of the United States, our national security leadership, and potentially Congress – if they were briefed on this – also knew about this.’
